Are there Pilot Games like Starfox for the PC?

I want to play games that is like Starfox 64 or those Shoot Em Up arcade games like Crimzon Clover on the PC. Can you suggest games?

Haven't played it myself, but for games like Starfox maybe Astebreed?

For games like Crimzon Clover, there's Jamestown, Ikaruga, eXceed, probably some others but I'm terrible at bullet hell so who knows.

Sky rogue?

No joke (unless an expansion changed it): the space missions in Star Wars: The Old Republic are Stor Foxian in design. Pilot a ship and go through a linear course while completing objectives along the way.

An expansion also added fighter-based PvP, though I've never tried it. Seemed interesting at the time.

Before they co-developed StarFox on the Super Nintendo, Argonaut Software did Starglider II, which has its own share of open world moments.

Starglider II let you fly anywhere, even into the sun, if you so desired.

There is a DOS version floating around out there, but Atari ST and Amiga versions seem to be more popular to come by.

Shmups:

Crimzon Clover: World Ignition
Jamestown
Revolver 360 RE:ACTOR
Astebreed
Ikaruga
Alltynex
Sine Mora

If you want some more 3D dogfighting style gameplay, maybe something like Strike Suit Zero.

Please tell me you can play that Ace combat style.

The visual style is amazing but that looks like a mess to play.

The control scheme and physics are fairly similar, but last build I played, the input support for anything other than the x360 controller was hot garbage.

How Ikaruga and Jamestown are even close to StarFox ?

I kinda understand non-rails games ... but top down bullet hells ?

I'm also looking for Arcade games, such as Dragon's Crown.

D&D: Chronicles of Mystara is on Steam. It's what Dragon's Crown evolved from. Maybe Sacred Citadel but honestly if you already have Dragon's Crown that's like recommending a no-brand toaster pastry as a substitute for pie.

and Fury3 and Hellbender

(albeit, those might be harder to obtain legally)

Fury3 actually came with a version of Windows. I think it might have been windows 95 plus, or windows 98 plus, or one of those. but I remember distinctly because that's the way I own fury 3.

all the same series by the way for those who don't know.

the original terminal velocity of course was just recently re-released by Apogee as part of their Mega Collection pack

Maybe Tom Clancy's HAWX will be to your liking.
Sine Mora is a brillaint sidescrolling 2d/3d bullethell.
Also, somewhat similar is Beat Hazard.

Sega needs to rerelease the pc version of panzer dragoon. Sure, it's the worst in the series, but that's a bit like being the shortest mountain

Speaking of Rail Shooters on PC, how is the PC port of Panzer Dragoon? edit Looking at Krejlooc's post I'm guessing it doesn't run on Win 7/8 PCs

The OP should take a look at tube shooters as well even if they're quite rare (Brain Pipe & Torus Trooper are 2 I know of besides old faves like Gyrus & Tempest)

freeware classic STGs
Cho Ren Sha
Blue Wish Resurrection
Hydorah

EDIT IIRC there are atleast a couple of doujin Afterburner Touhou clones although I never played them myself

Also is Yar's Revenge on PC? not the original but the Rail Shooter remake
