Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

all they had to do is make a training mode that attempts matchmaking just like sf4. was that too much to ask for. I mean what do they gain from me having to log in to enter training room besides just not wanting me to play a tiny portion of the full game for free.

I can imagine how it's going to be on launch day. I'll wait a couple months after launch and grab it for a good price and be able to play online with no problems.

I'm not nervous at all. I'm glad this is happening now because this is a real beta and this will help them make it work on launch day.

Probably won't pre-order as that's not my thing, but Day 1 or 2 if there's a good deal out there? Oh hell yes.

*Logging into the server*

*Takes longer than usual*

''No...no...IS IT HAPPENING?!''

*Error 21007*

''FUCK!! NOOOOOOOO!''

Uhh, the whole reason they're doing this 9 months out is so this DOESN'T happen at launch.

Plenty of games have had rough stress tests that resulted in successful launches.

i knew i wouldn't get my hands on this game till Monday i bought into the false hope they might of actually fixed things .... if the server limit is that small they should of at least had a queue system and kick AFK players that get into training mode and just stay in all night

You think we should be able to earn fight money according to how many times we press any button? I think many of us are in the 10,000+ range by now. That's gotta be at least one character.

i still fully expect servers to die on launch day but it won't matter because i can just play training or local versus or arcade or whatever

i want to see if the netcode is garbage or not with my own two eyes, can't trust anybody else's opinions on online until i see it for myself

That's what the beta is. Part of what they are testing is the matchmaking. You have to log in for matchmaking to work.

Training mode being tied to being online seems kinda weird. Let me learn Chun Li, Capcom!

Someone will make an excuse for why it had to be this way which is bullshit. They could have simply made it so you had to be logged in to Playstation Network just like the free plus games we download. Most of us would be content at least sitting around in training room practicing hoping to get matched up with an opponent than this bullshit.

Kinda surprised Sony isn't stepping up to help them out. At least it doesn't seem like they are.

They can throw more engineers on it, but you've kind of got to do this when it's code and not infrastructure that's the issue. Just slowly crank up the dial until you reach breaking point. We've had to do it a few times at work.

So as a SF newbie in general, anyone know if the Beta lets you change the control scheme or anything? I only have a gamepad, no stick

It does.
