PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

OMG ;_; I'm going to go cry in a corner because this will never be real
I seem to miss the persona waifu wars by 2 or 3 pages all the time lol, not sure if good or bad....
where's all the mitsuru love guys????

In other news, I finished Danganronpa in 4 days - it's been a while since I've had 8h gaming sessions, once I got to the later chapters just couldn't put my vita down, sooo good. Was really surprised at the length too, took me around 30hrs to beat main story and I haven't even gone into school mode/ done report cards and trophy hunted yet. Really regret not getting the LE, had been thinking about it but ducked out last minute :(
Yeah Persona 5(with its school slave/escape theme) x Danganronpa seem perfect lol, too bad...

I wanted the LE too, but i read somewhere the artbook was something like 16 pages and i said no, i mean students alone are 16, what about the rest? Not even an entire page per student!

Just copped Lumines, heard so many good things and $6.75 is a nice price for it. Vita pick up and play all dayyy.

Also beat Chapter 1 of DanganRonpa. Man, this game blows 999/VLR out of the water already.

Dekamori Senran Kagura confirmed GOTY

Dekamori Senran Kagura is a rhythm-cooking spinoff title of Marvelous AQL’s busty shinobi series. While it will primarily focus on the rhythm game parts, it’ll also have the extra features that Senran Kagura fans have grown accustomed to. This week’s issue of Famitsu shares the latest.

According to Famitsu, Dekamori Senran Kagura will have the costume destruction feature, where you’ll simply have to rub the screen to get rid of their clothing. Additionally, the game makes skirt-flipping easier than ever.

The locker room feature has also been “evolved.” The magazine explains, as you’ll also be able to stare at the girls cooking from there, and even try making advances while they’re busy. Producer Kenichiro Takaki also adds an option that allows you to play the rhythm game using just one hand, so you can use the other to… look up strategies.

Guys, I've seen this sale.

I'm thinking about buying Mass Effect 2 + Invasion, since I have 3 for Plus and I've played the original on PC. But I don't know if it'd be better if I bought the original and play it before going with the sequel. I've seen some bad things about that comic when they explain you the original story.

It is quite limited and doesn't offer you all the options. Not only that, but some of the default options they choose for you if you don't have the comic are pretty awful (

Yeah that was why I didn't end up buying it. Hmm...might consider this after I finish DR2 in fall...(that glorious 509 pages of art and setting)

It only gets better.

Bought Lumines, can not believe its not listed under the vita sale!
Deciding if I should get Dragon's Crown, will probably pull the trigger

Gave in to some sale stuff.

Got the new DLC for Muramasa (not on sale I know), Persona 4 Arena, and Ni No Kuni. Not bad for a little under 20 bucks

And I can't import my PC save to the PS3 right? They should have put ME1 on sale. Well if I buy everything I'd be 28€ for everything (the extended ending from ME3 is free?).

So, what's the verdict on Basement Crawl? I've heard the online is broken and there's no singleplayer? Anyone having those issues?

i was really surprised to see people seemed to be excited for this on reddit.

as far as i understand it bloober team is an offshoot of nibris (the people who were 'making' sadness for the wii). so yeah...

I have read it wants to be like Bomberman and with no Bomberman on the horizon thanks to Konami people will take what they can get.

After how bad A-Men was, I am not that interested. Got Bomberman for 360 and PS3 with 4 and 6 controllers already. A online multiplayer one would be nice though.

I just redownloaded uncharted 3 and the two sets of movies, but it has disappeared? Not showing up in my game folders at all. Any idea what I can do to make it show up? I couldn't search for it on the store, had to browse through my download list to find it, but it downloaded and installed (took ages)

None whatsoever. Hasn't been mentioned on the blog since its appearance on PS+ in November.
That sucks :( I also asked @yosp on Twitter a while ago if the game would come out in Europe, but he never replied to it. Its a pity, Soul Sacrifice is one of my favorite Vita games so far, and Sony were relatively quick with releasing Soul Sacrifice in the west after it was out in Japan. Its a pity that Soul Sacrifice Delta doesnt see the same threatment.

Do you have the multiplayer component ? I think you need to have it installed also to actually launch the game, or at least it did in the past for the PS+ version of U3.

No. Will try that, thanks. What's another 5GB after downloading 35GB yesterday :p

Sorry I don't agree with this. I'm on ch4, and although I think it's really good, I still love VLR more.
VLR = 10
D:THH = 9 (so far)

Ys Celceta now on the store per search. €39.99 without PS+ discount yet.

Does anybody know if they have said anything about a discount?

Btw, the store update seems to be coming later since our store thread got merged with the Vita one :D
Everything went downhill from there on.

I like dream club too much :( any way to get more songs?

It might be June release since may is already getting GoW collection.

I know I'm still very early on but I find the writing to be closer to AAA/GT quality than 999/VLR. Will need to play through the whole game to really figure it out, though.

You should honestly just stick with PC if you can. I have ME 2 on both PC and the PS3 and the load times on PS3 are intolerable for that game. I can't imagine they fixed that issue for ME3.

