Um... If I want to play pixel for pixel Lockout I'll put in Halo 2.ice cream said:Seriously how hard is it to bring lockout back? You don't have to test if it's balanced or anything (maybe for glitches), just make it pixel for pixel and then put it up on XBLM.
Why does everyone use that excuse?Buttonbasher said:Um... If I want to play pixel for pixel Lockout I'll put in Halo 2.
Yeah but you want a straight port. I don't. If we get it it should at least be a little bit different. Like Last Resort/Zanzibar. Plus I imagine testing maps takes longer with Forge. So it's not as easy as you make it out to be.ice cream said:Why does everyone use that excuse?
I want to play lockout in Halo 3 because Halo 3 has better gameplay mechanics. See: The Winning new take on the Melee Halo 3 as a whole is better so why not make it even better by adding a great map? Simple as that.

I played CoD with a couple friends for the first time yesterday. I did have fun, but not the "OMFG THATS SO AWESOME" kind of fun that we had later playing Ranked BTB. Still, CoD 4 is the only other shooter that I could see myself playing in case Halo didn't exist. Props to IW.MaX_PL said:i may get back into Halo 3. Call of Duty 4 is starting to suck.

You're not supposed to say that's awesome. You're supposed to complain like I always do.Deepblue said:Just the other day I was playing Team Objective on Valhalla and I heard a mongoose approaching, so I scoped out the river entrance on the Mountain side of the map and waited. The next thing that happened shocked me. The mongoose landed on my head after taking a jump off the center hill. So awesome.
On Sandtrap, often you need to stick to the inside of the ruins until you can get back to either a vehicle or anti-vehicle weapon. I agree it's a pain sometimes, but then that's a map built to be a vehicular playground, so it's kind of the exception.Deputy Moonman said:Your point is valid Ghalheon. But when you die and respawn, much of the time there isn't a turret, rocket launcher, spartan laser, or missle pod just sitting there for your disposal. At best, you can probably find a brute shot laying around.
This is true. It usually takes more than one person to take out a vehicle. I always follow-up a power drain with a grenade immediately to flip/disorient the gunner. But in general, solo vehicle kills like that are rare. More often, we cluster into a group of three or so and hail grenades to take them down. And a power generator, or plasma charged shot does not disable a turret in a warthog. It's almost funny when you take the time to disable a warthog only to get gunned down because the turret never stops shooting and your life only lasts a fraction of a second when taking that kind of fire.
I'm just sick of the vehicles being everywhere. Vehicles are fun, but it's not the halo I remember. And stickies are a waste, because they don't do jack to vehicles.
That reminds me. I was on a ghost last night and an enemy flipped me with a frag grenade. I flipped a good 40 feet or so - and landed on one of his team mates. Spatter. :lolDeputy Moonman said:You're not supposed to say that's awesome. You're supposed to complain like I always do.![]()
I've decided that I am going to haul you around with me in games. It's the perfect solution to my problems.GhaleonEB said:On Sandtrap, often you need to stick to the inside of the ruins until you can get back to either a vehicle or anti-vehicle weapon. On the other maps, there are fewer anti-vehicle weapons, true. But there's usually an abundance of cover, plasma grenades and of course, the starting frags. They flip Warthogs quite easily now.

Stickies are my primary method for flipping or destrying vehicles. Often I'll sacrifice myself to disable to destroy a vehicle by allowing it to close on me and then tagging it. If I don't destroy it, my team mates will.
I do think vehicles are challenging to destroy when on foot, but that seems appropriate. I think they're balanced pretty well considering all the ways to flip/disrupt them (grenades, power drain, plasma pistol, brute shot) or destroy them outright (turret, missle pod, spartan laser, rocket launcher). And there's boarding, which plays a big role in using cover.
Halo 1 vehicles had issues - they were invincible in MP, just bumping into moving ones caused infantry to die and you couldn't jack them. Dunno. On the balance, I find them to be well balanced, but then I've played about 2/3 of my games on BTB playlists, so I'm used to dealing with them most of the time.
The hardest to take down is a banshee, but even then the missle pod or s'plaser will take out even the best pilot.

Well, there aren't really a ton of vehicle-heavy maps, and they're mostly only found in BTB, so you know what you're getting into. As Ghaleon mentioned, there are a ton of ways to take care of vehicles, I usually just stick to plasma grenades- easy to find and easy to use.Deputy Moonman said:Your point is valid Ghalheon. More often than not, it's the other team with all the power weapons. So I'm dealing with that, and the endless vehicles at the same time.

Is it going to happen?

What you should actually be trying to arrange is a cook off to see who can bake a Mister Chief themed birthday cake the fastest and whoever wins gets a hug.

in all seriousness, theres no 1v1 map in Halo 3. maybe if we played Halo 2 we could do warlock, but there no symmetric maps for us to play.
maybe you girls should round up your best 4 and we can play 4 versus my team of 3. and we'll give you a 30 kill lead.
