Helldivers coming to Steam December 7th, Pre-orders get Early Access

Nice. Good game. I hope they add more content. As the build on PS4 could get repetitive after awhile.

It's the game + the three free expansions launched on PS.
Also will be DLC available to purchase, weapons packs, etc... I guess.

Oh cool. Any other development updates? It would be awesome to see two or even 4 teams in bigger maps compete to do objectives.

The more support the better. Thats all the game needed. More customization, maps, and weapons.

For realsies though, this definitely opens the door for smaller games developed by third party but funded/owned by Sony. Such as maybe Resogun and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, of the top of my head.

Reminder.

This seems like a pretty good deal for them. I mean, first get visibility on PS4, then make more money on pc and grow up your studio. Nice.

Some interesting bits of info - although there is no cross-play between PC and PS folks, they both still contribute to the same campaign

Unfortunately you will not be able to play directly with your brothers-in-arms on PC, but both PSN and PC players will contribute to the same Galactic Campaign :)

Things have changed since 2013 I believe as SCE has become the publisher of the title. But it certainly would be cool to have EGTTR on PC as PS4's version IQ isn't exactly great.

Don't think that's a PC version site, just that it's the PC version of the general website maybe, and might be different on mobile?

Yeah, you guys are right it's probably the desktop version of their site. I just really wanna play it again in 60 fps man.

would be nice to play without the frame pacing issues, but I really doubt it's gonna happen

though if Sony is putting up some of their digital games on Steam I think RESOGUN and Tokyo Jungle would be fucking fantastic. I don't wanna see a game as brilliant as Tokyo Jungle stuck in last gen.

Uff, it's really hard to be a junior member here in NeoGaf.
Since i was portbegging on the Xcom thread, doesn't even come across your mind that i was kidding about bloodborne pc begging? I don't care, i mean it's a reeally good game so i perfectly understand if you want it. I was just kidding.
Jesus.

Edit: and i have a perfectly fine pc so i will play Xcom2 anyway.

So all of your posts in this thread were jokes? Lol, that's some weird jokes bruh.

Anyway, are people still playing this on PS4? I have a PC but it doesn't seem like that would make much difference with a game like this.

Second party doesn't exist and doesn't make any sense.

Helldivers is a Sony first party title (fully funded by Sony) that is coming to PC. Just stop.

Uh...what? Second party is a common term describing a third party developer creating a game for a console manufacturer. The term has been around for years and years. Why would you pretend it's not a thing? You know what the term means. It's a way to separate a first-party game created by a first-party developer and a third-party developer.

Yes, technically both kinds are releases from a "first-party" publisher. But I can't think of any reason a person could be offended by the usage of "second party" to describe a game like this. It's the reason Sony publishing an Arrowhead game isn't quite as impactful as them publishing a game from one of their first-parties.

I wrote like two post at the beginning and i was joking. It's not so hard to understand, if you really want to. Bye.

I didn't say it was a million posts, I said it didn't look like jokes. Well, until someone linked your own port begging. Then I chuckled so I guess that part was funny. Hello.

Great game.

Squad based team vs. hoards of enemies -- wide variety of difficulty settings that affect enemy count, type, objectives, etc. On harder levels it's massively fun and wildly chaotic.

Basically a dual stick shooter, but you need to pull the trigger to fire (friendly fire is real!). You need to enter codes [dpad on ps4, don't know for pc) to pull off support calls [anything from weapons to turrets to other abilities]. Works really, really well -- some frantic code entering during crazy moments to save the day [you can revive everyone with a well placed support grenade but you need to get the code in time to do so].

Highly recommended to give it a shot if you like dual stick shooting and or squad based action.

Whoa Sony on PC. That's fucking crazy, my imagination is running wild right now.

Killzone, Uncharted, Bloodborne, Demon's Souls. This could be the start of an era....?

At most you'll get smaller games like this or maybe some PS4 exclusive third party games (like Street Fighter V and, if the rumours are true, Final Fantasy VII Remake).

If they do well enough maybe it'll push them to put up some of the bigger PS3 exclusives, but I doubt it. Definitely won't get any big PS4 games, or anything from First Party.

This is great news. Enjoy, PC gamers!

Honestly, all games like this should have a PC release. A PC release should keep the community active and ensures that people will still be able to play this years from now. I'd still be playing Geometry Wars 2 if it had a PC release, but because it's relegated to Xbox 360 it's not really being played anymore and I couldn't be arsed lugging out an old system just to play it.

Ultimately, I think every game should be playable on PC even if its years after the console release.

Well, you can always run into compatibility issues over time and not being able to run a game on your os. It's not like PC is flawless.

Agree 100%.

Helldivers is one of my most played games on PS4 and I will buy and play again on PC.

I don't know how this thing works... But does thjs mean that Helldivers on PS4 sold less than they expected to do?

Nah. They probably just want to see if they can make more money. By selling more of it. Traditionally, you want to horde all the exclusive stuff you can on your own console, but that's leaving money on the table. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to let a game debut on the closed platform then go out to steam later on and mop up.

That's true, but 95% of the time even super ancient PC games can still be played. Plus you have mods, graphical settings, and can even get work arounds for games servers being taken down a lot of the time.

A good PC port is easily the best way to ensure a game can still be played a decade from release.
