Level-5 will release Yo-kai Watch 4 for Switch in the west, the company announced during its Anime Expo 2019 panel. A release window was not announced.

A Japanese trailer with English subtitles was shown at the event. It is unknown whether this trailer will be released online.

The company noted that the Yo-kai Watch 4 has content that requires the player to to have watched specific non-localised Yo-kai Watch films to fully understand. While Level-5 cannot confirm it will localise these movies, it has expressed the desire to do so.

Yo-kai Watch 4: We’re Looking Up at the Same Sky first launched for Switch in Japan on June 20. It is currently unknown if the western release will have the same subtitle as the Japanese version.

How’s the gameplay?

It’s great! I’m loving the revamped combat system and the more serious story plot. I’d suggest giving AbdullahNation’s youtube a look since he streams the games as he’s a big fan of the series. We’ve both been playing long before they ever came to the West and are major advocates for the series.

Now, that’s not to say it’s perfect by any means (frame rate could use a bit of work especially) but it’s clear just how much love and attention Level 5 put into making this newest entry in the franchise
