Its good but doesn't OEM bundle mean you have to buy with other hardware?
Nah.. I've ordered plenty of single OEM items from NEWEGG without problem.

With that said, I just ordered the NEC 3520 DVD burner from them today as well.

No. With OEM, you'll just get the drive, limited instructions and usually limited or no software. And no cables or other bonuses. It's the same product that is shipped in the retail box, but you don't get the pretty box or the other 'bonuses' in the retail box. For most people, OEM is fine.

Anyway, i don't know much about Sony burners, but I constantly hear good things about the latest Pioneer model. I have a Pioneer 8X that has worked flawlessly for me. The new one is only 12 bucks more than the Sony one, and has great reviews on newegg.
