YouTube ads will become unskippable

Man, while Revanced works well on Android, on PC it's a whole different thing...
The buffering before each video has become insufferable to the point where I actually start watching the same videos on my phone.

I'm using Edge with Ublocker btw

Is there any app like SmartTube compatible with Samsung tv?

This thing is a serious selling point for a new tv now. And it's only compatible with Google TV (lol, the only way to avoid YT enshittification is to use a Google TV)

A cheap streaming box/Android stick works well enough

With Brave and Ublock Origin (not lite) it works perfectly. No buffering.

Does ublock provide benefits over standard brave blocker? I always thought that there could be some incompatibilities.

So glad I have YT Premium!

They basically force users to buy it with shitty experience. The part i "love" the most is that after commercials, player disables subtitles 50% of the time - this shit drives me crazy on tv.

Brave uses some of the lists that Ublock Origin has by default. And you can add more lists to either.
For example has all the blocking lists, most edited for all ad blockers.

Ublock Origin has advantage for advanced users. It can block 3rd party scripts and frame, globally or by site.

It has a great element blocker, that can be use to block annoying things that are not in the lists you use.
It can also be used to alter or edit code on sites, for example, I use it to improve youtube, such as increasing the number of thumbnails per row:

youtube.com##ytd-rich-grid-row, #contents.ytd-rich-grid-row:style(display:contents !important;)

youtube.com##ytd-rich-grid-renderer, html:style(--ytd-rich-grid-items-per-row: 6 !important;)

youtube.com##ytd-rich-grid-renderer, html:style(--ytd-rich-grid-posts-per-row: 6 !important;)

This is just more confirmation that tech corpos are turning the internet into legacy media-only now with less regulation and a stronger parasocial element! Fun...

(BTW revanced has adblockers, obviously, but also the keyword filters are useful for hiding doomer/video essay slop. If you're tired of the current state of youtube i cannot recommend it enough.)

They fucked something up, I see this on brave now (when opening browser that had youtube tabs)

Even ctrl+F5 doesn't work, I have to launch videos from main youtube page again.

Are you using Brave's adblocker. Or something else?

I also use YT music which is nice.

The main reason I have and use the duckduckgo web browser, for watching youtube content ad free with duckplayer. Still works for me with no issue.

Same. But the problem is that they don't care, and why would they? The few that disappear won't mean anything versus the ads and premium revenue.
And that's fine too. Their product is only useful to me in the way I currently use it. If that changes then it's on to a thousand other things I could be doing with my time. everybody wins.

When is this supposed to be in effect? I still have skippable ads. Also I find it so weird, since I moved to Ontario, I see Canadian ads in Chinese, Hindi, Arabic.

YT ads skippable no problem.

I have a combo of these Chrome apps which works wonders on ads, sponsorblock and auto-playing videos on any site

Ublock Origin Lite
Sponsor Block for YT
Turn off the Lights (I just use it for disabling auto-play videos)

In the past for auto play videos there would be various HTML video blockers, but sometimes when Chrome updates they become unusable. Maybe there's new ones by now. I just use Turn off the Lights

I watched a youtube video yesterday and had ads playing every two minutes. They were all skipable but still, it's better to download videos instead of watching them online.

Often when I skip ahead in a Youtube video it will play an ad.
Oops went too far. Click on the playbar to rewind a few min earlier, again right into another ad.

Maybe it's time I start paying for Youtube .:(

I don't have any on my PC with ad blockers but it's getting ridiculous on my android box hooked up on my TV

Anyone knows of a workaround for an Android box?

I just renewed my Premium. It's $15.99 now. Ugh. Still worth it for me since I use it daily.

Morphe on Android phones, smart tube on TVs or VPN set for Albania or Afghanistan or Nassau.

Hey man, I've been meaning to ask, is morphe better than Revanced and if so, how ?

I've already put an ad free YT client on my LG TV, but, regarding an Android box now (Google 4K TV streamer), what would the best option be ?

Thanks

pretty sure Morphe is just a different fork of the same thing.

not sure if there are meaningful differences

You can have the functionality of two of these extensions with this one, Improve YouTube. It allows you to radically change the layout and add various features.

I've never used revanced. From second hand info, found out the revanced team fell out with the project lead and they developed Morphe and from all the feedback, it's better.

It's the only one I've been using.

Best option sounds like it'd be smart tube.

This is new? Whenever I watch full screen on my phone, it keeps popping up.
Extremely annoying. It appears every 4–5 minutes.

I guess it's time to look for an alternative app.
