fun game, enjoying it, but the load times are inexcusable. if they CAN fix it, they should have delayed the game and fixed it. nuff said
So when is this patch supposed to come out? I hope it's this week at least..
I appreciate what you're saying, but on the other hand I sort of like the bold Bloodborne logo on a plain black background.I really, really hope they add something for the load screens.
Even if they're becoming shorter, they are criminally empty. What happened to concept art? Or item descriptions? Or anything?
Presentation matters, even if people think it's one dumb, small thing.

Yeah, oddly that's why I like it. It's like some stripped down alpha, except it's not! Haha. Not sure why it resonates with me, but I do agree they need to speed it up.I think it's fine for a screen under five seconds.
Any longer than that and it just starts to look like a demo booth.

...currently exploring another patch for Bloodborne, seeking ways to improve load time duration
I've heard a lot of negativity about this and after playing the game for 6hrs, I can finally form my own opinion on it.
I quite like it here. The context from the opening scene is that you're never quite sure if the whole game is a dream or not. The CA adds a certain ethereal quality to the whole game. I understand if some people don't like the effect fullstop, but I acknowledge what From is trying to accomplish with it and I think it works well enough.
The frame pacing issue is totally killing the smoothness of this game. It feels so fucked up at all times.
I'm really sensitive to this stuff and it's bumming me out. I've been getting audio stutters too.
Completely off putting for newcomers who are trying to learn the mechanics.Load times make the fear of dying increase tenfold. This is the ultimate "souls" game.
Loving the game so far but...
Has anyone tried playing coop yet? With all this talk about framepacing and framerate, i've yet to see someone mention just how bad the framerate/framepacing/frame-whatever gets when you get summoned. And it gets way worse if there are 2 phantoms summoned.
Anyone else have any experience with this?
I'll challenge this. Nothing about the game is screams hollywood or cinematic experience. There's clearly a link between what the player perceives to be the "real world" and the hunter's "dream world" that is used as a hub area. I think the PR even focused on the nightmare theme of the game. You should play the game or watch a video from the beginning before you try to predict what the developer's intentions were.I haven't played the game, but generally, the inclusion of Chromatic Abberation is a part of the industry-wide desire/attempt to be "cinematic", as CA is a lens artifact that can be seen in photos/video. It is highly dependent on the lens, however, and is regarded as an artifact (that is, a bad thing) in photo/video imagery. Most modern lens have little CA, or at least not to the exaggerated levels that game designers employ.
I don't think it has anything to do with an ethereal quality--it's more of a (misguided, IMO) attempt to emulate movies/video.
Unplayable? You don't "play" the loading screens. Sure, they absolutely could be far, far better, but if you can't wait 30-40 seconds between deaths, I think the bigger issue is with you. And that's coming from someone who completed all three souls games many times.
You did use the word unplayable, didn't you?
Load times tend to be unplayable by tradition.

Yes.Is this what makes it look blurry at times?
~40 second load times on death, and really long in general. I feel like I'm playing a PSX game off a CD at times. Framerate drops into the teens when playing with a co-op partner and is all over the place in general. And yeah, blood stain specters do not work. Some serious technical issues.
Might hold off on playing again if this is coming soon.
I'm glad it isn't out here yet.

I thought I wouldn't mind the CA at all, but I just started the game and the aliasing on the fences combined with the chromatic aberration result in a horrible looking mess. And the stutter is noticeable too.
They better work on these things.
I was surprised at how ugly the game looks. I love the art style. But the game itself is just pure ugly. I think I'm going to shelve it for a month or so and see what gets patched. The frame issue is just unacceptable imo. How does that make it into the golden release?

So with the Yukimura update, we can map jump to L3, yes?

Good to see this is a known issue. They worked when I started, but after a few hours, when I press X over a blood spectre, the tombstone comes up, but goes back down immediately.
