A horror movie based on the viral Willy Wonka experience is now in development. Stemming from the 1964 Roald Dahl novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, fictional chocolatier Willy Wonka has been portrayed on screen a number of times. Most recently, a younger version of the character was played by acclaimed Dune actor Timothée Chalamet.

As per Bloody Disgusting, a horror movie based on the viral Willy Wonka experience has just been announced. The horror film will be titled The Unknown, and based off of one of the main figures in the viral experience. Twenty years ago, this bizarre experience would have gotten a write-up in a newspaper, maybe made the rounds on the internet for a couple days, and then people would have moved on. Now it becomes a meme, goes from hilarious to cringe, and shitty companies try to free ride off it, all within 48 hours. We cannot go on like this. As funny as it was I never want to hear about the Willy Wonka Experience or The Unknown again.
