PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

MHFU can have a second analog if you play it on Vita... I can't even imagine trying to play what I did of it using "the claw"...
Yeah the Vita definitely improves the experience. Although the way the camera is mapped to the stick is a bit off sometimes.

They'd also benefit from online modes and not just ad hoc, but that's been fixed since MH4 on the 3DS.

At least I just have to finish up the back to origins levels now... then I can be irritated by the difficulty of getting that unique online trophy and the grind to get 1 million lums and hit level 10.

That is what I am in the middle of at the moment, I was lucky enough to find a level that I was good at and managed to place in the Top 10 for the Platinum about a week ago...

I still have over 200K lums to collect... but still needing that final level of Awesomeness, which is Lvl 11 btw! ;)

Still think I'm about 1500 points away from that... playing off and on, I'm hoping that I will have that before 2015 comes around! :)

It's on my top5, but I totally understand why people draw similarities with XIII. Still, X had more variety (towns, puzzles, more NPCs) and a story that doesn't need you to go to the enciclopedia every 5 minutes

Puzzles were insanly stupid in FFX - that's one part of game i definitely didn't miss in FFXIII

regarding FFX and Rayman Legends and any other title that applies. i dont get why so many people spent hours and hours and forced themselves to finish a game they ended up hating and saying later " the worst game in history , and such blasfemys" if a game keeps you for more than 10 hours the game is good. becouse the objective is complete . That is entertain you.

Also , i dont get the pople that hate MGS3 ,really , you cannot like the genre , the saga , whathever but that game is one of the best pieces or art in gaming history. The direction it takes , the story , the ending , is just a Legend. And you should buy it in a Vita and do not listen to the people that says is not worthy on the machine.

I don't know, sometimes a game's story can be so awful you want to see how they can possibly wrap it up. That doesn't mean it's good, but it does mean it's entertaining (in an awful kind of way.)

There are plenty of films I've watched that are so, so bad in so many ways but I've stuck it through due to their being nothing else on the telly and the sheer ridiculousness making it hypnotic. Car-crash entertainment.

Time spent not liking a thing is a better usage of time and money, than not giving said thing time at all. You've spent money on this thing, you have an obligation to yourself to get your moneys worth out of it. Also, if you don't finish the game all the way through your run into fallacys with any arguments you have about it. It's difficult to counter the "You Didn't Finish It" card.

In my opinion, the primary objective isn't to have fun, it's to have an experience of some kind. The Last of Us wasn't fun, but it did evoke a response. Horror games aren't fun either, but I still find worth in pushing through them.

Also, my rationale for never dropping any anime is, that someone needs to tell everyone else what the bad ones are. If I don't watch them all the way through, I won't know if they are all the way bad or have any redeeming qualities. There's a couple of shows that surprised me, including one Stella C3.

Your welcome.

Ahahahahaha.

I am not really a platformer player :)

probably not even worth it at this point, just wait for the inevitable PS4 version. then you don't have to buy a shitty console and sell it once you finish G rank like I did.

Well, "shitty console" is going a bit too far IMO, hahaha. Because...

You're never getting a Wii U then.

...it has some amazing looking games, maybe someday I'll change my mind. Maybe Zelda and X since I am such a huge, huge, and I do mean 200 hours huge Xenoblade fan.

I don't know, sometimes a game's story can be so awful you want to see how they can possibly wrap it up. That doesn't mean it's good, but it does mean it's entertaining (in an awful kind of way.)

You gotta admit though that spending 100 hours for something that only by then you realized you are hating your every moment in it is... really something else, hahaha.

The film could be bad but the fact that you watched entirely means the film is good in something , is entertainment and thats fun , as you say in an awkward kind of way. but even when you like or not something there is something real . The film or game can be good or bad for you but there is something to take into account. Objetivity. So when you recommend something to someone , you dont go" Is the worst game of history" becouse is probably not(maybe it is for you only), and also you have to see how much you like the genre , or the saga etc. So you say maybe : "if you dont like MGS then dont try it , if you like the genre try it" etc.

I will never recommend MGS to someone that cannot stand belic themes inside a game.
Or for example ,: i will not critic Madden games becouse i dont like them, so i cannot say anything more than "its not my cup of tea".

