Cool, lemme add you. Here's my code (if you didn't see it earlier): 0216 0803 7876

Oh, also, customs on or no?

emb literally posted at the same time as you. I'll add you but it might have to be another day as I think I'll only be able to play for a few games with emb.
Tried to edit in to go for Beats. But I guess I was too slow. Alright adding you.

Customs are good. I don't have many and haven't really explored them though, so I probably won't use any. I'd love to see some though.

Were there huge lag spikes for everyone over the weekend? I played a few games that were so laggy they were unplayable, so I just stopped playing online altogether.

If it was a temporary fluke that affected everyone rather than just bad matchmaking with people with bad connections, that would be cool.

Basically....what should I expect out of a "good" match? Just a little bit of input delay? Or has anyone played matches that genuinely felt like local or offline matches?

Ah, I'll probably leave them off then -- the ones I have are mostly experimental anyway and I'd rather try not to use them against like the default move sets. I barely know how to use them well yet anyway. :P

Room is up by the way.

In unrelated news, For Glory has been super easy for me today. I've fought against a crap ton of spammers that have no idea what they're doing. Can't find anyone good. :\

I fought a Sonic who literally just did that charge move the entire game. He killed himself most of the time.

Another round, I fought a Mac who just did the dash attack and side b the entire time. I just waited it out until he SDed. It was kind of sad.

Compare that to yesterday night where I had a pretty good challenge. Maybe it's the time of day or something.

I absolutely adore Smash Run, but I wish they made it so the custom bags would stay exclusive to whoever you're playing as. More grinding for everyone involved*, but it'd encourage players to try everyone out.

*Unless they actually implemented a custom shop or something. Oh well.

Anything is good with me

Did I mistype your FC, I think you didn't join the room yet? I thought I added you but maybe I got the code wrong…

Edit: oh. darn :-( i don't think i can do anything about that... got two other people in the room so I don't think there's much I could tweak on this end.

There is a 3DS update available. I'm not sure if it won't let you play online if you don't update your 3DS, so just a heads up.

Basically, it feels like there is no input delay. I didn't really experience lag spikes over the weekend.

DaBoss, is that a new update since the launch day one? or just the 1.02 patch that came out last week.

Golden Slumbers, if you still can't join my game, try making the room and we'll see if we can join you, I guess?

I can't deal with this lag online. It completely kills the fun.

It's not unplayable like Brawl was but it's still terrible, at least in my experience.

I wish I could live in your world where every single thing is amazing. Sadly, I find Smash Run to be the absolute worst part of the game. It's just not fun at all.
There are plenty of things I don't like in gaming. I just don't feel like talking about them, which is why you generally only hear about what I like. :-)

For me, Smash Run is fun for a number of reasons:

1) It's easy to pick up and play. Choose a character, and off you go. Five minutes of constant rewards!

2) You constantly make progress. You get faster as you run; you jump higher as you jump. Every enemy you defeat showers you with stat boosts. Everything you do powers you up, and you feel the difference as you play. You start off having to double-jump to low platforms when using heavy characters, but by the end of the five minutes, you can clear two platforms in a single bound.

3) The variety is astounding. So many enemies, and each with such clever attention to detail. Many have multiple attacks, and unique weaknesses. And the enemies you encounter -- and the arrangements you encounter them in -- are randomized, so it's fresh every time you play.

4) The maze is HUGE, but navigable. I don't have the layout committed to memory, but I always feel like I can find my way eventually. The maze is also gorgeous, with the waterfalls, temples, etc., so it's scenic, too!

5) The pinball effect. Enemies are so satisfying to defeat in Smash Run, partly because of the way they ricochet around the room and defeat other enemies in the process. Also, if they fall offscreen, their stat boosts will land conveniently nearby. Very few enemies feel "bullet-spongy," and the ones that do are intentionally made that way (I.E. Polar Bear, Darknut, etc).

All in all, it's just a great way to farm for custom moves, bonus effects, headgear, outfits, etc. With regards to the event at the end, it feels more like a cherry on top of a delicious sundae, so I'm fine with its relative brevity. :-)

Oh didn't see this. I made a room if you guys wanna try that

i got impatient and started the match... this one is about to end so i'll try joining your room real quick when it's over

edit: nvm looks like you closed your room.

anyone else want to give this a shot? my FC is in profile. i just made the room again.

Argh, finally got my two characters' custom moves. I will never do Smash Run again. The stupid random nature and repeating prizes is such a turn off. I'm glad I'm only choosing to use 2 characters because it's really annoying.

The thing about Smash Run is that it's like a better version of the SSE's main game play just because it's more lightweight/doesn't require as much of an investment, plays up the series' traditional Randumbness™ in a fun way and when you get a good groove on , it's way more satisfying to run through than another go through classic or all star mode. The biggest issues it has however are that it's not online and cooperative/competitive, the loot drops are so wildly variable that it feels like you see more of other people's customs or ten of the one's you've unlocked already before making any progress, and Ornes, as always, are made of the finest bullshit. :lol
Aside from the duplicate drops, my only issue with Smash Run is that when you pause the game, you don't have much camera control. I'd like to take cool screenshots of the different enemies, but they restrict your ability to move the camera for whatever reason.

Smash Run for me really depends on what mobs were picked for the round. It's absolute hell to have those wheelie dudes from Brawl + Crygonal + Reapers + Bonzai Bills + Metroids. That's just really awful. But sometimes you get the Koopa + Goomba + Waddle Dees/Doos + Some other random fun enemies and it's a good time.

Some mobs are downright fun to beat up when they all can't just sit there and stun lock you for 5+ seconds and rack up 100+ damage while you are helpless to avoid it or get out.

I dunno, I've had pretty lag free matches so far -- even with emb it feels like it's offline to me.
