Is Territories only one round now? I'm loving it.
On Sandtrap. I think the longer rounds are needed because of the greater area to traverse, so multiple rounds would make games too long. It feels just right with one full round with five minute halves.

I played it last night with a bunch of GAFers. We got our ass kicked so damn hard. (1-4)

I just played ranked Territories on Valhalla and Last Resort and it was only one round too.

In the Valhalla game we got matched with a party full of shitheads who were standbying the whole time and they still lost

I don't know what Bungie was thinking with Guardian. All they had to do was remake Lockout pixel for pixel, but they decided to change just for the sake of changing it. Baffling.

Small symmetrical and asymmetrical maps are my favorites. I want more like Chillout, Desolation, Warlock, Sanctuary, Midship, Lockout, Beaver Creek, Ascension, and Ivory Tower.

I want them to remake Ivory Tower, Lockout, Sanctuary, Midship, Warlock and Beaver Creek as Halo 3 maps. In that order of preference. And yesterday. There's no thinking involved in the redesign of those, so just redo the maps with the same level design and some sprucing up like was done to Zanzibar with Last Resort.

Get your shit together Bungie. Thanks for the new maps in Halo 3, they're great. Now just give us the old favorites as well.

My roomate and I are looking for some people who may be interested in some ranked BTBs. you can add scola916 if you want to play.

Serious, or jokes?

If you want to play Lockout, go play Halo 2. Otherwise, please shut up.

I've been listening to Halo 3's soundtrack. Man, the music is so damn good. It reminds me of how much I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign.

I haven't played Halo 3 in awhile, but -- boy do I still love it.

I am serious. I am not as gullible as the rest of these guys; you can't actually expect me to believe Guardian has nothing to do with Lockout (green room).

Dude, in all seriousness, it's a remake of Lockout. Bungie just did a terrible job of it. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

They've said countless times it's a spiritual successor...which doesn't mean remake. If Lockout isn't in the next map pack I would be pretty surprised.

I was walking along a path with two friends—the sun was setting—suddenly the sky turned blood red—I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence—there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city—my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety—and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature.

Dude, that's pretty sweet.

They respawn quick in Sandtrap, which they should.
Also, add me if you need BTB friends. I think it's stupid to go in with less than 5 people.
I'd love to have more friends with which to play some BTB. Is your gamertag also Striker? I'll go ahead and add it. Doh! Your list is full. That's okay. And I agree with you on the Sandtrap map vehicle respawns. But I am still adamant about vehicles being too hard to bring down for how powerful they are.

Yeah the similarities are definitely there: four areas connected by one center platform. Perhaps what Guardian is missing is a third level on it. It might connect the dots that are missing.

BTB remains awesome, but there's been a ton of Covie games at Valhalla. The weight, if it's big, needs reduced. I wouldn't mind it on Sandtrap, though. Big map and the ghosts would flourish.

Needs to be more CTF/Assault, too.

They DID send a poet. He stood and looked at it for an hour and then said,

IMO, Lockout is much better.

this is one of the biggest wtf! for me in this gen, everyone in my LAN center just plays lockout with MLG rules, the design of the map is so clever and fun and most of the times the game pace becames really hectic

even in the xbox live stats most of the custom game were 75% just lockout

Yeah, I'm going to disagree with you there. There's plenty of ways to drop a vehicle very quickly - plasma pistol, energy drain, etc. In addition to the usual bullet points, Bungie balanced some weapons just for vehicles. Brute shots flip warthogs, grenades flip'em pretty easy, etc. It's not easy to take one down, but that seems appropriate given that it's infantry versus vehicle. At any rate, I fancy myself a bit of a vehicle hunter in BTB, so I have a few trophies handy. I like pictures. I suspect this isn't a surprise to anyone by now. :p

Valhalla. A Warthog is tearing up our team. I head towards it on foot in the middle of the map. A quick SMG burst and a last-second grenade....

Result: I die, but the driver is killed. The gunner soon follows, after his plunge off the cliff. A worthy death, all told.:D

This one isn't too tough since it's a Mongoose, but I've taken down plenty a Warthog the same way.

Here's three Warthog kills from on foot all in the same game about an hour ago.

This was an easy one -

I pounced on this 'hog when it was cruising ruins.

This one I took out with two brute shot rounds and a sticky.

Three dead Warthogs (and three sets of double-kills). Again, all from the same game.

Throw in the Spartan Laser, Rocket Launcher, regular grenades in addition to the above, and it's often downright dangerous to be cruising around in a vehicle. Especially with guys like me prowlig around :D

guardian is prob one of my favorite maps in halo 3 along with the pit and Valhalla for big team

I have a couple questions that you guys may or may not be able to answer, but speculation would be just as awarding.

1) I remember hearing a bungie podcast (after Halo 3 released) talking about secret "clues" that would be in each podcast that would lead someone to getting recon armor. Does anyone know what im talking about?

2) I believe it was just this last podcast that the Halo CE pistol was mentioned as making a return in some form. Do you think we will see downloadable weapons for Halo 3? Does Bungie have a surprise for us in the form of Halo CE Multiplayer for XBLA? (sorry for beating dead horse)

Stinkles this question is more directed towards you

3)We at highimpacthalo.org have been trying to find "damians easter egg" and we know it includes the terminals. Is the terminal found on the level Cortana part of the easter egg? There is a total of 8 terminals in the game, not 7 like most people think. Any hints towards this egg?

Sorry for long post, will work for food.

1) :lol :lol

2) I think it's just a joke by that behemoth Mr. Harold Ryan. But if I were to get serious about it, I would say that the Halo CE pistol would be back only in Custom Games/Forge (a la Fuel Rod, Hornet, etc..)

I have a question for you:

Will you ever accept my FR? It's been pending for almost 3 days now. :P

Boy, you sure love that Mark VI, huh? Most of the time, I see players use non-default armor.

Well, most of the time some types of armor don't load up right away so you'll see a lot more people using the default armor sometimes. Like today, for example. My Recon didn't load during a BTB game so I couldn't go up to all the Snipers and tell them "arnt dis awsum, bungie giv it 2 me becuz i r so k00l" :(

Lockout was great and large part of the Halo 2 population played it more than any other map. But it wasn't my favorite map. I have a hard time singling out any one favorite just because I loved a good amount of Halo 2's maps.

IMO, Halo 3's maps are just okay. None of the default ones currently stand out as being amazing and none are downright terrible (like Elongation). Standoff is the first great Halo 3 map in my opinion. It satisfies my taste for symmetrical small to medium-sized maps.

I've got to give some love to Standoff, High Ground, and Valhalla.

I think those maps are all really well down for their respective gametypes.
High Ground has some bullshit spawns though, being the only reason I have a hard time giving it a full endorsement. It has a unique level flow, and battles around some fun set pieces.

Valhala is probably the best big team map in a halo game to date. There are never lulls in the combat. Lots of unique battles take place in it. And a good team can dominate a bad one on the map by holding the center, something any good map needs (a power position).

This is the other reason.

This new Mister Chief appears to be doing a little colon spelunking. Or maybe he's playing Cortana.