RE6 is only good for an extreme fan (that likes every RE) or for a casual gamer that can pick up any campaign and play a game with too much QTE and action to be a survival horror.
As far as production values RE6 spent a lot of money doing unnecesary exagerated secuences of action(that are very well made) .
So for me RE6 is an expensive car that cannot run , is just for show. The real experience is not there. Is flat and dull, but it looks good.

YES. and maybe watching a movie applies but if you all time watch all bad movies , probably you like them more than you think , the same at games. LOTS of complaining but those complaining spent money , play the games , finish them and maybe got the platinum. I understand the fact that you have to make the best out of the money you invest. But as LaughingBanana said , 50-100 hours are something else. You cannot possibly be so masochist with one game.

Kinda reminds me of Diablo 3 haters

This game sux
why ?
I've played it for 300 hours and it got boring
ok...

I lost all hype in X. Which was basically my system seller along with Smash. I'll only play X at this point if Nintendo can convince Scamco to put KOS-MOS in the game. But even with Smash, I'm weary in getting a WiiU for a myriad of reasons.

hahaha Yeah thats what i meant to say. the same people that spend 300 hours on it is the same people that was hyped before the game being released and is also the same people that Hate it right now...

I'm sure you mean "put kos-mos in Smash". I don't think you'll see her in X anytime soon.. :p

I want her in X ;_;

Kos-mos in smash would be amazing. She did appear on Nintendo hardware via super robot taisen, project x and xenosaga I + II

Fug, I mean if Snake can make it back in Brawl (albeit Kojima was "begging for him to be in it), then she should as well.

Well I've spent over 500 hours with Dota 2 and most of them were made out of rage and hate.

maybe you where bad or something , or maybe you cannot admit you where playing for fun .i have played twice the game and is not the kind of game i like so i never touch the thing again , but i have to admit the idea and strategic values of the game are really impressive.

no, I love the game. was half-joking there. my point is that you can absolutely get negative feelings out of something you actually like, it's even more likely to happen because you care.

same with dark souls: how often was I on the verge to delete the game because it infuriated me. that's something that will never happen with a sport game to me, I just don't care for those.

but the difference here is that you actually admit that you love the game , and the other people does not. thats what i meant , if you spend 100 hours in a game , there is no possibility of being a game that you can call "the worst game in history" or something like that

Strider was freaking awesome. I played and beat it on the PC, but its on PS3 and PS4, def. get it. Normal is good, Hard is prob. what you'll want to play for a challenge.
The bosses are the BEST part of the game.

Yeah, sadly. I think I searched the whole metropolis (Metro Manila is huge) for three consecutive days but the game is pretty much sold out. I didn't anticipated the thirst for a MH like game here in my country. Now I know why so many people I know before who has a PSP now has a 3DS/3DS XL. Now I can see them on the stores near me but I can't buy them. But hey at least I get to live for a few more days because of it.

hmm go Digital man! and just buy a memory card, pay that crazy tax once (not just Sony tax but your country's import tax)

I always get a kick out of the replies on any of bluemaximas update thingys in the live area. It's like I'm reading the playstation forums :lol

share some of them.. I need to add him

I too thought MH sucked till I played it on console. 3DS and PSP MH games are awful, don't be fooled.

glad I bought it on the WiiU then.. no I actually bought it on WiiU 3DS (digital and physical... idiot me)

WAIT
Stranger of the Village of the Sword
Cel Damage Remake

coming to VITA? :O

EDIT: damn I want to play that Phantom Breaker, Rogue Legacy... come on :O

and hey that Megaman Revival Kickstarter Project by inafune is coming to Vita too right?

I actually I don't need to import a memory card since the price is comparable to Japan. A 64gb here is priced at 4195php (~93.90usd) Click here with a next day delivery service. While in everybody's favorite Nippon Yassan is pegged at 9580 yen (~94.15 usd) + intl shipping. My problem now is my company delayed the release of my salary again for 10 days so I can't buy anything or I will be wrecked.

No it isn't. Just say "I didn't like what I played, and I have shit to do". ;)
I disagree. I like having a fully valid opinion that doesn't need to be prefaced with "I didn't finish but,". Someone has yet to fight me on this though. I have to wonder if my logic will hold up.

