Anyone know if Apple Earpods with microphone ever go on sale? Or if there's a cheaper alternative that isn't a sketchy made in China copy (that costs 2 bucks but makes you wonder if they won't just fall apart because they're 2 bucks)?

To be fair, Apple Earpods are awful, and the knock off ones are probably just as good.

I mean that with complete, total sincerity. That Apple offers replacements of those Earpods at like $50 is one of the most surface level trolling attempts to attract only the biggest suckers.

Apple Earpods are a total piece of shit. Do yourself a favor and buy a decent pair of buds that won't fall apart in 3 months. (If you're lucky).

Do yourself a favor and get Sennheisers.

I've never had issues with them? I still have my pair from 2012. Heck I still have my original headphones from my iPhone 4 in 2010 and they still work fine. Neither of them broke.

I know compared to a nice pair of Sennheisers they don't compare but for headphones that come with the phone they are pretty good

The hyperbole of them being "a total piece of shit" is ridiculous. Sure they're not the greatest, but they're not "a total piece of shit" either.

My main issue with them isn't quality related but that those types of headphones don't seem to stay in the ears well when one is at the gym

No, they're total pieces of shit. Considering what you're paying for the phone, and how much Apple consistently harps on top notch quality and design in their products, there's no other way to describe them. That they can still function after two years isn't a ringing endorsement.

If they were packaged with a shit phone from 7-Eleven, then sure, it is what it is. But one of the most expensive, top class phones in the world? Total piece of shit.

With all the Xenoblade Wii U talk I realized I completely overlooked the 3DS version. Reviews look good, gameplay looks good, I'll try it out... except I can't find it in stores anywhere.

Anyone see it for sale for a reasonable price? I only own an N3DS, not a Wii U.

To be clear, the 3DS game is a port of the Wii game and very different from the recently released Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Better to download it, without having to swap out carts.

Or buy it online at Amazon.

Little off topic but has anyone here ever gotten a refund from Microsoft on a digital game? I bought The taken king, and used the wrong payment method. So after chatting with them last night, they refunded it. But the game is still working. Am I lucky, or will they take it away soon? I figured they would remove it asap, but they didn't.

Actually I'm pretty sure that's a common thing to happen. Like, I remember people here, and on other sites who refunded games on XBL, got the money back, but the game was still on their system downloaded and they could still play it.

I've been using these since early in the year and the initial pair I bought are still just as good as when I first got them.

I use them everyday for my morning gym routine, podcasts/music on my commute and while doing chores around the house and I've never run into any issues.
Those are in-ear right? I can't use those... they just feel too weird. :(

Is it realistic to expect a sale of dualshock 3's near the holidays.

My only 4 year old DS3 is starting to crap out on me I'm getting phantom presses.

$55 is ridiculous for a controller of a dead platform.

Maybe I'll give those Chinese knockoffs a try. I guess it's only a few bucks, but I half expect them to shock my brain or something. lol

Problem is that a lot of people seem to like the in ear design, which I just don't like wearing. Then adding in a microphone and it becomes even more niche. lol

I've also bought an "OEM Screen" from a 3rd party before and I really could not tell the difference side by side with my friend's iPhone. The guy who sold it to me told me he gets the parts from the same factory in China as Apple, I believe him tbh.

Maybe it's easier to get some of that OEM stuff than we think

You kids really like your in ear buds these days. :( lol
I can assure it has nothing to do with age, at least for me it doesn't. ;-)

The worst thing for me about buds that aren't in-ear (particularly Apple buds), is that they leak too much sound, both in and out. You need to jack up your volume to drown out the sound around you, and then everyone around you can also hear it.

When I'm at home I typically use my V-Moda M-100 over-ears (while my son uses M-80s), but when I'm out commuting to work I alternate between Sennheiser in-ears and Jaybird X2 Bluetooth in-ears.

Not really a deal but boy had I been waiting for the time to buy this piece of work at a reasonable price, and without crazy import fees: Shin Megami Tensei IV OST [4CDs]. There's a different seller selling it cheaper on there too.

I absolutely love the music in the game and I own it digitally, but I really wanted the physical copy. Bought this as my "present to self" for Christmas lol.

Warning if going the eShop route: It's the largest game on the system and won't fit on the default card even if it's empty.

My local EB (Halifax) and Walmart seem to have it in stock, but YMMV.

I feel weird but I prefer the Piston 2s to the third generations - and I'm pretty sure I've got legitimate versions of both.

The build quality just feels more solid on the 2nd gen, plus the way they redid the buttons on the 3rd gen is awful - it's basically impossible to feel out and press the play/pause button on the cord because it's tiny and on the same side as volume up and down. Maybe if I had tiny fingers, but it seems like a baffling design decision.

3rd gen sounds about the same and looks a little nicer, I guess.

I also can't imagine ever using earbuds again - in-ear ones help block out a lot of noise (a godsend on transit) and let me keep the volume at lower levels too as I'm not having to compensate for outside noise leaking in.

I live in Toronto and I still see stacks of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D in Walmarts, EB Games etc. The fact that it hasn't disappeared yet should fare well considering some of the other 3DS titles completely disappeared off the face of the Earth and got expensive (Kid Icarus Uprising).

I guess it's a YMMV thing? Where do you live?

Walmarts still have stacks of Metroid other M for 79.99. May as well grab one of those while you're there.

Anyone know where i can get Diablo 3 Reaper of souls or what ever edition for PS4 for lower than friggin 70$?!?! lol

It shows up on most big PSN sales. Hang tight till Christmas/Boxing Day, it will be on sale somewhere. It tends to bottom out at 30-40 unless you're super lucky, as the game still sells quite well

I got it for $20 last year (or I dunno, earlier this year maybe) at Shoppers Drug Mart. Not sure why it jumped in price.

Microsoft still hasn't sent me my last promo code from black friday for $10 off...

If you can wait like 2 weeks it might drop to $20-30 on Boxing Day physical. On PSN I've only seen it go as low as $30 but who knows. I'm actually looking to pick it up myself, but $20-25 is the sweet spot for me cause I know I'm only gonna play like 15 hours of it and then toss it away because SFV is more important.

Damn I've been looking for headphones as a christmas gift but you can't get these any faster than mid-January =|

Echoing XenoFlare, are there any good in-store options?

NCIX, the shittiest store next to CC, charges 40 for them. At least when I checked last week.

Could attempt a price match at NCIX online with in store pickup as your shipping option.

NCIX will almost do anything to not pm lol. I live down the street from one too.

I'll probably give it a shot tomorrow when I stop by.

Edit - nm not in stock locally

Yeah the stores are awful but online it's sometimes decent. I haven't shopped there in years but whenever I did I'd do the PM online and then go pick up after approval.
If you have a Vita, it has been free before, and regularly $10.
So few people have a Vita that Amazon thinks it's a PSP: http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B007FMSDU0/

I checked NCIX's site and it charges 55 too.

I took a look around at the various stores around me (7 different stores) and most of them actually removed Dualshock 3 from the shelves except for EB, like there are no spaces for it anymore. Best Buy has it on their list but the clerk is giving me a vibe that it will be phased out soon.

I should have picked up one last year or the year before since they were on sale during the holiday shopping period, and I just realized today that my PS3 and dualshock 3 is almost 6 years old. Kudos to my DS3 that lived for that long.

I ended up biting the bullet and got one from EB. If you want in stores options, the outlook is grim.

Speaking of headphones. I think Xiaomi offers a classic earbuds in their line up called Mi Piston Pods. It was one of the better "cheapass" options out there but sadly it only lived for about 4 months before dying.
