It's the stupidest freaking thing. I want someone to ask Sakurai... "Why can't you set the item rate?... Why do I have to play with items out the ass if I want to try to have fun with items?"
Your 3DS will explode (it would run like shit) if they allowed you to set the item rate higher. And the item rate in the demo was like Brawl's lowest setting lol.

Hey SmashGAF! I'm super excited for Smash 3DS. I'm inexperienced in the series but am so hyped for the iteration.

Looking to expand my friend roster so please add me. (And drop me a PM saying you did!

Have fun tonight those who are downloading.

Fucking hell, that massive USK logo, AND the PEGI 12 logo..

The back of the box is horrific, it's like 80% useless, warning text. Ouch man. :/

Also, since the game is here now:

Thank you, SmashGAF for the best year and four months of pure HYPE I have had on the Internet. I've never been so deeply involved in a game's development and release before, but you guys really knocked it out of the park, it's fair to say I'm really feeling it! From the mass hype over reveals, to the mass disappointment, and countless Rahdlee 2 big!1111 jokes, it's been an endless roller coaster with you guys. The community has been solid, and getting to know y'all this past year and a bit has been a pleasure. So, let the release of Smash 3DS and upcoming Smash U be a great one! Let's enjoy the game and keep the candle alive until the next series of Smash!

Now.. it's time to settle it in Smash!
tomorrow for us physical peeps

Let's get physical physical lol
Be surprised if anyone gets that lol

I'm curious: in previous Smash games, what did everyone set the item spawn rate to? 'Cause the spawn rate in the demo doesn't feel too high to me at all. It doesn't bother me at all that you can't adjust the rate.

That's one of those songs that's just timeless. No one is too young to get that reference :p

it sucks for some items because they all seem to have different rates. For instance smash balls take a while to spawn and the special flag almost never spawns.

In that regard, though, this game's no different from previous installments. The relative spawn rate of individual items was always fixed; you could only change the overall spawn rate.

Besides, the special flag being anything other than super-rare would lead to more salt than tripping in Brawl.

Lol

Getting it from the eshop right now through 3G phone-tethering while on the nighttrain back from work.

If not on the train I can at least play the moment I step through my frontdoor.

Special flags on high could be fun potentially. Maybe on WiiU.

If I have the eshop open on my 3ds before the release time will it update itself to show that Smash is out and can be downloaded?

I leave work for home in 3 1/2 hours, then two hours later I can start downloading this game.
Then infinity hours later the download will finish and I can actually start playing. Gonna finish some Hyrule Warriors while it's downloading.

It won't. Maybe you can go back and forth between pages to make it update, but the way I do it is close the eShop and re-open it again.

So whats the first thing you guys are going to do?

For me, its going to be turning off tap jump.

Turn off Tap Jump, a few CPU matches with Mac, practice him, online.
