Didn't know this was coming. Appears to include all of the DLC. Don't know if there's any more press on it yet.

Interesting: It's published by Playstation Mobile. Maybe Sony's moving a bit more toward some leeway with PC games?

Edit:

Release date is December 7, early access for preordering begins on the weekend.

Title: HELLDIVERS
Genre: Action
Developer: Arrowhead Game Studios
Publisher: PlayStation Mobile Inc.
Release Date: December 2015

So, uh, when's bloodborne?

Whoa, this is a first -- the game was actually published by Sony, so this is quite good news!

This is the time to show Sony a fuckton of sales, people.

This is very, very, very interesting. Hopefully it bodes well for Sony published games appearing on PC in the future.

Understatement :P

But seriously... is this a sign of things to come?
I know games like Uncharted won't go on Steam but smaller titles now look like a huge possibility.
Resogun for PC?
Journey?

Not first party, third party IP. Arrowhead aren't owned by anyone.

Helldivers is a Sony owned IP. The team aren't owned by Sony, but the game is.

I'd say Resogun is a possibility. I doubt Journey though.

the ip is owned by sony, there's even the trademark information on the steam page

I know, I meant that it's not a first party game. A first party IP I would associate with devs they own.

Basically it likely means like we might see Everyone's Gone to the Rapture but likely not something like Tearaway, is what I was getting at.

Hmmmm so Sony DOES release games on PC sometimes!

They should definitely release Bloodborne at this point. I'm guessing that the sales potential for the game on PS4 is likely next to nil now, and likely would provide little incentive to sell the console too.

Doubt this means anything, they never said it was a exclusive only "no plans atm" and the game was losing its momentum so figured it was time to release it.

I wonder if this is a new initiative they have for independent devs to make new first party games. Publishing rights but the ability to release on platforms not called Nintendo or Xbox. Will definitely be interesting to see how things unfold with other "indie" titles published by SCE.

Helldivers is a second party game. External dev team published by Sony.

Second party.

Guys, GUYS. Does this mean Bloodborne could eventually appear on PC?!!!

Probably not. Helldivers was an externally contracted game and doesn't seem like it had development help from one of Sony's studios (like Bloodborne and Japan Studio).

Still though it is good to see this on there. I'd say if Resogun or Everybody's Gone to the Rapture (made in collab with XDev and SSM) showed up on Steam then we could entertain the possibility of Bloodborne on PC.

This sets a bad precedent imo. What is the point of this port?

Didn't know it was bad for more people to have access to a game. The point is to make money, obviously.
