I think some people on random For Glory see Little Mac as an insta-win character much like how some people approached Meta Knight in Brawl. I've noticed a lot of people will switch to Little Mac if I beat them once or twice, and then will rage quit after I beat them again. Personally, I can't really use Little Mac that well.

Also it's hilarious fighting people that have no idea how to handle Yoshi. He's been so bad in the past 3 games that some people flip when they get their asses handed to them by Yoshi in this game.

To all you Lucina players, why are you choosing Lucina over Marth?

Based on the way I've seen people play Lucina online, they'd be much more dangerous as Marth; but I still have not seen a single Marth and I've played against at least 5 Lucinas.
 
Hmm, probably my most played characters are Pit, Shulk, Sonic, Ness, Marth, Mr. Game and Watch, Little Mac and Duck Hunt.

Why aren't they streaming Smash 4 at Xanadu? The bracket shows that games have been played but it's just people goofing around on stream.
 
Just fought an incredible Japanese Peach player, managed to 2-stock my Megaman, my main that I haven't lost with in a pretty long time.
super high percent on that first stock though lol

Anyway my 5 mains are shaping up thusly:

With pocket Little Mac, Bowser, Greninja and DHD when I want to shake things up.

Venue is really laggy where the streaming setup is. So people are playing at some other places that are less laggy.

Counterpicking by going outside. Nice.
 
Just fought a series of epic matches against a Luigi with my mario. He read me like a book the entire time, but I held my own for a few matches.

I'm finding that characters with strong aerial game like Mario and jiggs just aren't feasible with even a tiny bit of input lag. guess I'll be sticking with ness and pacman online.

Yep, sometimes the cause of severe wireless interference just can't be pinned down. Contrary to popular belief, while a mass of cell phones can kill WiFi signals it's often just one or two obscure things that are the culprit. Most WiFi devices are actually purposefully designed to play nicely with other WiFi devices to minimize interference.

This means that while turning off cell phones sometimes works, when that doesn't work troubleshooting can be a pain in the ass to the point where even Nintendo employees can't figure out what's going on, as we saw at that one event last summer.
 
Not playing online today but I just wanted to say that I finally managed to unlock Dark Pit and Dr Mario just by burning through single player matches. Only 6 more characters left to unlock lol.

The solution? Wii U release to be brought forward, releasing tomorrow.
 
I beat Classic with all characters.

You don't have to beat it with all three Mii types for it to count, but you do have to beat it with all three in order to get unique trophies for each.

Makes me wonder if I have to beat the game with each alt character for their trophies as well - the koopa kids, or Alph from Pikmin, that sort of thing. Anyone know?

That trailerwas hype. Lol.She's an awesome character and I'm happy she got in over Chrom. :)

Playwise for now, im focusing on getting better at my mixups, approaches, etc without having to worry about what part of the sword hits. And again she's cool. Hah

Because Lucina is straight up better. Marth's range is nerfed to hell in 4, and there's not a very substantial reward for connecting the tipper over Lucina's more consistent damage spread. Lucina can kill you at around 100% anywhere on her blade with an fsmash, Marth could do it like ten percent earlier with a harder time racking up damage percent in the first place and with correct spacing. That rationale is actually why Lucina has supplanted Marth competitively.

I'm already getting a little tired of this game, honestly. It's too early I guess, but I'd say I like Brawl better. It really has to do with the fact that I can't find a character that I really enjoy using. In Brawl, I never got tired of both Wario and Snake.

Wario feels uninspired here. His air game got nerfed big time imo, what with fair and dair not auto cancelling anymore, nair not being able to chain as good and uair having nowhere near as much as killing power. Nevermind the noticeably worse air mobility. (which is really what I loved about Brawl Wario) I don't think his buffed ground makes up for it, for me anyway. It really goes back to my whole issue with Project M Wario, where his playstyle is more neutral instead of focusing on one single aspect. It's not that Wario is worse, I think he's probably better actually, he's just not as fun and...boring, honestly. Screw his new FSmash, as well!

Jigglypuff and ROB are the closest thing but idk. I think I'll experiment with more characters and see who sticks, or maybe, I dunno, get used to this new Wario? Though I don't see the point if I'm not having fun using him. The only newcomer that I ended up liking enough to use occasionally is Dark Pit, so there's that.

Whats weird is that its only Greninja. I never use the side special by accident when recovering on anyone else. I honesly think it might be a sorta glitch where the side special on the circle pad has a larger range than other characters. :/
 
Ok, is anyone hosting FFA matches? Wouldn't mind doing non-1v1 matches now.

edit: Actually, I'll host a room. If anyone is interested, my FC is in my profile. Customs on of course!
 
Playing For Glory, it's really obvious that this is not the type of play around which these characters were balanced. Flat stages without hazards or items seem to create a lot of disparity among the roster. Heavier characters especially seem to have a tremendous advantage since they can survive way longer, but often have recoveries that are just as good as anyone else's. I just fought a Samus who, because of her weight and, I'm guessing, good VI, simply would not die even though I got her with three red-lightning attacks in a row.

By contrast, everyone on the roster seems to get a fairer shake when a greater variety of stages are in play. That's why I wish For Fun kept track of your stats (as well as having a 1v1 option like For Glory.)

Yea I don't get it. it happened to me a lot yesterday when I was trying Greninja out.

Nah, alt skins can only be earned by normal trophy or All-Stars. Female Robin unlocks Male trophy and Male WFT unlocks Female WFT.