When do we think the next price drop for Dragon's Crown Vita will be? At $17 it is just outside of impulse-buy territory for me, especially with my backlog.

Thought this would be the right thread to ask, but I was wondering who here is going all digital or physical with their PS4? and why?

Do you think Sony will eventually shut down the PS3 digital store?

I've seriously been at a crossroads this past week and have rethought my stance on this debate. I just worry about the prospect that Sony will eventually shut down the PSN servers for PS4 and if the digital downloads will not crossover to the next generation. The thought that the hard drive could die years from now and I lose access to all my games is kind of a bummer too. I don't really like discs too, but the physical ownership is still pretty important.

Idk, what do you guys think I should do?

My problem is I played ME on my laptop which now works like shit. It has some overheating problems (even with a fan tables or whatever they're called) and keeps switching off after a while. A friend wanted me to give a try to Tera and I couldn't. It had the same problem like 1 year ago, I sent it to HP and they changed the thermal paste, but I'm out of warranty, I'm tired of it and I don't want to spent a cent in repairs.

I'd like to buy a decent PC, but I can't right now. Fuck HP, fuck Fnac, fuck the employee that sold it to me and fuck myself for not investigating that i7 give a lot of heating problems on laptops (at least the model inside my computer).

Even though I went full digital on the Vita, I did the opposite on the PS4 and got everything physically.

The convenience to have everything available at a touch of your finger is really awesome on a handheld and I do miss it with my PS4. But most of the time when I play PS4 I sit in front of my TV right next to my games anyway to switch them. Only when I use Remote Play I really wish I had bought some games digitally.

On the other hand, the prices for physical releases are better, especially the discounts and bundles that were available at launch. Another important aspect is the game size. While I can download a Vita game rather quick, my bandwidth isn't enough for PS4 games. Wouldn't want to wait on game launches and also blocking the rest of my homes network.

Regarding your fears, I don't think Sony will turn of their servers anytime soon. The backlash would be incredible.
Actually, going the digital route does have some potential perks like retroactive crossbuy, backwards compatibility with PS Now etc.

For games I want to pick up and play I am all digital (85% of my gaming.)

For games I want to beat and move on from like Tomb Raider and other great SP adventures, I'll buy a physical copy and sell it when I beat it.

I think being able to jump into a racing game or puzzle game quickly and without swapping discs is crucial.

I'm considering getting a vita from cowboom today. Any reason to stay away from a 3g model? Seems strange that they are mostly the same price as the wifi only models.

If they're at the same price it doesn't matter. You can play the 3G model without a SIM card with 0 problems. Vita 3G is quite useless, tbh. It's better if you use your phone as a portable hotspot if you want to use you Vita online capabilities while you're out.

It doesn't really offer anything worth your money. But it doesn't annoys either. Treat both models as if they were only one.

UK PS+ Update coming tomorrow:

Hope it's not the rumoured Dead Nation free for PS4 though it probably will be, I need something to play and DN doesn't interest me.

Great. Pretty much a non-factor then.

Any tips on getting a good quality model from cowboom? Should I steer away from units listed without any notes about condition? Or do those tend to be units that are in better quality?

I don't believe Plus games typically get crossbuy.

I can say I got it on Jak Collection, Guacamelee and Stealth Inc

The service is not in my country, but I think people say that level 7 (or something like that) was like buying the system almost new. Try to see if somebody else can answer your question.

Ok, went on quite a buying spree today. Ys, Invizimals, Muramasa DLC 2 and Guacamelee challenge DLC.

Totally forgot about the Invizimals release.

Man, a retroactive cross buy feature would be killer and would probably alleviate my fears of all digital. I do agree with the fact that the backlash would be enormous if they ever shut off servers too soon, they probably have a plan for it just in case.

My hope for the PlayStation ecosystem, especially now with the PS4, is that it eventually becomes like the ecosystem seen on the PC. I hope that you can eventually buy a game from Sony, whether it be physical or digital, and that game would be playable across PS3(not sure about this b/c of cell), PS4, PS Vita, a potential PS5. I'd rather have my PS4 downloads carry over to the next console instead of it done through PS Now. Features like cross buy seem like the first step towards this. Easy architecture languages (x86) from here on out will make this an easy thing to implement, hopefully.

Went to buy:
-Persona 4 Arena (PS3)
-Injustice (Vita)

Ended buying:
-Persona 4 Arena (PS3)
-Injustice (Vita)
-Dungeon Hunter Alliance (Vita)
-Machinarium (Vita)
-Lumines Electric Symphony (Vita)
-flOw (PS3/PS4/Vita)
Give us some impressions of Dungeon Hunter will you?

Is Dead Nation still coming out on Vita, or did that fall to the wayside like Don't Starve did?

Totally forgot about the Invizimals release.

I might import that, I forgot it was coming out. Not like I know anything about Invizimals, but the tech demo was cool and it's a Vita game.

Wait what?

I thought the Dont Starve guys just said they were possibly interested in porting to Vita.

Pretty sure dead Nation is totally happening

So any reason that the 3DS is allowed to have its own anniversary, and game recommendations threads but the Vita can't? Kind of bullshit.
