We've had 2 modern day Battlefield games in a row, although Hardline is a different theme, that could also be counted as another modern-day era title.
There were a couple of hints from some Neogaf members (as well as Levelcap) that the next title would be set during World War II, so essentially going back to 1942-era. Although with a more modern Battlefield-style gameplay of course. How would you feel about that?
Personally I would love a 2143, firstly there have been a number of hints/easter eggs in both BF 3 and BF 4 (especially with the Final Stand expansion). Because while it's futuristic, it's still very much grounded within the Battlefield universe and it's not some crazy Call of Duty thing with exosuits, jetpacks and all these things.
Plus the main reason is that I'd very much like the return of one of the best Battlefield modes ever, Titan.
