I dunno, the 3DS' D-pad is so mushy I'm not sure how much of an improvement it'd be. And how would you distinguish between tilts and smashes?

You can't. I played Brawl with a Wiimote, so I never used tilts anyway. It's just a lot easier for me to play with it, I'm just surprised the option to use it isn't even available.

Keep forgetting Mr Game & Watch is Nintendo's first character...the forgotten hero.

Nintendo's Oswald the Rabbit!

Edit: and I don't like Bowser Jr in that little pod. I wish he was just as he is, like a mini Bowser. The comic humor and charm is lost.

I like it because that's how he appears in a lot of games, in his little pod. Specifically in Mario Galaxy as he never gets out to fight you. As though are my favorite games I'm glad he is the way he is.

Yep

I feel like Dale should be a gunner. He's the type of guy to put on an arm cannon and aim it at people.

Edit:

Shouldn't Dale be a Gunner?
I mean, he is an exterminator.

Beaten.

Dude, every fighting game - hell, every game - everything is centered in one thread. I understand you might find it annoying, but such is life. Same thing went for Mario Kart, same thing goes for Destiny and everything else.

Chill out, I'm just trying to help. And as someone who has been on GAF for 6 years, that is certainly NOT how it's handled for every game. If we have a dedicated thread to finding online matches, it will make finding online matches easier. It will also have the benefit of cleaning this thread up so that the actual game can be discussed.

Thanks for your opinion though.

Uhhh? you should discuss with people before you took action on your hand.

It's just a NeoGAF thread. I'm certainly open to any input, but I don't think that new threads have to be decided by committee.

Did you realized that you are killing this thread by segregating this thread?

So last night I got to try out Smash 3DS for the first time thanks to a friend. I played a round of Classic with Little Mac and a round of All Star with Shulk. Little Mac was pretty cool, I really liked his speed and power, but I feel I need some time against actual humans before I can judge him. As for Shulk, I think I can say I'm really feeling him. His range is quite appealing and his stances don't seem too difficult to use, though I did just find out last night that each stance has an individual cooldown, and not knowing that ahead of time lead to a few near-deaths while I fumbled with stances confused as to why the color I wanted wouldn't show up. Nonetheless, he felt great, and I'm really happy that one of my most hyped characters is actually looking like he might be one my mains.

I'll get another chance to play tonight, so next I'm gonna try Robin and Duck Hunt, then maybe some vets like Toon Link, Game & Watch, and Jigglypuff.

Would anybody wanna try a few matches of 2vs2? I am playing with my brother so I will give you both friend codes if you are interested. He has to leave soon so maybe we can get a few matches of 3 stock. Let me know!

This game probably has the worst stage roster of any Smash to date. I don't know why, but Sakurai's insistence on overpowering stage hazards is getting ridiculous. It's either stages with insta-kill hazards that can cover half the stage, stages with absurd gimmicks, and a bunch of Final Destination skins, with very little in between. I think this Smash, more than ever, demonstrates that a stage hazard switch is a necessity.

The Yellow Devil and the Flying Man are funny the first time, but beyond that they're just ridiculous.

Okay so, started practicing WFT, and she's godly.

Great aerials, and amazing Sun Salutation. Fully charge it, Deep Breath, good kill move.

So I can use Robin, Mac, Mario, MetaKnight, and now WFT somewhat proficiently. :D

Gonna open a room in a little bit to try her online, so if anyone wants in, give a shout. :)

I like the stages for the most part - they certainly look great. The flying man though... I have no idea how the fuck that made it into the final game.

I wasn't that crazy about Awakening, but Robin is so fun to play, and such great FE rep. May even be my favorite newcomer.

I love everything about Robin. I wasn't planning on using him at all until I did classic mode with him, and instantly fell in love with his style. They got him down to a tee. Pretty fun to trap people in Arcfire in For Glory and both his back and forward air are amazing.

I also love how he uses Bolganone in his final smash. Took me a while to notice but once I heard the shout, my body was full of glee.

I like the Flying Man. I think it makes that stage unique since it adds a specific area of the stage that you want to control until he shows up because doing so gives you a sizable advantage.
