Yes. First make sure your lobby is set to "Local" or "System Link". If you started a mission when it was set to "Xbox Live", you'll have to restart the level from the beginning after you set the lobby to "Local" or "System Link". Then hold down both bumpers, left stick, A, and DPad-Down for 3 seconds.

Yes the flaming helmet is bungie only...and yes it is the Hyabusa helmet...just with flames.

Now that you are Bungie and Microsoft is Microsoft who controls the Halo Bible? In the press release it states "As part of this transaction, Bungie and Microsoft have forged a deep and long-term development and publishing relationship focused on the continued success of the “Halo” franchise." Does that mean you still control the Halo story line and you would say guide other developers that build a Halo game with what the Halo Bible says? Or do they have free reign to butcher the Halo story line (if another developer were to make a halo game). I guess what I am asking is if someone makes a Halo game the way Jackson and Ensemble are right now. Will you all help with the story line?
 
The secret Bungie helmet is cool.
I'm wondering how it's triggered though. It's possible Bungie just made the game check for specific gamertags, but I think it's more likely that there's a way to unlock it - it's just ridiculously obscure.

What? I asked if that helmet, the one shown in the picture(NOT Hayabusa) is a Bungie-only thing. I don't care about flaming helmets at all. I just want the "Recon" helmet or whatever it's called. The reason I called it the Ninja helmet is because it was tagged as the Ninja helmet in the Beta I believe.

Check for specific gamertags? Sounds doubtful to me, as far as unlocking the flaming helmet....there just has to be a way to unlock it.

Also, I have a Forge problem/question. Sometimes when editing a map, on the pause menu there is no "Save changes" option, only "Save as new map."

What gives?

Microsoft will retain an equity interest in Bungie, at the same time continuing its long-standing publishing agreement between Microsoft Game Studios and Bungie for the Microsoft-owned “Halo” intellectual property as well as other future properties developed by Bungie.

I think that makes it pretty clear who owns Halo. And its storyline. That being said, I would be curious as to whether or not Bungie will still make decisions regarding the storyline after their contract with MS expires. For the time being, I'm sure they'll still be intimately involved with anything and everything Halo. I wonder if there's a Microsoft exec somewhere, though, who's been studying the Halo Bible, preparing to take over creative control once Bungie's through with the game? Or if once Bungie's finished with Halo games, they'll still have Frank or someone devoted to working with other devs on Halo titles?

Eventually, Microsoft will have to take over creative control of Halo. I just can't imagine, in, say, six years, Bungie going multiplatform and completely buying back their company, and then still making the creative decisions for an MS-owned IP. At some point, Bungie will have to completely abandon Halo.

This is such a strange situation - like people have been saying, nothing like this has ever happened before.

I am excited though. Because either way, whatever Bungie does next will be awesome - whether it's Halo or not.


Also, Legendary co-op tonight. 7pm central (-6 GMT). 2 levels: The Covenant and Halo. Who's down?

I agree completely, I can't wait to see what Bungie makes for us next. But my concern is Bungie has taken such care of keeping the cannon accurate and the story line wonderfully accurate that I would hate to see it all go to shit now...

I hope that Bungie still retains some creative control. I can imagine how wrong things could go.

600 EXP, and level 50 in a ranked playlist. Crazy!

Not only is he the first to hit it (that I know of), but there's not even anyone else at the rank below him (Brigadier). So he's TWO ranks ahead of everyone else, including the most hardcore, upper-echelon Halo players.

It's worth noting IS possible that that final row of ranks doesn't follow the pattern of all the others, and the final rank is "Master Chief" or something, and not just General grade 4. Possible, but unlikely

Seriously though, I think/hope Bungie controls the rights to Halo. I don't want to see this series bastardized in any way, shape or form. The advertising was a little overboard on Halo 3 and although the hype is warranted in my opinion, their are more delicate ways to handle the franchise.
 
so is Frank still threatening to ban people using the chinesse exploit to get their FFA achievements...or did they own up to having the worse set of MP achievements concievable

Bungie...next time make any mp achievements unlockable in any ranked match...problem solved

I wonder why they made it so retarded...in Halo 2, all you had to do was hold the left trigger down once you ran out of grenades.
 
Finally finished the campaign...thought it was incredible, even though the story was kind of scattered. I'm pissed that the game, for some reason, thinks I didn't finish mission 7. So when I beat the final mission, it didn't think I had beaten the whole game - thus
the credits didn't roll and I didn't see that MC and Cortana survived.

Arrgh.

Otherwise, awesome game.

You have to beat it on Legendary in order to view the Cortana/Chief ending.
 
I don't want to search through 500 pages ( or start a new thread) but I have a quick question: for those of you with a widescreen TV does it force 4:3 mode on you during split screen? I finally played some split screen with a friend yesterday and my tv went into 4:3 mode with the black bars on the side. In Halo 2 it used to split it vertically ( which kinda sucked) but it atleast used up the whole screen. Is there a setting or something , or is this just the way the game is?

wrong i beat it on heroic and saw it the first time..the legendary portion is after thatr part it shows the frigate drifting towards a planet that is apparrently activating something .

I tend to push wax to the back. My voice features 2 amazing tones! Normal sensual, and high pitched giggles. It's similar to a Police siren if the lower tone was sexy.

Oh and you don't have to beat it on legendary to view the spoiler described above. If you beat it on legendary
you get a few extra seconds of the ending that shows good stuff
