Every time people play on regular Magicant, they go:

Gerudo Valley is a fantastic example of hazards done right. The witches appear very infrequently, give a lot of warning on what they're about to do so you adjust, the hazard is easy to ignore completely, and it doesn't last long at all.

Gerudo Valley would be fun if it wasn't for the bridge in the middle. The blast zone on that thing is way too close.

I'm pretty sure every time it transformed to that metal bowser head I was nowhere near any platform and fell to my doom.

Flying Man should be a free agent that attacks the person in the lead or something, if they must have a hazard. Right now he's just an insanely good assist trophy that lasts until you kill him. The match is basically a write off to whomever gets him first.

It's kind of funny seeing the stage tip explaining that there are only 5 that appear in a match, as if that's a reasonable number. For me, the first one that's activated almost always lasts the full 2 minute timer and all but ensures the win for its master.

Should have made Flying Man playable. The meltdowns would have been amazing.
 
Is there a way to change to the default stage music???

I know you hold the R button to select the secondary track, but sometimes I only want to hear the default tracks in certain stages.

I was referring to the "is" part of the post. That seemed to imply that they're still clones. Sorry if I read it wrong.

They play like completely different characters though, despite similarities in moves/appearance. Luigi to Mario in 64 is nothing like Dark Pit to Pit in Smash 4.
 
Guys I just went up against the scariest fucking Sheik I've seen in my life. Now I consider myself decent at smash 3DS by now. Enough to put up a good fight. But I went up against this guy three times and only got one stock from him total. IT FELT LIKE HE WAS USING A FUCKING GAMECUBE CONTROLLER, HE WAS MOVING TOO FAST. I just can't man. Like holy fuck my Yoshi couldn't do anything. If any of you guys meet a Sheik player named David prepare yourself.

I, too, wish some of the stage hazards were less obtrusive (I'm looking at you, Yellow Devil,) but on the whole, I think this game has a pretty good crop of stages. Rainbow Road, Prism Tower, Arena Ferox, Tortimer Island, Gerudo Valley, Dreamland, and Pictochat 2 are all favorites of mine.

Great list, but you're missing Reset Bomb Forest there. The second section after Viridi drops the bomb is the best stage in the game. People hitting walls and bouncing around in FFA is everything I love in Smash. Getting meteor smashed only for the passing Lurchthorn to save me has been my hightlight so far. Also gets bonus points for being based on the best 3DS game.

It's significant because it's a reference to Mother, where there were only 5 flying men in Magicant, you could take them with you to help out on your adventure but when they died they were dead forever.
 
Doesnt matter what I do, after I lose the first stock I become pure shit.
The enemy could be 200% and last stock, I'm gonna lose for sure.

Yes they did. Jigglypuff even still has most of Smash 64 Kirby in her.
Both share similar forward smashes, down smashes, neutral aerials, forward aerials (Kirby's hits multiple times, but he extends both legs in front of him as does Jigglypuff), down aerials, tilts, back throws, item animations, and ledge animations. Both also have near identical physics, with similar size, shape, weight, falling speed, and both possess five midair jumps. Their special moves, however, are all completely different.

This has probably been mentioned but shout outs to the devs for making the omega stages. Such a brilliant idea. It's nice not having to play FD and Battlefield all the time.

honestly I only play 1v1 omega stages

so yeah, it's great to not see the same backgrounds all the time

Somehow, I haven't picked that stage very often. Maybe it's because I've never played Uprising and don't play as any of the Kid Icarus characters, but I always sort of forget about Reset Bomb Forest. I need to play it more, because I do like the platform arrangement, especially in the first section. The bomb going off in the background looks really cool, too.

Would've been more brilliant if there was a 50/50 chance of the omega stage having 3 platforms like battlefield.

Seriously, omega stages are so biased toward ground characters. Characters with interesting mechanics like Villager's bowling ball aren't able to take as much advantage of them.
 
Dark Pit is probably the "cloniest" in the series but some of you are either arguing semantics on what defines a clone (which is stupid) or are just blind.
Just because they're different now doesn't change that it's a fact that Jigglypuff uses Kirby as a base in 64 like Luigi does for Mario.

Yeah, I don't think he's particularly good at doing that though. That's the problem haha.

Like Jigglypuff has a unique strategy in Brawl, but she's not a good character.

Game Stop also updated their site too. It's becoming more and more real with every passing second.

All this hype makes wish I was back in high school or college. Those were the days... Playing Melee... Being hyped and playing the fuck out of Brawl. I miss all those I used to play with EVERY single fucking day ;___;

Now I'm grown, everyone lives far, all busy with lives and careers. Playing online isn't the same :(

I didn't even mention the word clone aside from there. I'm only just disagreeing that all of 64 Jigglypuff's normals are the same as Kirby's, no more no less.
I also said that I don't consider Ganon a clone. I'm stating it as an opinion, not fact.
 
