Don't know if any of you are catching the insane tetris play at SGDQ, but watching the Japanese and American players race side-by-side reminded me of the conversation you guys were having a bit back about the difference in approach to fighting games that the US and Japan have.
interesting to see similar differences in different genre of game
That's not happening, there's too much publisher pressure to keep the amount of games as is.I wonder if the solution to keeping Evo as a 3 day tournament is to run less games.
That's why BB is on the "probably" list as opposed to "almost guaranteed" list. There's not going to be two anime games. Unlike Persona, BB and Xrd have the same publisher.
But he gave food to Birdie in his victory quote. Ryu doesn't need a woman. He's got the roadSFV quotes

If you want to detract from Ultra, the thing you want to do it with is definitely SFV lolI'm interested in is what kind of SFV showcase they'll have at Capcom Cup. Obviously a huge marketing opportunity. Some kind of exhibition or invitational or even a special tournament would be cool. Maybe it would detract from Ultra, though.
I don't think it's a difference in approaches moreso that KAN is just a freak of nature. You absolutely have to have studied how the game engine works and know proper builds and all of the various movement tricks to play at that level, cowboy or not. The biggest difference probably comes down to familiarity with odd situations, which are things you are not going to run into nearly as frequently but will body you at those speeds if you don't know how to deal with them. You don't freestyle in TGM unless you absolutely have to (and then you're probably going to die).Don't know if any of you are catching the insane tetris play at SGDQ, but watching the Japanese and American players race side-by-side reminded me of the conversation you guys were having a bit back about the difference in approach to fighting games that the US and Japan have:

I hope Marvel does NOT return next year.
Just so I can see the meltdowns.
I second this.
I just got the Hori FC4. Holy shit, this is so much better than the Dualshock 4.

6 face buttons means the Dualshock will always be better.I just got the Hori FC4. Holy shit, this is so much better than the Dualshock 4.
I fully expect SFV to get 3000+ of people to next year.
Capcom is not a fan of love.
It is a crazy thought, but if Sony and Capcom are sponsoring Evo hard next year for SFV, they probably will ask the TOs to kill USF4 to funnel all attention for the new fighter.
I suspect this announcement will be at Capcom Cup 2015, with it being the swansong tournament for SF4, with the 2016 tour starting with FR19 featuring SFV.
this is so stupid it doesn't even mAKE SENSERyu def. Chun Li Youve been working on your combos, I see. Nice moves!
I like marvel but i definately felt like it didnt 'deserve' the second to last spot. Maybe it will get 9am sunday slot next year, or take smash4 spot.
There was already enough meltdown with KBR winning and FChamp/ChrisG/Justin being eliminated off stream before top 8.
Not with that ass dpad.6 face buttons means the Dualshock will always be better.

They'll definitely push both. Fighting games make up a large part of Aksys's catalog.
