Xenoblade Genesis Announced

I heard that for this game, every single character will have some masked alter-ego, so they can maximize the # of scenes where a character gets unmasked and everyone is shocked to learn who it really was.

I see some fans are trying to connect Xenoblade Genesis to Xenogears. 😭

My Twitter feed is full of schizo theory lol

I dont understand how can people call this underwhelming.

I don't care how much someone hates character design but just look at it's world.

Its such unique way to design a world, not just among other JRPGs even among other open world games, I don't think ever seen something like this.

I'm super excited finding out how we travel through different location in this world.

I saw so many reactions, Megaten fans said it's similar to Vortex World in Nocturne

That's my biggest question mark too. This is actually a common trope in Science Fiction books so it's a surprise to see this type of world in a JRPG

Xenoblade is one of those games you have to play to love. People can dislike it for whatever reason but I can guarantee you from experience that once they will play it, they fall in love. I got 7 mates that made fun of it and said: "Look, another kiddy cartoony JRPG" then I convinced them to try it out from my Switch. All of them got a Switch 1 and got Switch 2 when it released. You know whats even more amusing? They spammed me with Genesis reveal :messenger_tears_of_joy:

One of the questions I'm having regarding this new Xenoblade is whether this is a prequel to all the games thst came before or a sequel to every game that came before

Unless the creators are known fans of western scifi, that is a professional contortionist-level stretch.

Rama -> Anshar because they's both gods and whatnot
Columns of light -> might be glowy alien tech inside because I have to make this detail fit somewhere
Tripartite symmetry -> erm… the three elements they mention?

I mean, it's possible there was some inspiration there. Rendezvous with Rama is a classic, and there are some common elements, for sure. The problem is that the elements that are actually held in common are also shared with many other scifi/space opera/anime stories.

That flying dragon made me think about Flammie from the Mana series. Same white/green/yellow colors.

I like the art style for the environments, but the characters and the general anime tone are meh.

They still don't want to evolve past high school and it's tiring, because their stories suffers a lot from it. They want me to take teenagers shonen stories seriously, sorry I can't do anything else than laugh at it.

They are stuck into telling stories that always resolve everything with the power of love and friendship.
I was not expecting a new Xenoblade announcement at all… Can't wait. Best JRPG Saga from this era, by a long shot.

Game creators crib concepts from fiction all the time. With Clarke literally writing the book on space mega structures. Sure looks suspicious.

Sure, but the concepts are hardly unique to Clarke, and the ones that are actually convincingly present in the game are the most generic.
