Nintendo E3 2015 Event Schedule

Nostalgia's so treacherous. One moment you're lost in a carnival of delights, with poignant childhood aromas, the flashing neon of puberty, all that sentimental candy-floss...

The next, it leads you somewhere you don't want to go...

...Somewhere dark and cold, filled with the damp, ambiguous shapes of thinks you'd hoped were forgotten.

Nostalgia can be a vile, repulsive little brute. Like children, I suppose. HAHA.

But can we live without it? Nostalgia is what our reason is based upon. If we can't face it, we deny reason itself!

Although, why not? We aren't contractually tied down to rationality!

There is no sanity clause!

So when you find yourself locked onto an unpleasant train of hype, heading for the places in your past where the screaming is unbearable, remember there's always Splatoon.

Splatoon is the emergency exit...

It's not possible, but wouldn't be nice if Nintendo would asked them to do a game and they will present it like:

"From the creators of most of the games in Rare's collection, we present you today a new IP", as a payback for the Metroid shit?

I was thinking more along the lines of: nintendo funding the N3DS version or something. Dunno, I pledged and hope to play it on WiiU/PS4/NX whenever it is released.

Even a small stupid teaser about a new Metroid for Wii U is fine to me. Just show us Samus' back and nothing more. It's enough to fuel hype for the rest of the year.

Also, I still hope for a teaser on Zelda U. I know what they said but I still believe.

I'm putting my faith in you Joe. I hope it is not misplaced. D:

I'm 90% certain it won't be :)

Though I have this gif loaded just in case

this, plus Iwata tweet: HYPE DEAD

Why?

I'm not saying it doesn't sell far better than Kirby. What am I saying is that Animal Crossing isn't really gonna be talked about that much in comparison to how much other big-name Nintendo franchises would be. It's gonna be good, it's gonna sell very well, but it's probably not going to have a particularly big impact at this year's E3, even among Nintendo fans.

The problem for me is that City Folk was trash, and we could have the same type of situation here.
If they think they can get off with a port of 3ds with little additions for the wii u version, im done with animal crossing.

Provided Retro's game isn't Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong I should be happy.

Hype will hit me in about 40 minutes, just trying to temper it.

Plinko

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
I take that journalist's tweet to read as "no Metroid or F-Zero."

I have a feeling this is a bust of a Direct.

My guess is the biggest surprise is a new Punch-Out.

Put me on the team that believes the "one last thing" will be Animal Crossing U, those amiibos practically confirmed it.
I really want a new AC that takes advantage of the Wii U hardware to expand its formula, i would love that and it would be a great announcement for me and for millions of players around the world. But i hope it's not the "one last thing" as well, because only for that the game would get tons of undeserved hate just because of a stupid choice by Nintendo.

Sony totally killed my hype for this E3 ;c
Gotta hand it to Sony, they managed to completely cover up their lack of interesting releases in the short-term by presenting 3 titles that granted them massive goodwill from fans despite being years away from release.

Nintendo will be a 'disappointment' because they will only show/talk about games that will be released in the next year or so.

Nintendo should just make some shit up today, show a logo and start making the game in 6-12 months.
Pretty much. Just say "Metroid is coming! ..go to kickstarter.". And people would lose their shit and say Nintendo won E3.

Real talk, anyone expecting a mind-blowing surprise here?
There's no way they'll top Sony, obviously. But could we see some cool shit? Or will this year be tame?

No Zelda is a bummer.

Yeah like Zelda at E3 2014 ... oh wait ...

At least Zelda will come out within 2 years most likely. I'm honestly not convinced that will be the case for Shenmue or FFVII remake. And when it was announced, it was on track for this year. And Nintendo had a lot of fantastic announcements beyond just Zelda last year

Can ANYONE tell me if Normal size N3DS is OUT of the question? That is considered "hardware" and Iwata isn't going to be there so it won't be @ E3? It's not new hardware though so... It's possible right guys? Please?

True. The NX will be released by the time those 3 games will be out.

If a Direct with a new Punch-Out is a bust, then I don't want to be unbusted.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
It will be a great even, trust me....

Already preparing my Celine Dion tracks All By Myself, My Heart Will Go On once the Direct Ends

Anyone who was ever expecting it was deluding themselves. Especially since E3 is streamed worldwide

I don't understand how a pre e3 video being nothing but "watch the Nintendo world championships! This is funnier than last year!" Leading to a day where sakurai says "here's fucking ryu from street fighter in smash RIGHT NOW" AND the world championships happening all while Nintendo has said next to *nothing* about their conference other than to watch it (and confirming that its all about new games and "not Zelda" and not nx) wouldn't lead to hype overloads at this point

Shenmue 3! The last guardian! A couple big wins for gamers!

Xbox one with backwards compatibility! A cool controller for people who want that! A HUGE affordable rare studios bundle! More cool stuff! What a great day to like videogames!

*who knows* what NINTENDO will bring to the table. They already got mega64 back, and last year had smash-robot chicken!

Why the fuck is a gaming expo a goddamn contest it's so goddamn dumb why can't everyone just say "wow how neat" and not get their shit in a wad over "OH GOSH HOW WILL NINTENDO BEAT SONY OH NO"

like what the actual fuck you guys they don't even have third party support to fight over like Xbox and ps4 so who cares I hope it's just a good showing from Nintendo.

No Nintendoland fireworks or Wii music demonstrations is my hopes. Something close to last year would be great!

I get the perspective, I really do. Its good to be able to see something spectacular and be able to play it within a year. In the same vein, I am greatly looking forward to Fallout 4 and its amazing crafting system, announced so recently, and hopefully released within half a year from now.

But I get excited about things further along too. It certainly makes me positive for the future of a console, gives optimism towards the long-term prospects of the console format, and is generally very very exciting. Just like when Twilight Princess was announced two-and-a-half years before its release. What Sony did last night was literally that, three times over. Its created energy.

I have a feeling - and again, I'd love to be wrong - but most of the stuff we are going to see in Nintendo's show will be games we are already aware of. Again, hopefully I'm completely on a wrong tangent here.

Unfortunately, I was way too late to the Playstation party for these announcements to resonate with me like they did for most. I'm not trying to take away from what Sony did. Watching the reaction videos has actually been more exciting to me than the actual announcements. The sheer joy evoked by a name on the screen...I truly hope they are experiencing what I felt at the Twilight Princess announcement.

I have my doubts about today as well, but I'm really hoping that Nintendo has been listening to their fans and we see some franchises dusted off and maybe a new surprise like Splatoon from last year.

I didn't expect F-Zero if I'm honest. I expected something Metroid (I still think we'll get something Metroid teased for one of their machines).

Do not get upset if they don't show Metroid today. Things are happening in the world of Metroid, whether you see them this week or not.

Regular version for the us? Even if there's plans they wouldn't announce it here. They'd just send out some pr statement about it.

But most likely it won't come over
