Red Dead Reremption is now backwards compatible on Xbox One

Holy shit, guys. For those who were having framerate drops in towns, do a clear cache reboot. The game is running without those heavy drops now, feels like the X360 version.

How do you this? Or is it just a reboot of the system?

Maybe? I've bought all the DLC before in the past, and upon starting the game, the option for Undead Nightmare is definitely there.

But unlike other Xbox 360 backwards compatible games, there doesn't seem to be any option just yet to download the DLC. It's possible, like the DLC outfits, that selecting it would cause the game to crash.

I'll try it and see.

Edit: Nope. Asks you to go to the Xbox Store, which pops up with the little 360 mini interface. No way to download it just yet.

Thank you for checking. My internet is slow so it'd take forever to download the game. I appreciate it. Hopefully it'll be available soon. Both the game and DLC are great.

Speaking of Castlevania, does anyone have a gamertag that has the game in their "follows" section? I own the game digitally from ages ago, just need to find someone that is following it so I can download it.

Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.

hopefully the disc version comes soon, i really want to play again
does undead nightmare work too?
When I started up the game it gave me the option to pick regular or undead nightmare. Also, some of the other dlc I had bought way back when is showing up in game.

Great news! This and trials hd are the only 2 BC games i am waiting for. There are loads i will play, but those are my 2 favourite 360 games of all time.

Thanks. Won't let me Download SOTN, but now it is on my follow list so I can keep checking.

BTW....RDR is running pretty damn good for me. Played for over an hour or so and no hitches or anything. Game looks fantastic, especially at night time. So glad they added this as it is probably the most wanted BC title out there and soon it will be available to everyone since we have to use the trick to make it work. Pretty impressed on how it is running thus far, I am sure there are things they are still working on before they make it public, but playing what I just have, it is going to be great.

I never finished the game, so looking forward to sinking my teeth into it. Been looking for something different and RDR will fill that void until The Division comes out.

I think waiting for the official release with the proper patches would be the best experience.
It's always hard to contain ones self....

Excellent news. First game that I really wanted on BC. Time to find a cheap copy or wait for a sale on the digital version.

Why don't you just play the PS3 version instead of wasting more money to play a game you already have. I don't get your thought process. SMH
As mentioned before the 360 version is far better. Smoother framerate, higher resolution, more environment detail (e.g. foliage).

The Alan Wake arcade game seems to run fine on Xbox One. I've noticed a few frame rate drops here and there. Vsync seems forced compared to the 360 version.

I'm very happy this game in particular made it.
There was fear that Rockstar wouldn't allow it because they'd want all money possible from releasing an hd remake.

I thought they couldn't do a remake for PS4/XB1/PC? I have a feeling they are just allowing it to be emulated then they announce Red Dead 3 and then people will go buy RDR on XB1 to replay through in time for the release of RD3. or maybe RDR will be included for free with XB1 preorders of RD3 kinda like how you got Fallout 3 free with Fallout 4 on XB1.

Rockstar really need to announce their next game soon cause it's been nearly 2 and a half years since GTA V came out. I'm probably wrong but I hope that's what happens.

I don't think CV is available to download yet even if you know someone who follows it. I could get RDR but not CV.

This does not confirm that the game will be widely released though. Maybe MS is just testing it because it's a very demanding game, and could help improve the emulator for all the other games.

DLCs aren't included, except for the smaller ones:
- Deadly assassin outfit
- War horse
- Golden weapon pack
- "compliments from the house" (not sure about this one because I translated the name, but I can't see anything similar on the 360 Store)

I tell you what, even though this game is most likely a nightmare to port and re-engineer for current consoles (and PC) it would absolutely be worth it. This is a damn classic, and it can't be left to die in its current state. I hope sometime down the line, we get a proper port. Someone needs to go and sort this technical mess out so that it can be preserved for the future, and indefinitely re-released life Resident Evil 4 (I joke, sort of).

I just played the PS3 version about 6 months ago and didn't have any problems at all. Maybe performance was bad at launch, but not now.
The PS3 version was basically what happened with Xbone GTAV - less foliage, lower res, worse performance. So yeah, depending on who you ask I guess it was "poopy". For less hyperbolic folk, it was fine.

Is there any chance this will be GWG next month?

Not entirely out of the question. Sony did get RDR on PS3 as part of Plus when it started adding the bigger games after it started doing the monthly rotation of Plus games back in 2012.

That said, this is Rockstar. So, doubtful. But not entirely ruled out either.

I forgot how much fun this game is. Booted it up to see how it played and quickly I was shooting down lawmen, lassoing guys at the farm and admiring the landscape. Man it's great to be back!

OH SHIT YES

Does the XBO version run at a better resolution and framerate than the 360 version?
Seems to be just like I remembered. No better, no worse.

There probably isnt any reason for it other than it is one of the most wanted games for BC. Just because it releases on BC it doesn't mean they have to have a plan for it.

all working here. I thought my save was in the cloud! a little gutted. will have to check on my xbox but it is up at my parents. A little hitchy from what i played.

I missed left 4 dead 2 which is annoying! can't get it to install

Backwards compatibility doesn't add improvements to the games, it runs them exactly how they did on the 360, the only technical difference is that Xbox One forces V-sync. This is not a remaster release.

I only own the physical version but I can wait, I know I have a cloud save just after all the tutorial stuff so I'll be good to go.

RD3? When was RD2 released?

They don't add things but according to Digital Foundry most games I've seen have their cinematics run better on the the Xbone. Also noticed no tearing because of v-sync (which you already mentioned) and that's a good thing for me.

Noticed Alan Wake American Nightmare is also up, along with...

Symphony Of The Night
Bomberman Live
Left 4 Dead 2

I own these games digitally but for some reason when I click see in store it say 'unavailable', any ideas?

OK. I don't how it looks compared to the Xbox 360, but I never noticed any framerate problems.

Would buy the shit out of a remaster release of this game Red Dead Redemption, easily in my top 5 for last generation. I guess BC will have to do, just glad it's been done and I can potentially get to play the expansion content now.

Nah, GTA 5 on XB1 is just as sharp as the PS4 version. RDR PS3 is super blurry.
