Hi Vitagaf! I've been a lurker for a lot of time and I use to read this thread almost every day, since when it was the general Vita thread. Finally, my account has been activated! :D

What's wrong with an offline PSO2?

There's nothing wrong with PSO2

But then you consider the fact that they tauted it as a rather big project.
And that they even hired to a well-established developer, tri-Ace.

If it plays exactly like PSO2 like they're saying it will (and with seemingly assets from PSO2), then that's a huge bummer for me. It's like a missed opportunity given all the other things they said.

Much more when you can already play PSO2 itself on Vita. (
inb4 But PSO2's not released in English! Neither is PSNova announced for English release. Higher possibility, sure, but let's leave that for another discussion.
)

http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/000/717/717483/

都築靖之 (Kunichiku Nobuyuki?) mentioned that the reason they chose tri-Ace was that they wanted to make a new Phantasy Star Nova. tri-Ace's history on SciFi RPG with vast world view was the reason he chose them as dev partners.

I'm clinging to Yamashita's words:
山下:もっと見せたいんですが、よりクオリティを上げて、期待を膨らませられるようになってから披露します。続報に期待してください。
Yamashita: I want to show more, but we want to raise the quality more, and present it when it's able to fill you with expectations . Please look forward to the next news.

I'll still get it coz it's Phantasy Star, but yeah...

Oh, and it has Sawashiro Miyuki. You guys should import!

Speaking from a Vita pov I don't think it's worth investing in if you don't want to start clean on a new account (if you don't mind that and staying on a US account most of the time though go nuts) but for PS3/PS4 it's a great compliment to my AU account with cheaper pricing on the US store and everything still being playable on my main account. I got one a few months ago and wont go back to the Australian store for PS3/PS4 games unless there's a good sale on, it's not too much of a price increase or servers are based on what version you buy (EU, US being separate)

If you do make one though make sure you get a proper e-mail linked to it you can remember the details for. I make the mistake of not doing that with my Jap account and can't play Rockman 1-3 PS1 anymore :(

Ha, thank you for reminding me to use a proper email address. Went back on the EU account where I was using my main address and switched that one for an old one :p
That way I'm all set, US is now my main account and linked to my main email address \o/
Let the savings begin. And FFX earlier, yay.

The only downside that is seriously annoying me is that I can't use my usual username and had to add a letter, but it's a small price to pay I guess :p

Hi everyone. Bought a OG Vita last year, the Walking Dead version, with a 4gb memory card. Spent a lot of time managing my space, then I gave up and bought a 32gb card. It was worthy in the end, and since then I transferred a lot of PS1 games, especially RPGs, from my PS3 to the Vita. They are in no specific order: Arc the Lad 1,2,3; Wild Arms 1,2; Xenogears; Front Mission 3; Vagrant Story; Breath of Fire 4; Alundra; Metal Gear Solid 1; R4 Ridge Racer Type 4; Harvest Moon: Back to Nature; Saiyuki: Journey West; Legend of Mana; Grandia; Final Fantasy Tactics; Final Fantasy Origins; Final Fantasy V; Final Fantasy VII; Final Fantasy VIII; Final Fantasy IX.

For the PSP I got Dissidia Duodecim, Final Fantasy 3 and IV Complete Collection, Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together.

For the Vita I got only a small amount of games, which are Persona 4 Golden (the reason I bought the system), NFS: Most Wanted and Killzone Mercenary. Bear in mind that almost all those games I bought when they were cheap, because I don't actually have a lot of money (the same reason that I still don't have Final Fantasy VI, because I never found that game on a promotion yet).

About the system, I really liked it, coming from a 3DS. I am a handheld player at heart, and most of my time playing are on handhelds (even at home). The screen is beautiful (dat OLED), and the experience with apps like Skype and Web Browsing were nice. However, the good phase lasted not much, since after I downloaded Killzone Mercenary my battery went haywire. I can't remember if that happened after patch 3.01 (heard some people complaining about that patch on the web), or before it. Now I use my Vita a lot less, because the battery goes from full / half full to empty for some seconds. I already tried to format the system, rebuild the database, discharge the whole battery and let it charge for almost a day, and another couple of things. Since my warranty is now over, I am trying to just keep it going, until it becomes unbearable.

About the future, I plan on buying Danganronpa 1 and then the sequel when it becomes available, and FFX+X-2 HD soon, but this month I spent quite a lot of money on the VC and I'm waiting on the deliver of my Tharja figure, so those games will have to wait. I hope Freedom Wars get localized, because I really liked what I saw about the game.

