The gaming section is super tiny with only new releases and a few oldies. Brutal. Oh well. The only reason I use them is for in store pick up on sales or returning stuff.

I went to a converted store on the weekend. A guy in his 50s wearing a Playstation shirt was demonstrating a PS4 to an older couple. Weird as fuck and I used to know the Sony rep in my area. They all got laid off an contracted out early in the PS3 era.

I would think so since there's still another beta period left. I didn't get mine with my order when I did it months ago, but instead of waiting around for it I just talked to a customer service rep via the online chat and they gave me one right away.

It is! Plus there's a 20% code by itself for $3.50 US as well, so around $4.50 or so (my conversion is likely way off). I planned on grabbing a bunch of stuff with the 10% PSX code whenever it finally showed up, but 20% along with the Star Wars games is hard to pass up.

I might have considered the Battlefront Ultimate Edition, but they don't even sell it in Canada. They do on Xbox, but it's 120 "on sale". lol
Yup, it seems this is the future for Physical Best Buy Locations. The Sherway Gardens location was just transformed into a layout others have described & the Oakville location was a bit different with the small video game/DVD/Blu Ray area relegated to the front left of the store in a small enclosure in front of the expanded appliance area.
So it looks like all the bigger ticket items will be pushed in store by brand reps, since some of the areas I went into were being manned by employees of the actual product company. With that it looks like a lot of smaller items, like video games/DVD/Blu Ray will be scaled back even further in-store and we will all be making more trips to their website for games instead.

Yeah, a lot of the locations doesn't carry much of the gaming stuff anymore. When I use the stock inquiry the only two locations that pops up are the ones that hasn't been relocated or renovated yet.
Now EB games is actually the only place that has a "full" catalogue, and it kinda rubs me in the wrong way because my local EB is going downhill to absolute shit after the old staff left ~ 3 years ago.

I was talking to a friend of mine who works for UPS and he implied it was pretty standard for drivers to not give two fucks about the parcels, since the only metric that is of concern to them is number of deliveries/hour-type stuff, but that they usually at least do the common courtesy attempt to avoid shit like this. He was surprised the guy just left it in the open on my deck.

I received PQ and P4DAN today after having to nudge Amazon to actually ship them. I'm pleasantly surprised that the boxes are in such good conditions after all I've heard about damaged boxes, but I'm glad I didn't paid full price for the LEs since they kinda feel a bit underwhelming.
