Holy shit, just looked at my records for Bowser. 45 wins and 12 losses in Online, only one of those was in For Fun. But my overall win rate is only around 62%.
I think I hit 80% win rate with him over a hundred games today. He is such a beast when played right.

Edit: Nevermind, I went down to 68% today. :-(

Man, I really can't wait till the WiiU version. I miss the c-stick so badly. Uptilt keeps coming out for Palutena when I want Up-Smash (a fatal missed input most of the time :lol) and I keep following up Arcfire with the bronze f-air on Robin. Actually, I'd probably have less trouble with the equivalent input on a Gamecube controller period. The analog gate and better stick would make me feel way more confident about these follow-ups.

Damn you, 3DS circle pad.

That move is fairly useful on dark/pixel maps where you can't see the shadow.

On brighter stages it's unusable IMO, except when a teammate can set you up or maybe in the chaos of an FFA. I honestly think there should be no shadow ever - the little dust cloud tells your opponent enough.

It can punish a lot of moves if you react fast enough.

I got sent to 80% by a dark suit Samus who had 0% damage to start a For Glory round. I ended up taking her first stock before I died at 150+%, and then I won the overall game. That was a fun comeback. :D

Darnit EmCee, I see you online but you don't have a room, how am I supposed to play!

Palutena in general just seems off. Even with stuff like her VA an animations. It's like all of the sharp charm and whimsy that defined her in KI:U has been sucked out of her, and she seems to be just some weird random goddess lady that got shoehorned in because she had to be.

I wasn't really excited about her inclusion even though I loved her in Uprising, but I was hoping her natural charm would make me change my mind. If anything, her traits in this game have made me ignore her even more. As someone that had one of the most exciting Nintendo personalities in memory, she's somehow been reduced to the most boring newcomer. Kind of sad.

Actually, this game in general has made me feel weird about characters from KI:U. Maybe it was just because they were so good in that game, but Palutena and Dark Pit being in this and being so uninspired has actually soured me. Guess it makes sense for Dark Pit at least, because he's completely pointless and exists in this only for Sakurai to promote Uprising.

teach me your ways

Thay sounds like a much better rate than what I'd probably have.

Abuse opportunities :P Earlier today, I had a match against some guy that wasn't very good, not bad, but not good. After using Lucario and Bowser, I decided to go random. The only time I lost was with Jigglypuff, so I ended up with something like 10 wins and 1 loss.

I wouldn't say I am good at the game. Some Samus player 2-stocked me in about a minute, and I only dealt around 45% damage, and this was with Bowser. A lot of times lag has a big effect on the match. Certain characters benefit from lag more, and those characters usually aren't ones I play.

If anyone wants to battle against me, my FC is in my profile. I've only played against one other GAF member, and I would love to challenge some more. Although some may have faced off against me online; my name is Namikaze. No time for matches tonight, though.

Ouch. But yeah, he is pretty good when used correctly. He also has some cheap tactics (Side-B makes you win, even if you both have 1 stock left). My problems with him are his bad recovery, and going against fast characters, mainly aerials.

No prob, it was kind of what ever goes. Items on, we kind of try to ignore them, then that goes out the window lol. Good playing with you, you definitely had the advantage! Yoshi and maybe Wario were the only characters I could put up a good fight with.

Yeah definitely. Your Yoshi is pretty good (but I wouldn't doubt that with that avatar ;D) and so is that Wario. Good games!

Nintendo never fails to release all of their good games when I have midterms. I'm basically fucked for the entire month.

I want to body all of you =(

Part of the reason why I haven't played anyone on GAF yet is this. The other half is that the custom struggle is the realest shit. I swear to God if syncing a 3DS with all the customs unlocked to the Wii U version doesn't unlock customs on that one I'm going to Squidward deflate.

I'm still trying to understand it. Can you make it explode yourself besides making it bounce like 5 times first? Does any enemy touch explode it, or only if it's bouncing? Can you fire side+B into it and blow it up with B that way?

You can't make them explode by yourself, like you can with the clays. You can throw his clays in to the can which will set it off. An opponents touch will also cause it to explode, but not if it's just sitting on the ground. You'll have to press B to knock it in to them.

When you kick out a can and leave it alone, you'll have 10 seconds before it'll explode on its own. If you decide to send it out and press B to make it go further, you can shoot it 9 times before it drops and explodes. If done correctly, you can cover the length of the stage with it.

Her animations are like the best part of Palutena in Smash. All the elegant little pirouettes and her taunts are some of my favourite examples of animation in the game. Gives a very whimsical vibe to a lot of her actions. VA is just a combination of it not being Ali Hillis, and there's otherwise not a lot of opportunity for expressing the character through VA at all. I was hoping for Uprising conversations in the game, and while they're a pretty stand-out omission, but it's a bit odd to hold it against the character for what opportunity Smash tends to give its' characters to express themselves through witty dialogue or voiced lines.

I'd agree that in that I'd prefer a moveset that keyed more specifically to Palutena's abilities in KI:U rather than the assortment of powers (or at least abandoned the unique customs and stuck them to a Viridi/Medusa clone :lol), but she certainly doesn't feel soulless.

Sweet! Room's up - let me know what you think of my Lucario.
I think your Lucario is giving me lots of trouble lol T_T I don't know how to deal with a lot of your attacks, in particular I keep trying to use usmash against your dair and failing, even though I should know better by now. All I know is that I can't let you charge Shadow Ball, that's about it :3

Anyway, with the exception of the beginning of game 2, good fights! :)

I think I might be able to play Thursday night this week or Friday morning/afternoon for a bit. Who wants to fight the Sheik?

If I get my Wi-Fi in order, sure thing.

People complain about Little Mac in For Glory. Lucario is the most bullshit fucking character in that mode. Can't kill anyone because of way too large blast zones, he just gets high percent and then can cover half the stage with side B or his ball. Oh want to punish him off stage? Too bad he can land anywhere with his range. What a dumb character.
Yeah, thanks for the tips! I don't use side B nearly enough, I'll have to use it more.
