I see. Can't say I care. Custom moves are banned in For Glory, so they are worthless for me.The rubbish ones. Cool ones, like ones hosted by me, will have all the cool rules.
Needless.. I dont need them. me and my friends wont be using them, alot of tournys wont and online for glory def wont be using them.
You should work on your charm. Charm works everytime or rather your speech. If nothing works just try to get angry (well if you talk to a guy which can take it). That always works. Also lie your way to victory with "This store and this one already sell this game... well then I will buy it there. Not my problem" <-- This is the golden way to the earlier games.
We will be using them here on gaf?

Going from the 3DS version to the Wii U version is going to be like that time in DBZ where Goku reveals he was wearing weights that were slowing him down and then takes them off.
Is there a way to allow custom moves but not any special items?
Thats the only tournament we having? Well I just want to participate in the ones without custom moves as thats where ill be putting my time into and learning my characters. Dont care for customs unless somebody want them on for fun and stuff with items then its whatever.Custom moves are needed to make certain characters not-shit as well as add some actual variety to the damn game.
I mean if you get a character that only has a few good moves to use, atleast we can let people use custom moves and actually have potential for their own signature playstyle for that character rather than "Do the same thing as everyone else, because that's the only thing that works with this character".
Yes, they're going to be legal in the tournament where I give away a capture card, they're going to be legal in the online event mode stuff I'm going to do and they're going to be legal in quite a few things other gaffers end up doing.
They're going to be used a lot, there's no logical reason not to use them.

Cool guess ill participate in that oneThe only GAF tournament I've seen not allowing them is the troubled bat one, I'm pretty sure the rest are ok with it.

I'm a little bit disappointed, but I'm still pre-ordering. It's just not going to be as good a game as I'd hoped, content-wise. It still seems like a good enough engine, and the characters look fun enough that I can justify owning a portable Smash. Here's hoping beyond hope that the Wii U version has an amazing level of single-player content. Smash Wii U needs to have
More challenges than ever - perhaps 480, four panels, one for the four main Smash characters (Mario, Link, Pikachu, and Kirby)
Event Mode w/ co-op (but make it GOOD, not like Brawl - I want some really awesome and creative events!)
Adventure Mode - Straight up return to Melee's style, but on a grand scale
Target Test, w/ 51 stages
(optional) Board the Platforms, w/ 51 stages
(optional) Battlefield Mode
(optional) Characters unlocked through linking the 3DS and Wii U versions (though it'd be pretty annoying :v maybe it would be a bonus at the time for those who owned both versions, and single-version owners could buy them as DLC?)
Alright, I would like to participate in tourneys, not sure how that would workThat one also restricts it to only female characters, it's more of a gimmick tournament really.
Nope, I think they just get posted in here.
Stages with platforms are also banned in For Glory.
Good thing I main peachThat one also restricts it to only female characters, it's more of a gimmick tournament really.

whats next they have to be brunettes? lol
In my hype for Smash 4, I've been desperately trying to play/finish up some Nintendo games.
Metroid Prime 2
Wind Waker HD (finished before)
Earthbound (been at the beginning forever)
Mario 3D Land (gold flags and Luigi)
Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
Xenoblade (sorry kitty)
Link Between Worlds (haven't started yet)
Hyrule Warriors came and ruined everything, and got me all hype on Zelda again, so I turned back on Wind Waker HD and I'm now to the wonderful Triforce hunt.
I really want to finally play ALBW, so should I just shut off WW for now and dig into that? I'm free the next few days so I've got time. Also, will my experience be better if I finish LTTP first which I regrettably never have and lost my data? Arg it's so hard to choose because I know when Smash comes out all my attention will go to it. I'd really like to really dig into Earthbound too.
Also, what games are YOU playing Gaf in Smash hype?
Do you think we will have trailers for Duck Hunt and Bowser Jr?

So?Stages with platforms are also banned in For Glory.
You "no custom moves" guys are no fun.
Just see/ask what moves they have. Problem solved. There are plenty of reasons to not use them competitively so please don't let your own bias somehow dictate the "logical" flow of things.
I'll start, custom moves add too many unknowns. If if does end up being 2-stock, 5-minute Smash games, that might promote campy/defensive play. Rather than knowing exactly what your opponent can do and being able to react accordingly, players might be hesitant to go on the aggressive because they have no idea what is going to happen when the opponent presses B. So, games would slow down before every B move is used, which just won't happen.
Fighters are fun because players know how the mechanics work, they know what their opponents can do, and it becomes a dialogue in that regard. Custom moves change the meanings of words to the point where it becomes hard for the players to understand each other. This will most likely push players to not pursue that dialogue as actively.
Custom moves are a nice idea, but competitively there are a lot of problems.

Pure bullshit. Custom moves increase offensive options in almost all scenarios. No one in MvC3 just sits back to wait and see what assists were picked. You go in with your game plan aggressively. There are plenty of reasons to not use them competitively so please don't let your own bias somehow dictate the "logical" flow of things.

Banning items and 90% of the stages is okay, but banning custom moves is a terrible idea. You "no custom moves" guys are no fun.
lmaoI just wish that ZSS wasn't one of the chars that can get a guaranteed hit on Wario, it'd be a lot more justifiable.

Exactly! How you gonna ban some stuff but not others? Contradiction up the tailBanning items and 90% of the stages is okay, but banning custom moves is a terrible idea.

As far as I'm concerned, online tournaments for Smash 3DS shouldn't have customs because you can't tell if they have equipment.
I don't ban anything.Exactly! How you gonna ban some stuff but not others? Contradiction up the tail
That's a good way to get yourself disappointed with those list.
Why stop there. Add Stage Builder and Create An Events where y'all can trade and upload the events for people to clear it or so.
