PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

A few sneak peeks of new monsters, moves and black rites shown off in that vid. Nice to see another Leviathan type of stage.

Curious about the guy with the wolverine claws, and the black winged black right.
Since it doesn't seem like we're getting Delta in the west any time soon, I at least hope we get monsters and moves from this game in Soul Sacrifice 2 (even if it has to be dlc).

it'll be quite exciting to see more crossovers between SS and Toukiden actually :X

Just finished Limbo.

I loved the first half of the game, find the second half average and the ending (????) LOL.

It is a nice game, for sure, but WAY overhyped. Too short and it seems unfinished.

Bullshit.....my mp campaign for Wipeout just got wiped...again...was nearly on cup 18/20 :/

--restarted twice and it came back lol, phew

hmm anyone wanna chime in on the following?
(1) Castlestorm - Should I get this on PS3/Vita or WiiU?
(2) Stick it to the man
(3) Sumioni: Demon Arts (was not going to get it until I saw someone buy a Vita just for it...)
(3) Open Me!
(4) Orgahythm
(5) Proteus - it's like the only game missing from my Curve Studios collection lol

bought Malicious Rebirth, Flower and Flow for Vita <3

(2) Stick it to the man
I enjoyed this (and it's cross-buy), but it's VERY short. Main gripe really is unskippable dialogue (stopped me going back and completing an otherwise straightforward trophy list).

I paid about £3.50 I think and was happy with the purchase.

Stick it to the man is a simple but entertaining bizarre Saturday morning cartoon adventure game, I say go for that, I enjoyed what I played of it last time.

Technically you can skip dialog, on the PS3 I just had to hold the Right Stick to the right to fast forward. Been a long time since I played but you can fast forward the dialogs which finishes them within a second or 2.

Stick it to the man is also good. I can recommend it.
I got no. 4 before in the Asia PS plus. Did not like it. Patapon feels better than this.
Sumioni is a cool concept game. Though it can be such a drag since you have to start at the beginning to get all the endings (or save the game before the game branches and when you fucked up, close the game).

HELP GAF! My card that PSN accepts before is now rejected for some reason. I can't buy the games in my cart!

Is that true for the in engine cut scenes as well? Pretty sure I tried everything on the Vita without success. :(

I'll test out the Vita ver. later if I have the time.
Far as I know, on the PS3 ver. you can fast forward the non-cutscene dialog. Cutscenes can be skipped by holding a button IIRC.

You have my condolences. No amount of content would ever convince me to buy a C-tier rhythm game over Project Diva or DJMAX.

ZeroAKA i hate you!

I already have the ps3 version of project diva F, but now you got me interested in the Vita version :(

Insert Miku gif here.

That's an unfair gif man. That's from Extend, I think.

Cytus is quite good for its price. It has a varied playlist unlike PDf (Jap songs only) and DJMax (Kor songs only). I am a trophy fag so I didn't gave in. But from its trial, I can say it can stand on its own.

You find me a better Miku GIF then.
Seriously, I don't have enough.

Cytus is extremely imprecise in its song maps. It's like the devs didn't completely know what they were doing, so they implemented a huge time frame for people to tap on the notes and still get a Perfect. The whole game just doesn't feel right, and it's not very challenging even on the harder difficulties.

The varied music choices are pretty strong arguments for it. The part that kills it for me is the lack of feedback which makes it less enjoyable. I would also argue DJMax is pretty varied as well (different genres but possibly Korean artists?) So you can probably find something to like in either game. If you're not picking up on Vocaloid sound then it would be more difficult to get into. Good thing it plays well.

finally get to try unit 13 & monhun! awesome month!

dead nation could be a fun diversion for a little, too

is Unit 13 as awful as the demo lets on? I don't even think it's worth making space for on my mc

i heard it was good

do you have positive feelings towards anything btw? you always seem so down on everything

I feel ya. I'm only missing the co-op trophy for Uncharted 3 to get the plat, but I refuse to pay $5.99 for the co-op unlock. (Got Uncharted 3 from PS+)

Damn that sucks. Please Devs stop puttin these dumbass trophies in games (lookin at you Ed Boon :P)

Playing multiplayer is very fun. It's not a great game but it's interesting enough to give it a whirl in mp

I sold my copy once the multiplayer was basically dead so I'm glad I can get it again and ps+ might give me 2, maybe 3 other people to play with in the next month

is there any pattern to when they announce new sales for the EU PSN? I want to buy VLR, but I'm afraid it might go on sale over the next few days.

