4 Players on a medium sized map is barely playable on a 2DS (it's my girlfriends, my XL is in repair for the analog stick). The screen is just too small to see what's going on if everyone is not on one side. 1v1 is doable but still not very clear when you're playing on both sides of the map.

And it still baffles me why they didn't allow for d-pad controls.
