Microsoft FY2015 Q4: 1.4M 360+XBO Shipped

Pretty decent results given that it's up from last year. Though it's hard to tell how much given that we don't know the splits this year or last year for the 360/X1.

Safe to say that the Xbox One is selling a lot more and the 360 is selling quite a bit less (compared to last year), especially if you look at NPD and European HW estimates

Wonder if MS is gonna issue PR when XB1 hit 15m shipped. Been a while since we had a WW update.

Where would you put the XB1 now, Zhuge? Think it reached 14m yet?

Why do they always put sales figures together when they are behind? It would be nice to know the real number of XB1 sales.

I guess it's to make the figures look a little better for investors but Xbox One was still selling better than 360, so it's not like they are doing terrible, just not as good as Sony.

Are the numbers good in general for a product is my question ? not compared to other systems but just in general

It shouldn't be this low coming off the back of the very successful Xbox 360.

To compare, apart from the huge launch, Microsoft are seeing a similar situation Sony saw when transitioning from PS2 to PS3 where the PS3 started off slow.

Yes the Xbox One is ahead of the 360 when launch aligned but that's more due to the fact that the Xbox brand wasn't exactly big when the 360 launched.

In the US the numbers are good for Microsoft, UK as well. RotW is suffering.

All in all it's an average number for MS. Nothing special, but they're not struggling or anything. The PS4 is doing much better though.

For sure. It's just hard to tell how much exactly.

The X1 did about ~650k in NPD during these months, correct?

Edit: Damn you Welfare, answering before I could even ask. 623k it is.

1.0m to 1.3m is what the 360 normally did in it's Q4. Only went above that in 2010 (1.5m) and 2011 (1.7m), and that was thanks to the Slim model launch and increased demand thanks to Kinect.

Also it did 1.8m in Q4 2006, but that was trying to get a lot of stock into the channel.

Buying nokia was one hell of a mistake. Also I just don't see the point in windows phone. As long as the user base isn't there they wont get the apps. Without the apps they wont get the users, circle of fail. Should just go with releasing all their services on ios/android till the next paradigm shift happens and jump on that.

Such a great console, and cheaper than one of its competition, yet it's doing slightly less than I could have guessed (though surely the 360 numbers in the whole cant be the majority of the sales right?). Well deserved second place, let's see if it can stay there.

I think they are hoping the universal app thing will take off and help with that, but yeah, mobile phones seem like a lost cause for MS.

360 is the minority. Also at this point unless another console launches, the Xbox One could be discontinued right now and would hold second place in terms of units shipped.

How many shipped Xbox One until now we can estimate?

Over 14 million

If the combined average price of surface 3 and surface pro 3 sold is $600 that's around 1.5 million units sold.

Yes I pulled the average out of my ass, but I think it's a fair guess. If the majority of sales were the $500 Surface model.

Sony pulling at worst even in North America in terms of mind and marketshare really just killed them. They are going to get trounced in WW numbers. The race is pretty much over.

Pretty solid numbers so far. 2015 should have a good jump for them since they have some pretty big titles lined up. Throw in a little p[rice-drop and off we go!

I know we'll get better numbers at the end of the month, but what is the estimated LTD PS4 number?

Sony used to do it every E3 last gen, combining PSP and PS2 and PS3 figures into their Playstation sales headlines.

We are talking about financial reports though. In those Sony started to combine numbers only couple of years ago when Vita bombed out of the gates. Before that they always gave numbers for each platform (and for home consoles they give platform specific numbers again thanks to strong PS4 sales).

Microsoft had a net loss of 3.195 billion due to Nokia mobile.

Not the smartest buy, how's their stock

22.3 million as of March 31st 2015.
For June 30th you can add between 2.0m and 2.5m as a rough estimate.

This should help visualise where Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U currently are. Please note that Xbox One contains three month extra sales on this graph because of results released today. I will update with full results end of this month.