I have the game installed and did some SP quests. I don't think it's that bad, it sure was worth the 6€ I spent on it.

I really enjoyed Unit 13, actually. It reminded me of Socom meets a score-attack type of game, and it's a lot of fun in co-op. That said, it's not perfect, but I definitely don't regret buying it.

Walking Dead Season 2 is "...tracking for release towards the end of March" for the Vita according to Telltale.

So, ya know, in case you wanted to know that.

I'll buy it when the whole season is done. I cannot deal with waiting for new episodes, though I greatly enjoyed playing walking dead on the vita.

It's interesting that they're getting it out before the Season is done. I wonder if the episodes will then release day and date with the other versions or if they'll be delayed for some reason.

great IGC month all around.

honestly ps+ really keeps me from buying games.

was going to get TR:DE but i guess i'll settle for ps3 ver for free...

played a bit of dead nation on ps3, woulda liked to finish it so having on ps4 may be a fun time for some co-op with the fiance.

been waiting for either a low sale on unit 13 or free and what do you know - can't wait to give it a go.

twa and ls are nice to have - they are good games, but are one and done type of games (perfect for ps+)

mon hun is the least interesting to me

buying lumines and flower this week too.

let's do this March!

( now don't skimp on the saless this month sony!)

Tons. Toukiden is the shit (yet I'm salty that Vita owners are ignoring it) and I'm hyped as fuck for South Park and Dark Souls 2 in a couple weeks. I recently beat Rayman Origins on my Vita and loved it, and beat Legends last night on PS4 and thought it was good. Infamous and MGS5 will be swell deserts to those main courses next month as well. I'm just not a huge indie game fan and hate the way SCEA treats the Vita.

but back to Unit 13... the demo just screams generic shooter. sorry if I'm not thrilled to play it, even if 'free'

Teslagrad is coming to Vita.
They discuss how friendly porting to Vita is and how important Unity-support is.

"How has the overall porting process gone, Fredrik?
Fredrik: The first surprise when we first saw Teslagrad on PS Vita, was how much worked “out of the box”. That is, as soon as we had cut down the memory usage sufficiently to run at all. The touch screen emulates a mouse pointer, so no work was required there… and the buttons emulated a joystick. As soon as we had updated Unity and the Vita SDK to the latest version, all the shaders were compatible as well."

Why is PlayStation Vita the right choice for porting Teslagrad?
Fredrik: Luckily PS Vita hardware makes everything easier. For other systems, it’s not strictly impossible to port the game… but just way too much work. I think the key here is the native Unity support.

So Unity’s role is important here?
Fredrik: Well, Sony’s efforts for their Unity port has made life for us much easier. When porting to Vita, we’re mostly just having to “shrink” and optimise the game. In terms of the Vita hardware, I’m very thankful that there is 512MB memory on the thing. I expect that our main challenge with the PS3 will be the 256MB memory it has.

I have played it a bit and it's fun. It's good for short bursts, but it's nothing spectacular. The shooting elements are solid though, so you could get some enjoyment from it.

For free it's definitely worth a download. Got it for 5 dollars and I don't regret it.

It does. I own the game. Bought it once, play it on both systems.

why is it listed as PS3 only?

They always do that, and it's weird. :P We always get both versions of crossbuy games when they're free, though.

So we're actually getting three Vita games and a PSP game next month.

1. I didn't like it, mediocre and generic. Game plays best with touch so I wanted to say the Wii U because of the bigger screen and more accurate touchscreen but then I remembered there is no pinch to zoom, so choose what you think suits your needs better.

2. Also didn't like it. The adventure gameplay is tedious and boring, the jump and run/stealth part just not good. Humour is very hit and miss. Ran into some annoying glitches at release, don't know if they were patched.

3. Haven't played it but only heard bad things about it.

4. Cool AR showcase with some fun and clever puzzles. Can recommend it.

5. Never played it.

6. A nice experience. The random generated worlds are beautiful and exploration is interesting.
The original price was a little bit steep for most players though. If you like artsy stuff, go for it.

Edit: top of the page recommendations:

Buy TxK and OlliOlli and support those indie devs for releasing exclusively on Vita (at first). Don't want them to move on to other systems and forget about us.
