The gameplay trailer suggested that he was meeting her for the first time. He was following her trail and didn't have her name. The leaks did that too.

Women cannot be attractive anymore. Sony made this very clear after countless first party studios either tone down beauty faces and bodies or just putting middle age women without any sight of butt or boobs, aka Returnal.

As cool and brutal as it is, I think it would get old, quick. I enjoyed the combat in the SM games and expect to in this as well but was hoping for something a little different I guess. I think he might look cooler without the helmet or more muscle mass. Maybe the other suits will help with his look.

The game to me seems like it's being told over periods of his timeline with flashbacks. At one point he's teaming up with sabretooth instead of fighting him.

Just my theory, but I think that's just a name he has given her because he is already following the trail of a redhead. They don't meet eyes, so it seems he is just speaking to himself when he calls her Red. The leaks had him sniffing around, searching for a redhead as well. Likely happening before the gameplay scenes. I remember seeing a mission title named that way in the leaks too.
He wouldn't be holding on to a photograph of happy times with Jean if she is still alive and actively part of the new story. That clearly indicates the woman in the picture is dead. Which can be a bit confusing as she doesn't look dramatically different than Jean Grey. And if Jean dies in the game, they wouldn't spoil something like that in a CGI trailer. Hence my guess that Logan has a type and the pic is that of his ex...

I like PLAYING these games made by Insomniac but lets be honest, their character designs are so fucking sterile.
I consider myself a decent Marvel fan (when it comes to the comics) and I had no idea that was Lady Deathstrike in the trailer until after the fact.
Insomniac Marvel is just a bunch of normal looking people playing semi dress-up. Seriously where is the aesthetics and personality in ANYONES design.

But they aren't. People in the comments are saying they're going to buy the physical edition of the game.

Lady Deathstrike (Yuriko Oyama) is generally portrayed as a young adult in her late 20s to early 30s. Her exact age is rarely stated because her cyborg body slows down aging. In the movie X2: X-Men United, actress Kelly Hu appeared in her mid-30s.
There's no way in hell the Lady Deathstrike in the photo for this game is a day under 40 and that's being generous. Here's some google photos of Japanese women in their 30s (and we could have even gone younger, in their 20s instead by the lore, which would really skew the comparison - but we don't even need to):

I would just like the characters to actually look like they are supposed to look. The game's style already is set, so the least I hope for now is we get comic book characters that actually look like the comic book characters.
But it's cool if you don't give a shit what they look like too. That's fair. I'll still be disappointed with how very few X-Men games we get that aren't fighters or gacha games, so when we finally get one, and it looks so much worse than Rivals, Tokon, MUA3, and almost every other single X-Men game ever made, on any platform even mobile ones like Contest of Champions, well that sucks.
So far we've had Jean, Lady Deathstrike and Mystique - all quite disappointing. But hey, at least the men all look good! I am just disappointed they are choosing the make the women all look not very cool or inspiring like their comic book looks.
Rivals looks straight up pornographic compared to this game.

Yeah, I guess in the end if it has good word of mouth, it really doesn't matter, I'll end up buying it. Right now there's little to talk about, and I do want it to be good, I want it to be better, I'd love it if it ended up my GOTY. Nothing would be happier than seeing an X-Men themed game end up my GOTY.
And hell, I made it through the entire X-Men Evolution cartoon, where they gave rogue a double chin, and gambit had the worst bob cut I've ever seen. So in the end I'll get used to it. It's fun to complain right now though.
But you want me to believe Wolverine vs this Lady Deathstrike is a tough fight for Wolverine? That's a much harder sell than the Lady Deathstrike from the comics. Or I'm supposed to see Mystique as the personification of beauty like in the comics, and Jean as the strongest mutant which ever lived? So many of them just don't carry that weight like the comics do. And it's not a problem unique to this game either, there's been some fucking duds in the movie world too.
But hopefully the game ends up good!
