PC games that let you choose which monitor to display to

All games should have this functionality. I understand that in the broad scheme of things that should be included in graphical options in PC games that this places far down the list, however, I always enjoy when games take that extra step.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is the latest example, and it's nice to be playing it on my 4K monitor, and then if I want to hit the couch, just change the option to my TV and have the resolution automatically set to the native res of my TV.

I wonder if there is a list out there somewhere that has all the games that include this functionality.

Pro tip for games that don't do this:

Shift + Windows Key + Arrow key

This shortcut can move fullscreen apps. My mind was blown when I recently found out about it.

I would add that I also like it when you can change the audio output in-game.

You can do this in the Talos principle, it blew my mind. Typically you do it from he desktop, and if you are ingame it often doesn't work unless you close out and restart the game.

I knew about the shortcut (to move windows around the screens), but I had no idea it could move fullscreen games.

Yeah I've only tried it with two games so far (The Witcher 3 and Trails in the Sky) to be honest, but it worked perfectly in those games.
Maybe having different resolutions on your TV and monitor is messing it up? Both of my displays operate at 1080p fwiw.

Yeah, that could likely be the issue. Probably have to change the res beforehand.. but still useful as hell.

Does this work with different resolution screen?
I get a black screen on the second screen when I do it.
I have a 1080p tv and a 1680x1050 screen.

My set and my monitor are both 1080p, I've been thinking about just running a 1 Input to 2 output HDMI splitter to avoid ever needing to change the settings.

This feature has been around since Windows 7 I believe. It's also very sketchy on which games it'll actually work on. Priceless for borderless windowed mode though, where the success rate is a lot higher.

The new Wolfenstein games have this option. I was really confused at first when the game refused to load on my main display.

I had no idea about that key command either. Can't wait to need to try it.

Now I just need an easy way to assign audio outs and I'll be set. Windows really doesn't like multiple streams and there doesn't seem to be a reason why it isn't simpler.

I use an app called Soundswitch for that. It's a bit fiddly though and doesn't always work as expected so I'm open to any suggestions.

I just tried that shortcut with Guild Wars 2 and it sent my monitors into a black flickering deathloop. Couldn't close the game, access task manager, or alt tab out...had to restart my computer D:

I'll check it out. Anything is better than nothing. Game on headphones/speakers, hockey on monitor speakers can't be that hard.

MGS: Phantom Pain allows you to switch screens. This function should be in every PC game.

My second monitor is 5:4, but I do appreciate when games do this. Now if only games would either A. Let you specify which audio device sound plays from, or B. Switch between default devices on the fly

Like if I'm gaming with my speakers but need to switch to headphones or whatever to keep sound down for whatever reason, 75% of my library makes me quit out and relaunch.

All Crytek's and probably most CryEngine games allow it with a command:
r_overrideDXGIOutput [0,1,2,...]

Where have you been all my life?
It even moves non-fullscreen apps.

Even if it's not as quick, is there any other way to do this? My keyboard doesn't have a Windows Key. :(
