Even their normal, non-special edition stuff tends to be somewhat supply constrained. Most "good" nintendo games lately stay full price until they no longer offer them for sale anymore, at which point they go up in price beyond MSRP.

IMO, like other CE, there will be a small 'restock' a couple of days before or on release when they get final allocations number on all three store front (ebgames, BestBuy, Amazon). You could try your luck on release at Toys'r'us too, not sure if they will carry this.

Edit: For comparison: Fallout Pipboy had a restock at BB a couple of times with very few units. Xenoblade SE also a couple of months ago at BB and near release everywhere. Tales of Zestiria CE had a restock of around 20 units at BB and at Amazon after release date.

Hard to say whether we'll get another price hike when the US gets another price cut, but if you do decide to get one now there's always that 15% off code for Toys R Us. Incidentally it's also good for getting a new PS+ sub for those of you actually hunting for deals on those.

Everyone's just trying to find a copy. Amazon put it up like a day after the promo was up and BB as you know only put it up today (BB promo finished last week). I highly doubt anyone manage to snag one for 30% off. I wouldn't be surprise if someone tries to manipulate one of the CSR to have it reduced or to exchange one of their regular copy with the SE one.

Considering you can transfer your save file, two separate retail carts is the least ideal way to play.

You can get a single cart, and get the other stories as DLC if that's your main worry.

Yeah it will just sell out again. This is worse than MGS3LE back in the day from EB. I never bought from that location ever again.
