What are some of the greatest Arcade Games of all time?

So I've been revistiting a lot of old favorites on my steam deck, and it really hit me that my Arcade experience is totally limited to my experiences as a kid in the 80's-90's and I've no clue what to check out aside from what I know..

I went right for
Ghosts and Goblins
Pac-Man
Rastan
Black Tiger
TMNT Arcade
Simpsons Arcade
X-Men
Altered Beast
Golden Axe
Tower of Doom
Metal Slug

No matter how stuck in my Arcade memories I may be I'm sure good games didn't stop coming to arcades just because I stopped going to them.

Give me a list of some of your favorites so I can have a guide of what to check out.

Also, Street Fighter 2, all the alpha trilogy, and third strike are pure classics.

King of Fighters is beloved by many gamers especially the old 2D sprite based games, their animation and graphics are amazing!!

Namco's games are pretty good too, like Pac-Man, Ridge Racer (Daytona is better, though), Tekken, Mario Kart Arcade GP 2, Burger Time, and Taiko no Tatsujin
The New Zealand Story.
Final Fight
R-Type
good shouts especially new Zealand Story. I played the remake on DS and it's very good

I would say Tempest, it just cemented my love of vector graphics and felt for it's time like a really fast, wild and crazy game. It's just one of those games that I always think of first when I think of arcades back in the day.

My personal favourite to this day was Vendetta.

The only reason I didn't buy it on the PS store is that that classics line has no online multiplayer added, which is a crime.

Pretty much anything SEGA, Namco, Capcom, and Midway dropped. They always delivered a great arcade experience. SNK MVS was a requirement as well for any legit arcade.

I personally think Mk2 is the greatest arcade game ever made I had no idea it was even possible to be that much better than Mk1. The state of the art graphics incredible sound design and all the secrets and rumors, man what I time to be alive 😎

The crowds around the machine, in that dark ass arcade, the bass pounding, shit was unreal.