Quick, someone tell me Neir is a great game! That'll show me!
This is the day when I'm supposed to say:
New thread please!
This isn't good. Every time I close my eyes u see Lumines blocks.
Help.

Why would i need better argument than a game was bad than being unable to finish it out of boredom ?

Puzzles were insanly stupid in FFX - that's one part of game i definitely didn't miss in FFXIII

Well, I can't say they were inspired when designing those puzzles. But I have to say I prefer mediocre puzzles (if they do not include lots of backtracking / are really long) to nothing. The change of pace makes them worth imo.

Thanks. I love Hiryu, so I changed to this because Strider was releasing... and then I played the game. :(

And it seems that the 8-bit levels are more well done on the other platforms... it's merely the vita's small screen that really makes it insane.

They should have adapted those stages to the tiny Vita screen... but yeah, at least they added the invasions levels for free...

As far as FFX goes, it's not the worst FF in my book, but it's down there. :P

Yep, we already discussed about FFX some months ago xD

I wanted to like it... I wanted it to be like Dark Souls boss fights as quests that just kept getting harder. Watching some YT videos, it seemed like I'd like it so I grabbed MHFU for when I picked up my Vita... but it's too slow and there's not enough variety for me... maybe it really is good if you spend the time to get beyond the "startgame", but I just couldn't do it, much like trying to play FFV with Faris's speech file run through a pirate talk translator. :lol

After seeing how much I've liked Toukiden I think I may have to give another try to MH. People say both are quite similar, so I'm a little doubtful right now.

That Cel Damage game is an arcade racer, right? I looked for it on Google Images. And yep, Mighty 9 is gonna release on Vita.

You don't need to play the whole game. I tried really hard to finish Remember Me, but I wasn't enjoying the game at all. I wasn't that far from finishing it when I finally gave up. If you've played half the game, you have enough. If a 8 hours game is crap for 5 hours, sorry, but it's crap, no matter how good the two last stages are. You can't expect anyone to endure seeing/reading/playing more than half a series/book/game before it gets interesting. Forcing yourself to go through that kind of thing is stupid (not saying you're stupid xD), especially when most people here is complaining about their unlimited backlog and how they can't hold all those PS Plus games.

Is this legit Borderlands 2 vita footage? (first 15 seconds)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM7vLsTd124&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I'm pretty sure it's not - just zoomed-in footage from another platform (note the off-screen objectives) with a dodgy cursor added on later.

Well that's definitely not Minecraft footage. 4J haven't released ANY updates on the Vita version, much to my chagrin.

After Gamescom, literally nothing was said about Minecraft PS3 until a random day when they posted on the Blog with 'oh yeah, it's out next week'. I expect much the same with the Vita and PS4 versions.

My import copies of Yakuza Ishin and Dynasty Warriors 8 arrived today for the PS4. I've not tried Ishin yet as I've played the demo quite a bit and have just finished of Yakuza 3 so I'll save that for now. Dynasty Warriors 8 on the other hand was pretty disappointing, I expected 60FPS like Ishin as its not doing anything too taxing but part of me thinks the frame rate seems less stable than it was on the PS3. It also has some horrible depth of field blurring going on (which can thankfully be turned off) but otherwise its DW just like I remember it. Fun if you like this type of game, I just wish Koei put a little more effort to make the game run better like Sega did with Ishin.

Vita wise, I've been addicted to Gunslugs over the last day. Its an ace little run and gun game that reminds me slightly of Metal Slug. Its fairly short though, even with all the challenges and trophies it only took me a couple of hours to clear them all, but for £1.99 its well worth the asking price and I'm sure I'll keep going back to it. The level "hell" though is a complete pain in a ass for all the wrong reasons though, it feels cheap and unfair in places compared to the rest of the game (mainly because you can't see what the hell is happening half the time!)

Always pay in cash. Especially if you're in a mall anyways.

Eh maybe, I'd certainly like that. I'm just paranoid as they've released in-dev screenshots for both the XB1 and PS4 versions.

He seems to have mistakenly posted a few NES screenshots. Just a heads up.

Sorry, I posted before reading the whole page. I haven't played Rayman whichever the hell this one is, but that looks irritating as hell. I can appreciate tough stages, but that comes across as less good design and more

There's a clean version of those levels in the main game, if you play those a couple of times before then the obscured graphics aren't really a problem at all.
