Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

I'm no programmer, but can't they just make the servers bigger or something? Delete some stuff to make room.

They probably set the limit low to see what happens and hope to slowly increase it.
Pretty sure that's it. They were saying that they were "letting in people" and stuff like that before.

Full capacity? How many people did they think was gonna try this game? 10? I'm not even gonna bother at this point cause its gonna be how ffxiv beta were people let their characters idol so they wouldn't have to try logging in again. Fuck that, bloodborne time!
They should've known exactly how many people are going to try the Beta, they gave out the codes.

Fun fact- FFXIV doesn't have a working server queue, just enter, cancel, reenter, it effectively ignores it IIRC?
I never had to wait Heavensward launch day lol

Oh wow jesus that's what that error means. That's sad they didn't prepare at all for the server load wtf...

I have a hard time believing 21007 means the server reached capacity unless the capacity is like 300 users. Some people are saying they got that error before 2pm (EST) when the servers supposedly went live again.

Laughing that EU and Asian players are in the Ana only portion of the beta. One can only defend Capcom for so long before realizing this is a pretty major fuck up.

This is a paid beta after all. Minus Amazon players of course.

Honestly, Capcom should just delay it a few weeks at this point. This is what the 3rd or 4th time they've said servers should be up? I'm not upset about it, but just come back when you're actually ready so we don't spend hours hitting "any button". They're just wasting their own time trying to quick fix it and get it running now.

Right, between this and European players getting in to the NA servers they clearly don't know wtf is going on right now. But oh, in 20 min we'll have an update that they think they found something and it should be good in 20 min, hang tight. They don't need us to fix the servers, they need us to give feedback on the rollback netcode

So instead of pulling the "almost there" every 20 minutes for the next week, just shut it down, make the beta accessible, then start it over.

ITT: People don't understand what they're doing and how it's beneficial.

They need people on in phases to figure out where the code falls over. if they just let everyone in a free for all, there's no meaningful data there. The beta technically is shut down, that's why they're extending the main beta.

I don't understand "they don't need us to fix the servers". They do, they need to see capacity points as it's code issues rather than just throwing more servers at it, just like BF4, Halo, Rocket League and Driveclub.

They weren't planning on limited capacity, but day 1 shit the bed so they're fixing that capacity slowly. Then the main beta will launch later and we'll still get the 5 days for netcode, they've already confirmed that.

Servers were up before the official time.

That's what Combofiend said they're doing today. They're opening it up little by little.

They were saying stuff last night about successfully doubling the server load while everyone was actually getting mass disconnected(evident from this thread and streamers).

They're letting a number in, then increasing it through the day to check where the breaking point is, then they can fix that code or see if a fix they implemented worked then move on. It's not a question of lack of infrastructure.

In 2015, people do more stuff with servers, but code can fall over more often with the interactions they plan.

Sadly no one will understand this and just bash them

Which is a very large portion. For all intents and purposes, the beta itself is free, if you're willing to spend 5 minutes. You bought the game early, not the beta.

Calling it now server limit is 21007 and someone was trying to be funny.

You do realize what they try to fix is the kicking of people out.

The 21007 error works as intended. Yes this is total dog shit and yes this will happen for the whole beta.

They have like 100 spots on that crappy server.

Anyone get in recently ?

I don't think anyones had a match yet even if they got in.

the whole point of this phase is to stop that happening. It's broken code rather than a crappy server and once they nail that, the 5 days of beta they planned begins.

You weren't there on realm reborn beta were you? That was atrocious and there was a waiting queue to get in.

Yep and a number of people who were lucky enough to get in would simply not log off and go afk rather than go back and hope they got lucky a second time with the login queue , effectively locking everyone else out of the game.

Servers were up before the official time.

I can imagine how it's going to be on launch day. I'll wait a couple months after launch and grab it for a good price and be able to play online with no problems.

I wanted to give up and start using the turbo function on my sticks. That's when I realized that both neither my MCZ TE2 and Hori VLX have a turbo switch/button anymore. WTF, when I finally need that feature it's no longer there? DAMN IT ALL.
