WOOT! I did it! 1000/1000 achievement points, baby! :D :D

On a different note, did you guys know that the Scarab has more destroyable parts than it's legs? I sure didn't, at least not until about an hour ago. Both it's gun, and the back of the Scarab is destroyable. Here's some pictures of me taking the beast down on
The Covenant
with a Hornet.

Here's where I started shooting the the gun on top of the Scarab, and to my surprise, you can damage it!

Here's as damaged as I could get it before moving onto the next destroyable part on the Scarab. I'm guessing there's another specific area you have shoot to fully remove the gun.

I looked down and saw this red blinking light. (which you can see in the above picture) Hmm..what could it be there for? Is is just for looks, or is it there for another reason? There's only one way to find out....

Oh snap! It's also destroyable!? AWESOMENESS. There really is a number of different ways to take down a Scarab.

After that back piece was gone, it left the weak spot of the Scarab badly exposed. Well...you all can pretty much guess what happened from there. ;)

There has got to be a way that bungie can take the best 100 of thoese saved films/clips and upload them as browser viewable videos. A "Clip of the Day" type thing. I just want to share these videos with people who don't have 360s.

Nope, there really isn't any way for us to do that considering Saved Films are small data files that require the game engine to watch.

Could bungie somehow put the engine as a pc download and have it work that way? Not sure the tech behind that kind of thing.
Oh geezus no no no.

But what could happen is they could hire someone for really cheap that already has good capture equipment and have them go through the tedium of converting the videos and posting them. That would be completely reasonable.

I say we get blimblim or someone of equal skill to take the best of Bungie's favourites or other popular clips and capture them and put them on his site. Would that bring any legal issues?

It all started with "What would happen if..."

Turns out you can mess up the man cannons too. :lol

EDIT:Resized/rehosted images.

Resize those, please, and re-host somewhere that isn't Imageshack.

I can't even see what's going on.
If we all refresh enough we'll see some cool frogs and then less of the poster...

But would it ever be possible that an external video player like WMP could be created by a Bungie engineer to play these clips? He could use code from the engine. Im no engineer but I am declaring this possible... git to werk!

sure, maybe it's technically possible.. but it's definitely not reasonable.
I'd rather time spent on new maps, and next IP.

lol, well I cant imagine it would be something that the entire studio would work on:lol . One dude - a dark room - some code - Happy bday saved film fans.

I just don't see it being worth the money to develop something like that. They've already offered more than anything else out there.

They can always innovate even further with their next game.

If they included a puzzle game like Portal using the H3 engine THEN that would be true. *cough*

That may well be the case, but B.net and XBL have been keeling over as it is.

I'm sure it will be upped to 16 eventually.

Oh please. Matchmaking can handle (and it has admirably) over a million simultaneous users but throwing together a 16 person game over a 12 is beyond its abilities?

Bullshit.

Tough Luck Skull + Catch Skull + Thunderstorm Skull + Heroic + Sierra 117 = Awesome

All the fucking grunts with grenades on that level... :lol

I hope the Bnet stats update soon. So some are saying that todays are games are showing up? If so do you still have a discrepancy between your actual stats/rank and the one displayed on Bnet?

I've been there. During the first encounter the Arbiter got blown about 60ft in the air.

Dear Bungie,

Get your fucking shit together with the stat updates.

Why is this such a big deal to you? Is a few days going to kill you if it takes it that long to straighten out?

The story in Halo 3 is pretty good addition to the Halo universe.

However, as a physicists and a nitpicker, the impossibility of the Ark bugs me to no end. I like the Ringworld and Dyson sphere ideas since they are physically possible (kind of); the Ark does not fit into the same category. How is the atmosphere able to stay on the Ark? How is there even gravity on the Ark? True, it can be explained away with some super advanced technology, but I like the Ringworld and Dyson sphere since they're believable.
(Ghost of Onyx and Halo 3 spoilers)

Yes, I realize I'm talking about a Universe that has things like Slipspace, but I can still have these crazy views.

I was thinking this exact same thing as well.

I must voice my opinion on the lack of "Epic" battles.

The scarab battles were awesome, but I wanted something EPIC. Like the diorama they have in their commercial, i wanted something like that :( Or at least something like the beginning of silent cartographer in Halo 1

Bungie,

fix your GAME BREAKING spawns! It's nto that hard to do with Forge. I'm out numbered, 2 to 4, in Territories at Last Resort, and I could have won were it not for a guy spawning in the base behind me when I'm taking the last territory.

The Covenant
is epic from beginning to end.

I have to agree with you. That commercial was exactly what I was looking for, but it just wasn't in the game. Some kind of battle like that would have been awesome, but I just don't know if that is even possible to do in a video game.

Boy, you must be on crack. There were so many epic battles in this game.
Every scarab encounter was epic (they showed up three times total)
and then there were other multiple epic battles scattered throughout the campaign. Have you played it on Legendary yet? I think the harder the difficulity you play it on, the more epic battles you're bound to be a part of.

Anyways, on a different note, I just beat the game and I'm extremely happy with it. I was skeptical about the Halo series after Halo 2, but Bungie did the right thing and went back to Halo: CE for their inspiration. I'm a bit confused about the ending though...I might have to play through the campaign ALL over again (which I'm perfectly content with :D ) to fully understand what's going on.

Well to be fair, there's never been a million simultaneous users on Halo 3. :lol
The number reported in game seems to be users in the last 24 hours. The only "accurate" currently online count I've seen for Halo 3 is on bungie.net... currently at 323,073 players.

The Arbiter is a really handy on the last level. I was trying to beat it on Legendary and the first time I played it, the Arbiter died. Then I hit a checkpoint so he didn't respawn. I was stuck alone and got raped for like 2 hours. I restarted the level the next day and kept the Arbiter alive, then the mission was a breeze.

He can slice and dice with that sword of his.

Definitely. I've been replaying the game on Heroic, and the
sniping section of The Ark
felt far more tense than it did on Normal

I didn't even know he could die.

oh yeah, i mention the scarab battles, but I want epic in terms of, 20, 30 soldiers/elites fighting along side the master chief against hordes of grunts and brutes etc.

Something like running through a explosion riddled battle field and popping guys left and right. Get that "last stand" kind of feeling.

It hits over a million on weekends, or so Bungie's count says.