Sorry about the spelling, english is not my native language.

I'm getting kinda frustrated over the lack of info for Minecraft and Borderlands 2. They will be (most likely) the biggest titles the Vita will have this year, so getting no info at all is sort of concerning. We've had some buzz about BL2 recently, but no palpable footage or gameplay impressions.

You won't get mainstream games from the west. Forget it, not even 3DS get those. Better hope that the console continues to peak in Japan like recently and we get more and more announcements from there.

West = Indies/PSN, if you're not a console.

So having bought PDf last week and it being my first Vocaloid game, I'm actually thinking about importing PDf 2nd on release.

Are there any problems concerning that or is it "only" no DLC.
I would still get patches "should" there be anything wrong right?

I've really been on a buying spree in the last few month when it comes to my vita, this year alone I have bought 5 retail games and 8 digital games .... this handheld is ruining me :p

Patches work perfectly for imported games. You should be fine as long as you don't care about DLC.

P4G goes on sale all the time so that can wait. Tearaway is a great game and so is FF. I'm picking up FF because I can't wait to replay them. Go with FF since it's two games :p
Also so Square Enix is encouraged to localize Type-0 and maybe do a XII HD

Tearaway, FFX, FFX-2, and Persona 4 in that order. Save the best for last.

There is really no easy way to get the full package right?
I could go digital with a second memorycard but the swapping between the different stores is still way to annoying imo.

I really wish they would just open the vita up to get access to the different stores without having to use different cards ... but who am I kidding this won't happen ...

I don't mind the Japanese invasion, as long as it's bears more fruit than pandering Compile Heart stuff. I just fear that a userbase as small as Vita's in the west won't be able to support localizations.

Holy crap, the vita slim speakers are face meltingly loud.

I noticed they were louder but I had never cranked them up all the way till just a bit ago while playing TxK. Friggen hell, they're loud. I feel like it's the audio equivalent of how people reacted to the DS lite screen when it first launched.

I would love to see a teardown of one of these units some time. I'm really curious as how they managed to improve the speakers as much as they did while still trimming down the thickness.

That's a valid reasoning. But considering the localizations we're seeing lately, I'm not too sure if it does matter if the device sells well or not for these localizations. As long as people keep buying software and the localizations give them niche money back, they'll keep coming.

The Vita can't be saved anymore.

They sure are. On the 1000 I used to have to crank them up to almost full to get the same volume I get from half the bar full on the 2000.

Does the volume also increase if you plug in a headset/earphones/headphones?

I hate how the speaker and headphones volume setting are not separated on the Vita. So many time where I accidentally put my headphones on max volume. :/

So how did you spend your $60 on US PSN for the $10 promotion?

I purchased:

Toukiden (Vita) - $40
Muramasa Rebirth DLC 1&2 (Vita) - $10
Dead Space 3 Awakened DLC (PS3) - $10
PSN avatar - $0.5 (just in case... was 4 cents short without this)

Been keeping an eye on those DLCs for a while, and this promo was good enough a reason to pull the trigger.

Strangely, I found MH series to be boring in the past, but simply fell in love with Toukiden after playing the demo.
Hope the full game is worth the asking price!

Going to get FFX HD $39.99. No clue what I should buy for the remaining $20.01 lol

Awww yes, I just got my account activated. Wasn't as bad as I thought; just a 2 week wait.

Anyways, my first post just has to be in the Vita thread (or what's left of it). I've been lurking here since launch and often wanted to join the discussions, but for some reason never pulled the trigger. Well, that's amended now. You can bet you'll be seeing me chime in here and there where the Vita is concerned. I just love the system, and am glad to be on a board where that sentiment seems to be shared by many others.

So moving on to what I've been doing recently with my Vita, I acquired the platinums for Danganronpa and Persona 4 Golden, and am now debating between playing Terraria/Lone Survivor or getting the platinum in Uncharted. The choice would be easier if I can find some Vitabros/cats/whatever to play Terraria with... (My PSN ID is Ventara).

Took me 3 weeks to get mine activated. Welcome to the club :D

Probably a dumb question but... I have $59.99 in my account due to a refund; I'm guessing I would have to spend at least a cent more to quality for the promotion?

You should be fine. Let me look for the quote.

Btw, just to make sure, you need to spend that $59.99, not just have it on your account.

While I don't doubt any of my fellow GAFfers in this matter, to be on the safe side I recommend getting one more content to be a little over $60.

I want to take part in the spend $60 promotion but my Vita's memory card is already cramped. :( Need to find a good deal on a bigger one.
