Sunsetting 2tb model, wtf :messenger_expressionless:
It barely sold any units anyways so even if it would be at 1k$ they should just keep that option there, just incase...
I tell u those casual crowds gonna jump on triple hiked prices at the end of the gen 🤣🤣🤣

Which is smart of them. Wanna play GTA day one and be able to afford a console to play it? Well, then buy a console now, before it goes up in price...

This isn't smart at all. You're assuming GTA6 is going to move all their warehouse dust collecting consoles for them so they're doing this EXTRA price increase to capitalize.

People will just buy a PS5, that's cheaper and they can actually see on a shelf.

Seriously had to re-read to make sure it was a price increase and not decrease...

I was half expecting them to do the opposite, because if you don't have an Xbox at this point, you're probably someone on last gen and it's time to upgrade and entrench them. May as well if XSX/S production is basically done. Why not with Helix around the corner?

But now if you're a total neutral who wants to play GTA6, they're all getting PS5s. This seems like them just trying to make Xbox One people pay more.
They're also doing this to condition people into paying more for next gen. Putting a $1500-$2000 price tag on Helix is a lot harder to do if the Series X could be had for $600. But when compared with an $800 7 year old console...

EDIT: we'll probably see yet another price increase before Helix launches too

Ram prices. So either they take a net loss of $100-150 per console sold, or they up the price by $100-150 to not take additional losses each sell, but it will hurt the volume of sell.
Well it's not like they sold a crap load of consoles these days anyway...

Gaming is facing its crash as we speak. We would never be like the one in the 80s, but you can't look to me and say with a straight face that this isn't what is happening right now. The industry is resctructuring right in front of our very eyes, and not for the better.

I don't know how many endless times we need to see this happen for people to understand that this isn't an Xbox issue, or a Playstation issue, or a Nintendo issue, or a Valve issue.

This is an AI/inflation/tariff issue.
People here can't skip a chance to blame Microsoft/xbox for something

Sony will do it again too, the ram prices are killing everything

ladies and gentleman this right here...more than anything Asha, Greenberg or anyone else says....tells you EXACTLY how serious Xbox is about making their platform viable.

Short answer: If they wanted to throw Xbox a bone and make a serious effort to increase their user base this is exactly the opposite of what they should be doing.

Dont believe what Xbox tells you, believe what they show you. They just showed you they are not serious.

I'm almost certain they're still losing money after these new prices. It's just a manageable amount now rather than $200+. Probably like $50-75 now.

Sony is next but they're going to hold out as long as they can. I'd say August we get an announcement that prices are going up by 100 minimum but a 200 move would not shock me at all. The fact that MS is dropping the 2TB model altogether is a pretty big tell on what's coming. The fact that an entry level Steam Machine is 1000 is another big tell.
