Gears of War 4 jumped from $74.99 to $79.99 on Amazon, it's looking like the upcoming fall games are starting to get their $5 bump.

And sale prices for food in the Superstore flyer are just regular price from a little while ago.

Bug-out bag time.

Man, shit is rough right now. Can't keep up with any bills/groceries. I even started this liquid food shit to try to cut back on food costs. Called Hol Foods or something...

Scary stuff. Rent will go up in a couple months no doubt too...

Some were cancelled. Perhaps yours was early enough and far enough along the process?

I don't think any that got the confirmation were - there were some cancelled where it was in the cart but then the price changed, or where the rep said they'd phone back later, but then called and said they can't do it.

If you got a confirmation, I think you're gold here.

I don't know how fair that is.
From the mid 70s until 2007 the CAD hadn't been par or higher with the USD once. It had always been below it.
We had a brief boom in the value of the dollar because of rising oil prices, but after that ended, things went back to the way they were before.
Saying there was some mistake by allowing us to receive a boom from oil doesn't make much sense to me. Without it we would've just been still below the USD the whole time, like we had been the last couple decades.

We just have to hope wages get better to compensate for rising prices, because I don't see Canadian games reaching parity again with American prices any time in the near future if ever.

Parity is overrated. It's a measure of your trade balance, capital flows, and relative real interest rates. The major issue with the oil boom is that it resulted in underinvestment from a policy perspective in other industries. This means that when the resource stops working as well there is no support. Canada is in a difficult position because it are next to the us, and the scale of business down there and the brain drain saps the vitality out of the non resource sector. With Mexico becoming much stronger in manufacturing, Canada is in a worrying spot. Vote for people who aim to diversify our economy and operate a skilled knowledge economy. U of T could be a Stanford type breeding ground with enough support.

Bestbuy's been shipping out amiibos in bubble mailers. If you don't plan on collecting them MIMB, then I guess they're still an option.

i ordered two that'll release on the same day, so i'm hoping that will ensure that they will package them both in a box together. i'll return the other amiibo when it arrives.

I'm in the same boat, anyone wanting to offload the PS3 version on day 1 please contact me!
Me three! Though I don't need it expressly on day one, as long as it's new.

Speaking of questionable shipping, they sent me a special edition of a game in one of those cardboard letter mailers that flattens and constricts the contents, so they ruined the special box packaging of the game before they even shipped it.

Wouldn't Waterloo be the smarter bet? The issue is that the top American companies are already poaching the talent there. Recruiters and info sessions year round from Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc taking the best Canadian minds to the US.

it was xenoblade chronicles x, wasn't it?

I wish (fortunately it wasn't), but it was too expensive for me :( At least that looked like it had a harder cardboard box, the box of this game was thin and easily crushed...
When?

You can just preorder some other figure and then they'll ship in a box.

I never had anything ship in a bubble mailer.
Lucky!

They once split two orders of six items into single-item bubble mailers-- so six bubble mailers, each containing a single item from the same order-- that shipped out together, at the exact same time. Picking these up at the POs they ended up at was fun (not). None of these were amiibos though.

They shipped MGSV in a bubble mailer last week. It's fine for normal edition games but I agree it sucks for special edition or amiibo.

For a while I was getting all my Best Buy stuff in boxes and all my Amazon stuff in bubble mailers, which was a real flip flop.

Things finally appeared to be back to normal this week after I ordered some button cell batteries (a card of five) and Amazon shipped them in a box that could have probably accommodated a dozen or more DVDs.

what?! That's crazy. I've only ever gotten them in boxes.

Is that why Lucas preorders on BB haven't sold out? Well damn.

Last Time I ordered from them they stuffed the amiibo in a bubble mailer (damaging the card) then a box. I stopped ordering from them after that as the time before was when they were cramming them into boxes that wouldn't fit. Most recently, from what I read on reddit and facebook...it's been just the bubble mailer.

Has this been confirmed to not be some half-assed upscale yet? They've released plenty of Pokémon movies on Blu-ray in regions outside of Japan and they universally looked like shit as far as I know.

I hope they are the uprezzed versions that were played on Cartoon network.

Apparently they're just like the australian version released in December so i'm looking for how those look.

These do not have the pikachu shorts :(

I always wanted a chicken buddy. Eating one is the next best thing.

...that sounded like a slogan.

Are they three bucks?

Are you fishing for an avatar quote?

Also, yeah, 2.50 for the single and a buck more for the double Breegull buddy

Just had one. It was OK. Pickles on chicken burgers is weird. The chubby chicken burger is much better. The sweet potato fries are awesome though.

Chubby chicken is indeed good, but pickles are superior to weak ass lettuce :p

Why is TLOU remastered so damn expensive ? 55$ on Amazon and same price on the PSN. It's been out for +18 months ...

I own the game on PS3 and played it for 5 hours two years ago then I had to drop it because uhm reasons and now that I own a PS4 I feel like playing the game all over again but I'm not putting more than 25$ for a game I already own on another platform.

I bet I missed a big sale where it was on sale for 20 bucks or something :(

Christmas 2014 it was hovering around $25 at most retailers but it seems to have gone up in price over the last year sadly which has been odd to see. I know that doesn't help you but it is just begging for a price drop again.

Most if not all AAA games that came out after TLOU went on sale one point on another for less than 20$. Heck The order was 10$ during the winter sales ...

This is very odd for a PS4 game.

3 movies in 1 BD and by Viz Media on top of that? I can guarantee that it will be a release with shitty PQ. Just look at the Sailor Moon BD releases from last year.

it's actually 3 different discs, from what people have said audio is 2.0 but the picture is really nice.

This is also a steelbook release apparently.

With the increase in game prices, I decided to look to the past for entertainment. Picked up a 360, 2 controllers, Kinect and 23 games off kijiji for $140. Purchased xbl gold and I think I'm set for 2016. I already have a ps4 but I've been really dissatisfied with the current gen library. I spent the day playing cod 4 and mw2 online and they are as fun as I remembered. I never really played the 360 last gen so I'm looking to catch up on the good exclusives from last gen. If anyone has recommendations, I'm all ears.

If you like jRPG Tales of Vesperia maybe? PS3 one never came out in English.

I would get a 360 myself to play Halo and that, but don't have the funds/time to actually do that.

I'm gonna work on finishing games this year with my limited time. Only going to buy the stuff I preordered for cheap, anything else isn't worth it now for me.

Tales of Vesperia. It's available on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Recently picked up Vanquish for the PS3 myself. I want to get Bionic Commando, Star Wars The Force Unleashed (Ultimate Sith Edition) and Star Ocean Last Hope next.
