There are many things that makes an overall experience in game, there are these specific elements that you simply want to grab a controller and play. I like Elden Ring and the exploration sometimes is the reason GodYeah.

1. Intense and visceral combat, but not that super flashy lightweight anime style shit like DMC.
2. Incredible vistas, art, locations and graphics.
3. The atmosphere

Am I into Cowboys today? Red Dead Redemption 2
Am I into WWII today? Hell Let Loose
Am I into the War in Aghanistan? Medal of Honor: 2010
Am I into modern firearms today? Insurgency Sandstorm or even MWII: 2022 if I want to look at some insane FPS animations (though the character skins piss me off in that game haha)
Am I in the mood for incredible water physics and insane graphics with the best animations you can get? Uncharted 4 or Last of Us 2
Am I in the mood for a true PS5 game with 4K, 60fps exploration? Horizon Forbidden West

That's basically how my gaming brain works so I usually go in cycles of playing games that I own.
