Fire Emblem Fates Releases in NA Feb. 19th; $80 Special Edition Announced

I just realized that Amazon didn't give me the 20% prime discount on that order. Strange. If I get it, I'll probably chat them and try and get a 20% refund.

I don't think it counts due to it not being a preoder. If it does, please post your results. I ordered one in hopes of surprising my friend.

it's actually a completely different listing than the original one.. it's likely why, but that could also lead to double 20% off.

My guess is that many eBay-BB in store pickup orders won't get cancelled until the morning once stores open and they realize they got 0 copies of it lol

That would be horrifying. I think I asked for shipping though. I was ordering so fast that I didn't check. Ebay says shipping, so that's probably it.

Oh well, guess I'll pray along with everyone else

Its valid for up to 2 weeks after release date. It's just the fact that it's a new listing, it always takes a bit for the discount to show up.

You'd know if it was store pickup. You'd have to look at a list of stores in your area and pick one.

5. The game is already discounted, do I still get 20% off at checkout?

Yes, Prime members get at least 20% off list price on new physical video games during pre-order and two weeks after launch. If the game is discounted less than 20%, Prime members get the full 20% off at checkout. If the game is already discounted more than 20%, Prime customers get the lower price.

This showing up on Amazon again is really making me think they are reprinting this, lets see if Amazon says March like BB.

Man, reading you guys going back and forth causing panic is really stressful :D

Thanks to you I ordered a 2nd copy on Ebay (Best Buy) and a 3rd one on Amazon (the link that was posted a page ago).

I'm totally fine with one copy so I'm really hoping I won't get all 3!

WTF is this ebay garbage? I pre-ordered it within minutes that it was posted online after the direct and I still got the delayed noticed.

This is such horse shit.

I have not received a cancellation from Best Buy yet, but I regret not putting in an Amazon order when I had the chance some minutes ago.

It would have been a good backup plan incase the Best Buy order doesn't go through. I just didn't want to have to wait so long, and I simply planned on getting the standard Conquest version before all this supposed restocking happened.

This situation is just a big mess.

UPDATE: Just got the cancellation. Slightly disappointing, but it's not a huge loss. I would bet some of the people who preordered months ago are pissed. I also expect some angry Amazon customers in the future.

At least I can just play the game when all the stores open.

Cool, I put my order in ASAP when it went up with Best Buy, and got hit with the delay.

I've only ever had this happen with Nintendo games. Not sure what's going on there.

it's just as likely if not more likely it's the listing for where the cancelled orders will go. it's not like after the original preorders they ever went back up. You were allotted x number and need to sell that many, so a small wave of them added tomorrow morning after they know how many they didn't ship/ resolve some payment issues.

nintendo doesn't do reprints of their limited things like this, and they aren't likely to start without an announcement before the game releases.

you guys are giving me hope that this was just a fuck up

i can deal with getting it next week and playing other stuff right now

i have lasted over a year since announcement and over 3 months since the SE was revealed

I can last one more week

idk didn't they reprint Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition? been in stock on Amazon for awhile.

Updated the shipping address, which finally knocked the "awaiting authorization" notice off my card.

Gotcha. I did that not too long ago and I actually see the pending charge to my CC. It took the awaiting authorization off the order too. Hope to see it move to preparing next.

Guys quick question

If I go pick up a physical copy of Conquest today at Bestbuy, will I get Birthright and Rev for $20 each as an option in the DLC shop? If so I'm freaking out for no reason.

YES. My Best Buy website order just changed status to "preparing for shipping," as well. This is after I updated the shipping address. February 23rd, here I come!

(knock on woods)

So I have three pre-orders now:

1) A GameStop.com order from November 14th that will likely be cancelled due to card issues that they won't let me fix, even after calling.
2) A Best Buy eBay in-store order that will likely be canceled first thing in the morning.
3) An Amazon.com order for a restock that likely won't ever happen.

... yay?

inb4 all 3 go through without issue

It's sometimes called a reprint, but it came back in stock well before release date and has just stayed in stock since then. Maybe they decided to do more preorders, or maybe there was a miscommunication with how many they were doing from the start. either way that situation happened well before release unlike anything going on with this. Jumping to the assumption of a reprint is likely just going to end in sadness.

You will. That offer will not expire. People want the SE to have everything in one cartridge.

Don't you technically have everything on one cartridge after downloading the paths? The DLC size for the other path is minuscule, and it's not like you need to be online to play the dowloaded content.

The package just looks appealing, but the only actual extras you're getting is the art book and the pouch. The artbook and pouch are both nice items, but I'm not devastated over not having them.

Yeah. It's usually a combination of things.

When they were given numbers in November, lets say 10k. That never meant that they were going to get 10k only. Maybe they were going to get 11k or 12k, but 10k was the number given to ensure they at least meet demand.

In most cases stores are open to do with the original number given whatever they want. Either they put preorders at once or divide them in groups or like in some cases, create bundles.

Like during the amiibo craze were not only Gamestop had a few bundles outside individual ones, but were apparently also sitting on actual stock waiting to put them in sale. Because they wanted to supply stores and sell it to people rather than put them at once and have scalpers buying and then reselling.

Of course because of this, they sometimes oversell. So if they were told 10k, allowed 12k based on prior situations and ended receiving 10.5k so the cancellations begin.

Well the extra data is stored on the SD Card. So if you remove the SD or play in amother unit, you won't have access to the additional DLC.

Why do we have to wait longer if we preordered day 1? Ugh. I wish CS was up this hour, they could at least give us the gratitude of express shipping. :\

I'm almost afraid of setting my address again in case something messes up, but reading that ya'll did so and got a charge is making me feel like I probably should.

Oh, that slipped my mind for some reason. That makes this whole release method even stranger.

I'm just going to support my mom and pop and get the game. I don't swap 3DS systems, so whatever.

So the email I just got from Best Buy apologizing that my order is delayed and I should get it March 14th means it's not going to eventually get canceled right? I placed this order about 2 minutes after it went live.

Amazon just updated
"Usually ships within 2 to 3 weeks."

Doesn't say that when I checked? Just says "Note: This item is only available from third-party sellers," and they want $230 and up!

Thankfully my BB order is ready for pickup.

Amazing that Amazon Prime and BB GCU users get this for only $64. Much cheaper than buying the games separately and with some nice extras to boot.

What the hell exactly is going on with the special editions at Best Buy? I preordered mine on the first day it was announced and now I got hit with the delay. Very disappointed considering I ordered it specifically to get all 3 games and now I may have no choice but to just get them from the eshop, this is ridiculous.

This is before it was out of stock [again]

Yeah it was on Amazon for like 30 minutes, they seem to have sold out again, about 5 minutes ago maybe.

If you refresh/confirm your shipping method the status gets bumped to preparing for shipment and your credit card gets charged.

Edit: I received the email too before that.

Delayed until the 14th? This is beyond bullshit. I'm done with Best Buy.

In all fairness sounds like Amazon is getting some shipments in a few weeks as well.

This is a Nintendo SE after all.

For you guys hit with the delay, that sucks, but the SE is a sweet deal so still better than having the regular carts right away IMO.