Some Wii Fit Trainer info from me:

F-air can force the opponent into a trip and can also spike with the foot. If the opponent is on the ground there's a specific timing/spacing to it where you hit with the foot that will trip the opponent giving you an opportunity to followup with a Smash attack. I can't get it down consistently though. It seems like you have to hit a certain part of the opponent's body, but I don't know. It could be random too I guess? The spike is a sweetspot and if you hit them on the ground and if they miss the tech you can follow up with a dash attack because the ground bounce only sends them a little bit off the ground to the left or right.

B-air has a sweetspot to it as well and is a pretty good KO move if you hit with it. It has a little bit of landing lag though.

N-air will normally launch the opponent straight upward if you get both hits, but if you hit with just the legs the opponent is brought behind and/or above you letting you combo into back air/f-tilt depending on the percent. This works at high-ish percents as well. Hitting with just the hands does the same thing and lets you combo into f-air. You can also do N-air > F-tilt at low percents and it's also possible to do N-air > F-tilt > Up-Air if you hit with the foot part of F-tilt after the N-air.

D-air can spike otherwise it launches the opponent up diagonally left or right. Up-air doesn't seem to have anything special to it.

Jab will hit in front and behind on the first attack and will pitfall on the last hit if the opponent is on the ground. You could probably get a smash attack in if the opponent doesn't mash hard enough to get out of it. If they do get out you could chase them with an up-air most of the time. F-tilt hits in front and behind. Hitting with her arm will launch the opponent forward while hitting with her leg will launch them straight upward. D-tilt/Up-tilt don't seem to have anything special about them. You can combo some characters with repeated up-tilts at low percents though.

F-smash is a good KO move and can hit from the front and back. It's a bit slow though and can be hard to hit with it. D-smash is similar.

Neutral B (Sun Salutation) is pretty good, takes maybe a little less than 2 seconds to charge fully, covers a good amount of space and can probably KO past 120%. Throwing a fully charged one heals you 1% (lol). Enriched Sun Salutation (Custom 2) seems better as it throws out a large orb uncharged and does a bit more damage fully charged (the projectile is smaller though). I like using Sweeping Sun Salutation (Custom 3) the most though. It's a multi hit projectile that when fully charged will carry the opponent a little more than halfway across Omega battlefield and is just great for edgeguarding/gimping the opponent. It heals you 2 percent, but takes longer to charge than the other ones.

Side B (Header) is alright. The headbutt itself can spike the opponent and hitting with both the ball and headbutt can do a decent amount of damage. Huge Header (Custom 2) is a larger ball, but it's slower and not as strong. I like to hit it with Sun Salutation to give it a launch once it's out. I'm not sure if it's worth using since it's a lot easier for the opponent to hit it back at you. I like using Weighted Header (Custom 3) the most. The ball goes down at a 45 degree angle and will slowly roll a little bit on the ground before going away. When it's rolling on the ground it can still hit the opponent. It's also excellent for hitting people offstage. You have to be fairly precise with it though since it's only the size of the normal ball. It's also possible to combo into F-air with it depending where you and the opponent are.

For her Up-B I've only used Jumbo Hoop (Custom 2). You can move left to right with it and it can hit about 3 times depending on what percent the opponent is at. It also does good shield damage. The downside to it is that if you land on stage there's an enormous amount of landing lag and it's possible to be hit out of it. When I hit the opponent with it I move away from the direction they're flying to land safely. It's sort of like Meta Knight's hurricane except not as good.

For Down-B I've only really used Volatile Breathing (Custom 3). When you time it right it basically creates a very large explosion with a deceptively large hitbox. The explosion doesn't really cover how far it hits. If you use it in the air you can act immediately out of it, so it's fairly safe. The closer the opponent is to the center of the explosion the more damage it does, so you can kill with it if you happen to catch them near the center. The regular Deep Breathing doesn't seem as useful to me. Steady Breathing (Custom 3) makes you impossible to launch for a small period of time, but I haven't really tried it in a real match. It looks like it could be good, but I really like Volatile Breathing.
 
Beats, what can I do against the Sweeping Sun Salutation and Volatile Breathing? It seems I have to hit you out of Volatile Breathing before you complete it, but sometimes you have armor. Sweeping Sun Salutation just destroys me. Possibly the best projectile in the game.

Not only are many of them generic and pretty uncreative despite endless possibilities (We've never had a level based on a Zelda dungeon... think about that), but the gimmicks go beyond even the realm of stuff that could be considered fun for even the most casual player.

I honestly don't know anyone who enjoys scrolling levels. Anecdotal, sure, but I can't imagine too many people pick these stages. I'm fine with stage gimmicks, stuff like a stage transforming can be pulled off, for the most part, like Arena Ferox and Wrath of the Reset Bomb, and I even enjoy moving platforms like 3DS Mute City and Melee's Big Blue. But almost all of the scrolling levels are just gimmick overload.

I feel like gimmicks should enhance a battle by shifting the pace as time goes on. They shouldn't distract from the fighting, like a stage boss or additional "rules" often do. You're trying to play two games at once at that point, and I think that's poor design.

Of course, everyone has different tastes, and I'm certain there's people that love these zany gimmicks. I just think a better balance can be achieved. Heck, just allowing more levels with platforms in for glory would go a long way. I'd even be fine with the crazier gimmicks as long as they were coming out of really creative and unique locales in these series' histories.
