3. Ryu still hasn't hooked up with Chun.

SFV quotes

Chun Li def. Ryu – “You’ve gotten stronger since we last met. Keep it up!”

Ryu def. Chun Li – “You’ve been working on your combos, I see. Nice moves!”

Keep it up Ryu. ;_;

Don't know if any of you are catching the insane tetris play at SGDQ, but watching the Japanese and American players race side-by-side reminded me of the conversation you guys were having a bit back about the difference in approach to fighting games that the US and Japan have.

interesting to see similar differences in different genre of game

Japan way too clean.

On another note, MvC3 isn't leaving Evo unless there's a huge restructure.

Excluding MVC3 from the equation... I expect these games to be at near year's EVO:

100000% Welcome to Earth guarantee or your life back:

SFV

Almost guaranteed:

GGXrd (Arksys anime rep and Revelator update)
Tekken 7 (console release)
MKX (probably will be a bunch of DLC characters in between and a bunch of patch changes plus huge money going in and publisher push)
1 Smash game (I actually don't know which Smash game would be in but there is definitely going to be at least one Smash game there)

Probably gonna be there:

2 Smash games (I think one Smash game might get cut but it's probably unlikely. I know Mr Wiz would want one of them to be cut but the community is going to bring out the pitchforks if he does.)
Killer Instinct (PC release, good EVO finals, good money going in, publisher support/pressure... I can see it making it in but it's on the cusp in terms of entrants)
New Blazblue (it's possible it will be there as the Persona replacement)
USF4 (depends on if it will be on CPT for next year or not)

Most likely not going to be there:

Persona 4 (was on the cusp this year already and it will be competing against Blazblue and GGXrd next year. Definitely my #1 pick for game that would get cut from this year's roster)

There's no game out of last year's EVO line up that I can say for sure is NOT returning except for Persona. Honestly if Mr Wiz didn't make that USF4 comment I wouldn't have imagined that USF4 would've been booted. I think it really will boil down to if Capcom will include it for next year's CPT or not. If it's not then that could give Mr Wizard leverage to cut it from the roster and say stuff like "oh people will just move on to SFV".

There's not going to be two anime games. Unlike Persona, BB and Xrd have the same publisher.

Tekken 7 won't release on console by next year's evo.

I like marvel but i definately felt like it didnt 'deserve' the second to last spot. Maybe it will get 9am sunday slot next year, or take smash4 spot.

I'm interested in is what kind of SFV showcase they'll have at Capcom Cup. Obviously a huge marketing opportunity. Some kind of exhibition or invitational or even a special tournament would be cool. Maybe it would detract from Ultra, though.

But he gave food to Birdie in his victory quote. Ryu doesn't need a woman. He's got the road

Honestly as a Marvel player and lover I don't give two fucks about when it is on as long as it still makes the lineup and gets proper coverage (like all evo games should)

Clearly Mr. Wiz and Cannon's have a big task in front of them when it comes to supporting the increase in the number of people going to evo.

I fully expect SFV to get 3000+ of people to next year. Smash + SFV alone is gonna get insane numbers and you add in the other games something needs to be done.

I think he was the only one not to be mean to Birdie. ;_; such a nice guy.

If you want to detract from Ultra, the thing you want to do it with is definitely SFV lol

I don't think it's a difference in approaches moreso that KAN is just a freak of nature. You absolutely have to have studied how the game engine works and know proper builds and all of the various movement tricks to play at that level, cowboy or not. The biggest difference probably comes down to familiarity with odd situations, which are things you are not going to run into nearly as frequently but will body you at those speeds if you don't know how to deal with them. You don't freestyle in TGM unless you absolutely have to (and then you're probably going to die).

Probably showcase a new character after GF's. They could just show SFV match footage during breaks instead of IPad DJ lol

Knowing situations and possibilities seems like a more foreign approach to the American "raw skill" approach. I'd imagine in TGM it's just way crazier of a requirement lol

I heard the same thing about CS:GO btw. NA teams for awhile just relied on gunskill and spontaneous or unpredictable situations. They'd go overseas and get smashed by teams with equal gunskill who were just prepared to deal with their shit.

I second this.

I imagine they'll have the final reveals and bit of info at Capcom cup. It wouldn't be to long from release.

I fully expect SFV to get 3000+ of people to next year.

I honestly believe this will happen to. USF4 has so much momentum right now and SFV will just pick up where they left off with the vast majority of USF4 players transitioning over. Then you have tons of new players as well. It won't be like the 2009 explosion but I fully expect SFV to bring up the number to another level. Not just entrances, but also stream number as well.

I think Marvel should come back because it fills a void that other fighters can't fill. As for USF4 I'm really starting to believe it won't be back. And I think Capcom will play a hand in that by not including it in the 2016 CPT. I think this will trickle down to some fans, players, and TO's wanting to retire the game and focus solely on SFV even if USF4 can still bring in numbers.

It is a crazy thought, but if Sony and Capcom are sponsoring Evo hard next year for SFV, they probably will ask the TOs to kill USF4 to funnel all attention for the new fighter.

I suspect this announcement will be at Capcom Cup 2015, with it being the swansong tournament for SF4, with the 2016 tour starting with FR19 featuring SFV.

Capcom sealed their leaky ship and it's a bit annoying for me.

Like this drip feeding info isn't building hype for me at all.

Capcom is not a fan of love.

If you played the Onimusha games they make that stance pretty clear, since there are obvious love interests
but it seems no one really gets a happy ever after except for Jean Reno because they are separated due to reasons such as death, marriage, and disappearing randomly.

If you are really into RyuXChun I think Malibu Comics has the thing for you

But you should really read it for the storyline, since Sagat beats Ken and scalps him, then mails it to Ryu.

^wow that scalping is FUCKED up lmao

Final Round would be crazy if that ends up happening. I might wanna go.

There was already enough meltdown with KBR winning and FChamp/ChrisG/Justin being eliminated off stream before top 8.

It's strange, going into SF's Top 8 with a lot of the top picks being eliminated made it much more exciting to watch for me while MvC's top picks being eliminated killed a lot of my hype for its Top 8 finals.

KBR deserved the win recognition but I hope next year is not a repeat.

That's all we get

There's not going to be two anime games. Unlike Persona, BB and Xrd have the same publisher.
Aksys had the bonus for the main Guilty Gear tournament anf also bonuses for side tournaments of Guilty Gear snd BlazBlue.
They'll definitely push both. Fighting games make up a large part of Aksys's catalog.

The only question is whether ArcSys will prioritize Revelator snd Central Fiction on consoles.
