I can't help but feel bad for Capt. Ron Johnson. He obviously means well, but he's clearly being used by his superiors. How can they not give him all the information that is going to be made public before it's released?

You mean one of his buddies back at the station hit him over the head? He was so out of it he couldn't write his own police report?

According to the report, he asked for several boxes and then tried to pass one to his friend. The clerk saw this and called him out on it, so that's when he grabbed the rest, pushed the clerk away, and took off.
There was a female witness to this who was the one who called 911.
He was actually asked about this during the press conference earlier today. He basically said he didn't know why he didn't get the information before the public.
That happened in Virginia.WHAT??? Damn!!!!
What state are you at, brother?
Its a silly reference but that video is going to be a major distraction, its going to be even harder to get a fair trial. Are you trolling us?

Stormfront's getting into the docu-drama market? Waaaaaaa.....Ferguson Police Department: Writers Wanted
Mike Brown had just stolen a pack ofcigarillosCubans and was strolling down the middle of the street like he owned the place. Policeman Darren Wilson, a loving husband and father to 2.5 honor roll kids, was on patrol, trying to keep the streets safe, and presently he pulled up cautiously to the hulking Mike Brown and his accomplice.
"Hey fellas, would you mind keeping off the roads? Thanks."
Mike Brown stared at the officer. "Get fucked, pig."
Darren Wilson felt less than human under Brown's gaze. He pulled away, when a call came over his radio. "Store robbery reported, large black male suspect." Darren looked in his rearview mirror. There were not only one but TWO black males! Surely one of them might be the suspect, or at least know them in this tight-knit colored community! Wilson threw his car into reverse, pulling aside the negroes, and asked if they knew anything about any robberies.
Suddenly, Mike Brown took an aggressive step toward the vehicle! Lunging through the window, his black hands went instinctively for the cop's gun, a trait passed down in the Black Gene to all black males. Darren Wilson feared for his life, and accidentally fired the gun at Mike Brown.
Mike Brown staggered back, and started to run. Officer Wilson couldn't believe it... how could he run after being shot? Surely he was on the African Rage Drug, and if he got out into the community... God only knew what rampage he could go on then.
Thinking of his wife and children back home, Mr. Wilson fired another shot, striking Mike Brown in the back. "Surely that will be enough to end this menace," Darren thought, but his eyes widened as the giant black figure turned around, a sneer on his lips. Darren couldn't believe it... how could he still be standing....?
Unless...
He was inhuman?!
Officer Wilson gritted his teeth, knowing that his time had come. Clearly the animals in Ferguson had been working on this monster for some time, and were about to unleash him on unsuspecting white suburbs.
Knowing it was likely futile, Officer Wilson fired his weapon, crying out for God's help. It felt like it took so many bullets... but finally the demon fell. Darren fired at the downed body, just to be sure. Darren put his gun back in his holster, wondering when the president would call him and thank him for saving America. In the meantime, though, another call came in over the radio. Some dangerous foreigners wielding cameras were shooting policemen with them. It seemed an officer's work was never truly done.
That's the vibe I got as well. I hope he gets some promotion out of this though.
Releasing this footage was a brilliant idea if the goal was to make the dead kid look like a thug to the general public. People around me are already going like "Of course! I knew something like that would come to light eventually! It's always the case with these people in the end!" This isn't even some small town, either. It's SoCal FFS.
Depressing...
Hey now. Rewrites and revisions take time.MSNBC ticker "Police still refusing to release reports from Brown shooting".
How transparent of them.
"Your honor, my client had no way of knowing that the deceased was not one of the so-called 'X-men'.""He said don't shoot, but he was still running. The question is to where? If he truly had nothing to fear and if he wasn't going to be a danger to someone else, he would have just stopped!"
FUUUUUUUU-
Definitely. The chief knew exactly what he was doing when he released the tape today. It's character assassination, plain and simple.
I was at a funeral earlier and pretty much everyone there who was talking about it said "well, at least the truth finally came out!"
Man, they REALLY pissed off the media on this, didn't they

As plenty of have said earlier, I'm glad that a few outlets like MSNBC are grilling the fuck out of these guys, but I can't help but to wonder how on the ball they would've been about it if no reporters were arrested two nights ago.

There are a lot of pissed off people that are very upset that it looks like Brown did in fact commit a crime. Even after the friend's lawyer admitted that the robbery took place we continue to have posters concoct stories of how "he tried to pay" or "he only had 100's" or "the time stamps screwed with." The police report of the robbery gave a figure of $48 in merchandise stolen. Thanks for the account. Hadn't heard those details. Why did I hear he tried to pay for the merchandise though? Was no money ever shown?
I am about to die in hereAny potential Negro witness needs 2 white persons to vouch for him before we can accept Negro testimony.

It only means something in that in the officer's trial the defense can use this as motive if they try and present a story that the officer was attacked. Brown obviously knew he had just robbed a store so his mindset would be different when approached by a cop, regardless if the cop knew or not. He possibly thought the cop knew.Again, what does Brown stealing have to do with being gunned down? People are allowing the smear campaign to succeed.

The media wouldn't be going so hard if the cops hadn't roughed up those two journalist.
Wow
So I last visited this thread when there were report of riots and looting. I'm not gonna lie, GAF is my main news source for this sort of thing but this is a long thread so don't crucify me for asking potentially stupid questions, I'm catching up and don't know everything that's happened.
Now there's (alleged?) video of Brown stealing (cigars/cigarillos?) on the same day (?) he was shot. There seems to be some confusion over whether or not the policeman who shot Brown was aware of this when the incident happened. One of the damning things for the police officer is that Brown was supposedly quite far from the police car when he was shot, and that he was shot numerous times. Is there actually a know number of times he was shot? Am I right in thinking there are apparently two eyewitnesses who said they saw him run?
One of my main questions is how on earth is it, as some are saying on recent pages, not relevant to the shooting that Brown committed a crime the same day. Putting aside the emotional "this is being used to make him look like a thug" thing; sure, it no doubt is. But that doesn't mean it's not relevant to the case in hand. In what court would you ignore that?

I thought a few hrs ago that Wilson stopped because he saw Brown carrying cigars? Was that redacted?
