I never saw Birdie shine nor will I see him now.
There were plenty of new chars in sf4. & the classics never felt too much. Nobody ever complained about them.& most of people are begging for the sf3 chars who shined once, even in a kind of ugly way, at least to me (mention,Urien,Q,retarded minimalist moves list). I agree on the new chars creation like Necalli who looks really good, but not hating on a unique char like Vega. Instead, cut those clone chars,yun/yang. Or u even gonna mention ken/ryu now? Let's give the spots to hakan/hugo/honda/el fuerte. Cmon!

He's a motion character but they did change a fair deal of his stuff.
- Sobat Kick is a one hit kick that's really fast, does good damge, is safe on block, and you can combo into it off of a light.
- You can special cancel his sweep
- Almost all of his specials are safe on block
- His normals are really good including two launchers, one that he can combo into and both he can combo off of.
Omega Deejay is a monster. Playing him and then regular DeeJay makes me want to shut the game off.

You are missing the point.
We've been able to play the SF4 characters for years. They've been at the main event of major tournaments for years. The launch roster for SFV will be 16 characters. 4 of those will be completely new. That means that we only get 12 returning veterans on launch. Why waste those slots on characters we've been playing for years now?
Whether or not I personally like the character designs is irrelevant. I just think that SFV's roster should be different.
That's what I think as well. Mainly because I hope we don't get all 8 being SF2 characters. I want cool SF4 characters like Juri, and it gives more room for SF3 and Alpha characters for the remaining 4.

That's what I've been thinking too, SF2 only seems too restrictive for a series that's been chugging for so long. Plus I'm sure DIMPS wants one of it's own creations in SF5...

I feel that capcom has been really dropping the ball with these reveal trailers. KI and MKX had way better trailers, not to mention their own SFxT character trailers were godtier stuff. SFV feels really lowkey by comparison.

The lack of a teaser for the next trailer kinda dampens the hype for me.
If Ken Bogard is to be believed, one of the new guys will be from India, Brazil, and someplace else...so that could count Sim and Blanka out (athough we have multiple americans and brits sooo). Gief is a safe bet if Capcom is truly all about attracting casuals as he is pretty popular. Guile has story relevance..as it would suck if Nash shows up (and more than likely die..again) and Guile is home chilling, could be a Johnny and Dizzy situation like XRD tho. Fei, THawk and DeeJay are probably not likely.
Still this could go anyway. Vega could have simply taken the spot everyone assumed Juri would occupy and Urien and Alex make up the remaining two and the Green box becomes the main series box. The Blue box is the alpha box (Karin and Mika) and Purple is newcomers. However...I doubt they'd do that and leave 4 unrepresented. So yeah...
If them taking story more seriously, the perhaps there will be no sf3 representation right away for that reason?
I just hope there will be more than just Ken for me to play....

If they are taking the story seriously then Urien would definetely be in because of the Illuminati connection. And that would make Karin and Mika less likely because they don't have any connection with the Illuminati storyline or Nash (or shadaloo?)..

Assuming https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=neaydiu-eMM is correct, Sakura having to deal with the Dark Hadou could give an excuse for Karin to show up somehow. And to add to this, Bison and Nash make reference to the Dark Hadou in their win quotes vs Ryu implying its going to be more important than before.

You know Shadow and Dark Sakura were secret characters in Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter right? Theres no way those figures that guy is talking about have anything to do with the SFV roster.
lol, is this a joke? Of course people complained about the classic characters in SF4. I'd actually say there was more complaint for SF4 than for SFV thus far, in part because we're kind of expecting Capcom to hit us with the lame hammer again.

Dudley,Abel,Oni,El Fuerte,Gouken,Hakan & not sure about Hugo, I think he was in a previous game. A Total of 15 NEW chars never appeared as playable before. + I don't really get this agitation..It's JUST The Beginning! & I don't remember neither what U mentioned above.
I do remember about the locked chars included in the physical disc whom we had to pay extra in SSF which was Bad!
No matter what they bring, no matter how good they make it, complaints will always be present anyway. Reminder: We love this game no matter what.

Same. Most of the complaints about SF4 were about it looking weird and not liking the bug eyed expressions shown in screenshots pre-release.
After release the bitching was about having to unlock characters

DJ in omega with normal motions is the best version of DJ that exists, and should be the only one. He goes from bad guile to weird cody. Its super neat

Being a sf player since 1993, sf3 was the only one I skipped due to not having a proper internet connection in those days & not even an arcade or a place to compete, just fighting vs cpu was lame so I just cut out.

lol there was a pc mod that made guile sonic boom qcf. He was the one of the best character in the game because you just sat in the corner eating block strings for days.

Almost all charge characters have better normals. If you play a charge character, your footsies tools are already good for the most part. Its the biggest trade off when choosing a charge vs qcf type character.

And yep, charge chars should have better footsies than the rest, so you basically change your playstyle when choosing one. That said, Chun having better footsies than my boy Vega was unfair and bullshit in SFIV, I hope they balance the thing a little this time.

Not a huge SF person but I remember Vega from pre SF IV being so quick and nimble. I guess I'm just not digging the animations in recent SF games. Everyone is just so stiff

Dampens? lmao the only thing that would dampen the hype for the next reveal would be giving it away at the end of a new trailer. Teasers work when it's like Necali's and Hakan's for SFIV since they're brand new characters.

No one expected Ken @ Comic Con, heck half the posters on gaf talking about SFV thought Capcom would be stupid enough to leave the second most popular character off the initial roster....
Everyone was wondering about the new character @ Evo thanks to the teaser and wow he looks way fucking better than those teased images!

They should stick to how it has been since Nash's trailer, only tease for a new character like Necali.

It might just be me but vega's transition into 3D hasn't been a smooth one... not gameplay but rather just his overall build is too buff. They should slim him down a bit... but then again you could say that for almost every character in the game.
