The REAL Wii VC sales thread

in the future, i'm not gonna buy VC points in advance. If the points aren't just sitting there it's not tempting, but when I actually have like 4000 points just sitting in the channel even I don't have self-control :(
While I agree it's better to buy them as you go, it's still pretty damn tempting. I was only going to buy 3 VC games at launch, but now I have 5. I'm going to go ahead and blame the disappointing selection at this point... Mario 64, F-Zero, Sonic, and Bonk would not have been purchased right away if we had a list like Japan is getting at launch. Castlevania IV and Contra III would have taken precedence.

That means NOA's marketing department is succeeding.

My ONE goal for VC is to not buy anything I own already. I should be able to hold out :D

Really, the convienience just isn't worth the repurchase, to me.

Besides, there are a LOT of classics I missed out on, so it's not like I won't be hitting the VC hard anyway.

Wario's Woods
Super Star Soldier

Yeah, I have the same plan. Having grown up as a PC gamer, there's plenty of stuff I missed so it should be pretty easy for me.

I never owned a TG16 and have never played any TG16 games on emulator, so games like super star soldier are pretty darn fun (even if I have played the next gen versions of it). I DLed Bonk cause everyone else did, but I'm not terribly impressed by it. Seems like just a standard platformer that should have only been DLed for nostalgia purposes.

Aren't there going to be MSX or commodore 64 or other systems' games on the VC at some point? I'd like to see a bigger selection besides the standard classics.

I'd be surprised to not see other old systems show up, but there's nothing confirmed beyond the current lineup.

I've bought

Bonk's Adventure
Legend of Zelda
Super Mario 64
F-Zero
Sonic the Hedgehog
Ecco the Dolphin

...yep
Wait... when did Ecco get added? Was it there from the start? :/

Added some games to my collection :D

Ecco The Dolphin
Donkey Kong
Solomon's Key (this one is new to me! Loving it so far. I wouldn't have picked it up without GAF's advice. Thanks GAF!)

I bought Mario 64.

I will buy Solomon's Key and Gunstar Heroes once I hit a drought.

I don't care so much for Super Star Soldier but I'll definitely buy Blazing Lasers and other PCE shooters (Lords of Thunder, Gate of Thunder, Final Soldier, Soldier Blade, Air Zonk, etc.) that make it out here.

I won't be buying any Bomberman games unless they patch them for online.

Heh, it's like I know I'm getting ripped off with some of these prices...but like Itunes Store I buy anyway eventually. Because at the end of the day ~5 bucks is nothing and is definately in impulse buy range. I spend more than that on lunch.

Bonk and Super Mario64 for me

nice charts. It'd be cool if Nintendo provided some sort of worldwide data for VC sales. I wonder how games like Solomon's key are doing outside of forums like this one

Just bought Ecco the Dolphin. It's like nintendo saw me raiding eBay and buy/sell threads and the used game bins and said: "We can make some damn good money off this hapless boy". o_O

I think the best we can hope for from Nintendo is a top 10 each month in Nintendo Power.

I agree, Cheesemeister's charts kick ass.

In addition of what I wrote before.. I bought 2 more games.

Solomon's Key

and

Super Star Soldier.

..
kinda regret that I bought 2 games... I mean nice games, but I have other stuff that I need to be working on.
