Yes, spoke with the guys this a.m., because, as I've said countlessly here, I'm in the same boat as you. In fact, a bunch of us at the office are. There was a bug with the linking of games to players for a number of players, those games still exist, the data still exists and there's a new tool being written right now that will retroactively reprocess all of that information and begin updating everything in the next 24 hours.

I appreciate your frustration, but to the best of my knowledge you had never stated (before just now) that the data from ~Oct 5 hadn't been lost. THAT'S what people had been wringing their hands about - not the fact that there's a bungie.net delay. People were worried they weren't *ever* going to get those stats, since matches from later days have been going up.

Considering that some of my games from this weekend showed up in one of the guy's I was playing with's game history, it seems unlikely that they are "lost" -- we just have to figure out the problem and top men are on it.

That was enough for me to believe the stats weren't "lost".

::EDIT:: Too slow for Coco Beware.

AWESOME...thanks for keeping us informed.

yeh look at my wins and loses thus far.

anyhow, i was joking earlier, but if combos are the new thing then i'll have to adjust and use them as well.

Well, from what Luke was saying, the combos being found right now aren't "real combos," so to speak.

I have two Forge related questions, since posting it in the Online Match-up topic would be pointless:

a) the Custom Power-up: how do I customize it and can it allow temporary invincibility? Can I also decide how often it respawns?

b) I've noticed that I can decide which respawn points are meant for which team. I want a couple of points for the third team, but how do I know which color will be the third team? Are Red and Blue automatically the first and second team by default, and if so: will green (for instance) automatically be the third team?

And can be patched, if they are found, unlike Halo 2.

Max am cry?

Agh, this host selection thing is really pissing me off.

I have a 20 Mb/sec down, and 750Kb/sec up connection. In practice I get 15Mb/sec down, 750 Kb/up.

I've only hosted one game. A game which was completely flawless to boot.

Hey guys. To be fair to Warhawk and to hopefully get folks more aware of the online/matchup forum, TF2 thread was moved over there as well and this thread should be used for single player discussion.

So we need someone to create a halo 3 multiplayer thread for the online forum. I could have Tre do it, or someone here can do the honors. ;b

How do you know if you're hosting?

I'll start one up, unless anyone has any objections.

Ghal has everything and the kitchen sink covered in this thread, so I won't fancy the OP up too much.

I object.

I haven't done many self-important things since my return. Let me make it.

Go for it.

I'm not to crazy about splitting the thread between SP and MP. Discussions involving SP and MP in any game normally have a lot of related items.

Yah. Like EvilLore said, hopefully it'll get more people aware of the Online forum.

wtf, so my cousin logs in and we talk 1 on 1 while im finishing off a BTB and he waits, so he decides to go into lone wolves for a quick game and while playing someone in that game sends him a voice invite, someone he doesnt know.

It's pretty obvious whats going on so I check his achiement list to find he just got the mongoose splatter achievement...

Seriously bungie, please don't stick these kind of achiements in halo 3 online games :/, I earned mine at least unlike a lot of players I bump into.

Oh dear, now he has 4 kills in a row and 5 stick achiements...

I think
Floodgate
has become my favorite level in the game. The visuals are amazing and it gives
it is the true potential of a flood. An enemy that is smart and visceral, and literally will flood over you

That's hot.

Were there people really complaining about how infrequently Slayer showed up in Lone Wolves? Slayer still popped up the majority of the time and I actually liked the variety of Crazy King or Oddball every 4 to 5 matches.

Probably played over 50 Lone Wolves games and honestly felt like I had objective based gametype every other match. Maybe 1 out of every 3 would be more accurate for me.

Opening it back up. Changing the title back to official thread to avoid confusion, but please utilize the online forum thread for organizing and such.

Ah, I was wondering what would happen to all the campaign and story chatter, good to see the thread alive and kicking.

I have a question and its pertinent to the SP so I guess it goes into this thread. I saw the last ad of the Believe campaign and it seems that after all the ad agency did have knowledge of the events in the game (Nice lie Stinkles). That was great imo. Also, WTF is wrong with Kotaku and the Halo bashing? I just read an article there calling the last ad of the believe campaign full of spoilers when in fact it doesn't have any? You would think they would play the game before commenting on it, but no. This disappointed me a lot because I like Kotaku, but sometimes I cannot deal with their hate for everything Halo related and the fact that every new day they try to spin all Halo related articles into something bad.

Went to check out my stats and I went from ~100exp to...60? Probably normal in-game (haven't played today) but I found that wierd. Also it's using my emblem and color scheme I had like the day I got the game and never used again

Ummm, not really. As Frankie already said, it was just "flavor" of the overall tone of the game. And you
did you watch after the credits?
Sounds to me like you might have missed something.

No. They had no idea. When we saw the rough cut we said, WTF. They even had they general terrain if not right, then close enough.

Annecdotal evidence : The ending of the campaign isn't even remotly close to what was told in the ad. Masterchief wasn't captured, and he didn't even fight for his safety against brute in humanity last stand.

Playing through single player Legendary and having a blast. So good to have Halo Legendary back.
I've been doing the same. I just got close to the end of mission eight,
"Cortana" last night; I found her and called it a night. It took me an hour and a half to get up to that point in the mission - and I was loving it. The new tactics the Flood exhibit really come into play more and made for a tense, challenging fight through the muck. A few standout moments -
--Climbing the first big ridge, at the crashed Pelican. There was a huge throng of Flood at the top, but they would swarm in and attack in waves - but they pulled back every time I took out a few, trying to lure me in. One of them was an Elite with a Gravity Hammer, the bastard. He took me out a half dozen times. They no longer do the straight rush, but rather fall back and hide, waiting to pounce. Sneaky.

--Pinned down by scads of turret forms, and diving from one point to another, dropping deployable cover and bubble shields along the way grabbing ranged weapons. I've read lots of people having problems with these guys, but they take about one second of plasma or spike fire, or two Brute Shots, and they fold up. Not bad, I just had to be careful as hell.

It sounds like this is going to be Halo 3's Library, the level every one hates, but I actually find it to be one of the best in the game. Very different, challenging (for the right reasons), with a gorgeous-yet-icky visual style and great atmosphere. The Flood are a smart, overwhelming challenge in this game.

My single biggest issue with Campaign so far: no three-way battles. Those were some of the most memorable set piece fights in the first two games, and the new enemy AI for both the Covenant and Flood would make for some spectacular ones. I don't understand why they were not included. :(
