I think Saturday. It looks like I'll be headsetless for now, but if we don't do it now, I have a feeling we'll break apart and do it on our own. You guys are all getting the campaign scoring achievements already, so Terminals are the last major goal of TGS other than fun and exciting rumpus to be had.

Are you up for Saturday evening?
 
I had this surreal experiance last night during a game. Team skirmish - territories, for some reason everyone else on my team quit so it was just myself against a team or eight or so.

No chance in hell really, so I just hid to wait out the remaining time left.

Some blue guy walks up to me (me being a red guy), right in my face. I think he realised I was the only person on my team left. He started to jump up and down. Then I did, guess we were just having fun doing that.

Then he disappeared and I heard a beeping sound, a familar honking. The blue guy was sitting in a mongoose waiting for me, so I jumped on and we went for a spin around the map. One of other blue guys tried sniping me, but missed and we just wasted the last ten seconds or so avoiding shots from his other team members.

Surreal, but stupid amounts of fun.

Legendary run starting no later than 10:30 AM CST. So for all you guys off work today send me a message on AIM or XBL. We plan on this being a 5 and a half hour run! We need 1 MAYBE 2 more. Send me a message asap!!

Man...my K/D ratio has been going in the tank the last couple of days. It has gotten to the point where checking my stats on bnet the next morning feels like checking my credit card balance online after the holidays. :(


Still...the most fun I have had gaming in the...forever. I swear I've spent more time playing Halo 3 in the past week and a half than every game that I purchased this summer combined.

I know what you mean, I always strive for 1.50 K/d but always fall around the ~1.40 range. Social on the other hand I'm 2.0+ :D

Still looking for a definite 4th. I got 2 messages and then I replied. Since then I have yet to hear anything back. We plan to start in 10 minutes!! :D

Hop on and send a voice chat request.
 
Wish they would of added a hidden option somewhere in the game that let you play these quotes marines and other characters say during the game... would of been a blast to listen to em all.
 
I got the marathon achievement. There's a lot of misinformation here:

- You don't need to get them in order
- You don't need to start from the beginning of the level
- You don't need to access the last one on heroic/legendary (even if the messages are different)
- You don't even need to finish the level once you get them. Just save and quit.


You just have to make sure that you wait for them to go red and the second message to come up.

At any time in a Saved Film:

When you are holding down the Right Trigger (doesn’t matter if you are FF or Slo-mo); press Start to pause the game, let off the trigger, then press B to dismiss the Start button menu, and VOILA, the film keeps playing at the speed you were holding the trigger at when you hit Start. This way you don’t have to hold down the Trigger all the way to get to minute 45 of a campaign film to take that screenshot.

I know. I'm definitely using that...I was about to find a rubberband or something.

I prefer the one I heard on Sierra 117 from a female marine..I don't remember it exactly, but it was like this: "Alright you bastards, I'm at the end of my cycle, and I'm ready to kill!"

You have to watch them until they get red and until you get the "Fragment Ends" message. There's one that doesn't have the "Fragment Ends", but you'll know it's finished.
 
LTTP but finished the game on Legendary co-op last night.

Not a big fan of the final Warthog run level OR the ending. Maybe I need to watch it again but I was just left with a picard.gif feeling.

Pretty good overall. Now I'm working my way through single player Legendary. Having a blast. Difficulty seems just perfect.

Yes, I know. It didn't work.

I'm playing through it again on Legendary, so I'm gonna do it in order and watch them exactly how you're supposed to. Hopefully it will work this time.

Last night I was forwarding 45minutes of campaign footage. Holding the controller in my left hand, browsing neogaf with the right. Thank god they're wireless. This is even better, now I can type too!
 
Halo 3 causes 200% surge in Xbox Live traffic

A very interesting statistic:
Not much change in the number of hosts, implying that the bandwidth increase came from existing Live subscribers

Interestingly enough, 9/25/2007 also saw the web release and mass distribution of Butt Pumpers VII: Hot, Nasty, Butt Pumping Action This Time It's Personal, starring Andy Van Beefdrill and Candy Blowhole. Probably contributed to the bandwidth drain.

Also as for the chart above me, it's not too surprising, I see over 500k people on during the decent times usually, and I imagine it's not the same 500k playing all day long.

There's a cinematic sequence after the credits and if you've finished the fight on Legendary, there's brief, several second ending beyond that one. Just making sure you've seen both of those.
 
Who does the voice for Half-Jaw? Loved him in Halo 2 and in 3 even more. He's such a cool elite and he seems to be incredibly tall.
Sometimes I wish they'd make an Elite spinoff Halo game, but that probably wouldn't fly since people can't relate to that as much.
