Is Need For Speed that last arcade racer left? Everything else is a driving game on tracks.
We have The Crew coming this year as well.

this is like a thread discussing the production quality of a new record after hearing it through some kid's iphone speaker on the bus.
are the windshield reflections from the e3 build gone, or are the just not noticable during the night?
Exactly, anyone in the know about framerate knows that 60fps isn't just twice the resources. Its a lot more demanding than running at 30. i don't think this game looks too much better than forza to warrent OMG THIS SMOKES EVERYTHIIING....at 30fps.
I'm seeing jaggies, a lot, for example
I dunno, it's hard to even see what to get excited at when the game looks so similar to other racing IP's.
But you can't blame YouTube for the quality. YouTube does not compress the videos nearly as heavily as these videos.
Just take a look here:
Now that is just the first 1080p video I found and is shot with a phone so its already a bit rubbish straight form the source, but the quality is leagues above the DC videos.
Well it's not this, but it still looks pretty good.

I so wish Evolution had made a new Motorstorm instead of this.
Apocalypse was the best one yet.
PBS + driving game rocks.
This looks VERY impressive. I'll pick that over 60fps any day.

Wow.I think after DriveClub fails to set the chart on fire they will have to if they're not closed down.

Oh, you are so right. You drive cars around roads! How original. Evolution pls.I dunno, it's hard to even see what to get excited at when the game looks so similar to other racing IP's.
I don't know which IP, Grid does racing decently I guess.
Racing in GT and Forza, sure you can do it online, but the thing with Drive Club is they bring that aspect to the next level.
I want to race man. Racing all day long.
How is it any different to any other racing game?
I've only seen the two gameplay videos, there's nothing special in the racing there.
@Buzz17091991 We think 6 is the optimal number, but it's something we'll be monitoring after launch & listening to players for feedback on.
https://twitter.com/Rushy33/with_replies@Cidi84 We would love to suppport Fanatec wheels, but they aren't currently supported on PS4.
Holy shit!
When will there be an affordable wheel/pedal PS4 peripheral?

this is amazing and makes the package of physically correct material rendering and the lighting system a big step above what we have seen in project cars.
Forza looks like a last gen game compared to DC. The main problem is lighting, it makes Forza cars look like plastic toys.
Yeah, because the Motorstorm titles really set the charts alight themselves...I think after DriveClub fails to set the chart on fire they will have to if they're not closed down.
I think the t80 is overpriced for what it is, just a belt inside with no force feedback as far as I can tell?![]()

This and much more expensive Thrustmaster T500RS [best wheel on the market] are compatible with DriveClub. If they dont support Driving Force Pro, DFGT, G25 and G27... they are failing at life. Hard.
I totaly disagree. I agree forza looks crap on videos but after seeing it running on a properly calibrated tv it looks fantastic. The top gear track has lighting that looks closer to real than I have seen in nearly any other video game
So you've seen the latest build of DC on a 'properly calibrated TV' then have you?I totaly disagree. And yet you're happy to judge Driveclub by couple of shoddy Youtube videos?

I totally disagreed with the opinion of forza looking last gen with lighting etc. Im judging this game on what I see and the fact it is running at 30fps

We can tell it has good lighting and that it has cars...
No FF?!? Fuck that.I think the t80 is overpriced for what it is, just a belt inside with no force feedback as far as I can tell?
I just want my DFGT to work :-(
Wow.
He's not wrong. They where almost shuttered after apocalypse (due to bad release timing with a tsunami in japan) and driveclub, just like any racer bar forza and GT is hardly going to sell gangbusters, certainly not enough to justify the year delay and year of extra expenditure. then you factor in the fact they are putting out a PS+ version, which will satisfy most casual racers needs.
Now, whether evolution or sony have factored all that in, and a small amount of sales would be considered a success for them, i don't know. But it seems unlikely.
So the question is, will sony give them another chance with a franchise that sold progressively less (motorstorm) make a new IP that will potentially fail in a harsh market (driveclub) or will they be downsized to make smaller arcade releases that have been profitable (RC)....or...will driveclub be their last game?
I intend to buy this game. But i DO NOT think it will be profitable.
I think after DriveClub fails to set the chart on fire they will have to if they're not closed down.

I hope/think it will be profitable. People will want a game to show off their PS4 capabilities and this will be it for a while. And it will be a riot of fun on top of it. Also, they need to make Wipeout.

Unfortunately Logitech dropped their console peripheral division
Really? Forza 5 looks like a last gen game compared to Drive Club?
So youre honestly telling me that if you took 100 average gamers and showed them footage of Forza 5 and then Drive Club the majority would think that Forza 5 was made for hardware a whole generation behind?
You can honestly say that with a straight face?
What a ridiculous statement.
Put me in the camp that thinks that DriveClub looks great, but not so amazingly great that it should be running at 30 fps (especially on the superior PS4 hardware).
Wonder how it'll compare to Forza Horizon 2 (assuming that Horizon 2 also runs at 30 fps)
