Well the last chapter is titled Full Circle and looking at all the history of Marathon it just really makes sense.
As I said. It could very well be. I see both sides.
although I'm not sure I can understand The Master Chief being able to survive for 200 years into the future...

I'm dying to play some custom games, but it's far too hard to get a decent group together. I'm really hoping Bungie implements some sort of matchmaking system for custom matches in a future update.

In the meantime, though, if you guys get a game of rocket race/infection/pirates/anything going, hit me up. I'm plaidtopia on LIVE, also. I'll be on as much as I can this weekend and practically all day on Monday.

So apparently you need to complete levels all in one sitting to get the achievement? I did the two halves of Tsavo highway at two different times and didn't get the achievement. However, I do have the achievements for Missions I, II, & IV. No big deal, just a little odd.

The only minor twist to the whole thing is that I didn't continue from a save. I had to reset the level once because I was doing a coop run with someone else. Didn't have time to finish the level alone or on coop due random things, but I was able to start from Rally Point Alpha today and thought I'd get the achievement.

I think one-sided VIP on Isolation is broken. I've played it three times and every time it results in a 2-2 draw. The offensive team ALWAYS wins. There is nowhere for the VIP to run or hide on Isolation and the enemy swarms you within 5 seconds. They need to take that out of Team Objective.

Cryosleep?
Yeah, But that wouldn't be the only thing.

Another thought was about it being Coral. We know that there was a Forerunner artifact found on Coral, and if you looks closely at where the big blue beam is coming from you see there's some light patterns on the surface. Could it be just another portal to the ark? Or More.

I just replayed the final level using the mongoose. Wow, that was awesome, but I'm sure the mongoose shenanigans already happened in this topic.

Wait, but there is no Cortana in Marathon, how would that work? Bungie would have to re-tell the whole Marathon story to fit Cortana in there. I look foward to it :D :D :D

Now try the Chopper.

This thread is depressing right now.
Why? I have not been participating, so I couldn't tell. I assume the majority of people are/were playing, just like me. If anything, this indicates how great the game is.

Ha, I only say so because I'm away from my 360 this weekend.

The game is awesome.

Book Spoilers:

Wait, aren't Smart AI types supposed to die in 7 years, it seems Cortana would have died sooner than that because of what she went through and the information she received. Maybe that question will be answered in a future book/game/otherpieceofcanon?

And I just beat the game on Heroic, I was originally going to do it on easy and then go up each difficulty as I beat it again and again (I did and am doing that with the past Halo games). Anyway, I took Bungie's advice and I feel very satisfied after beating it on Heroic. It was hard, but fair. Some "WHAT?" moments, though.

With that said - Story=AWESOME. Thank you Bungie.

Well, Cortana has copied herself over many times already and honeslty, she should be dead by now. If bungie makes Marathon again, but without Cortana I will be a sad puppy.

What? Where is it?
There is a video in gametrailers that shows you how to unlock it. I am not sure. I havent looked for it yet. There are 2 btw.

Read after completion on Legendary.

So that ending planet (or ship) after the credits is the Marathon.

My friend pointed it out and it just makes sense.

I think they are going to
remake Marathon within the Halo universe.

Halo 3 and Book Spoilers:

That's true. I never thought about her copying herself. I wish it was clarified more, and it does seem like it's been way longer than 7 years since her inception. Cortana is one of my favorite characters, my other favorite character that's-not-Master-Chief didn't make it out of Halo 3... :(

I have lots of favorite characters, but why couldn't they pick another candidate?

I've never been so inconsistent playing a game online. Some matches I'm either 1st or 2nd on my team, other times I'm dead at the bottom. I suck balls on Snowblind, and I suck balls on Shotty Snipers, so when I get both, its maximum ball suckage.

Construct = camp the transports with the sword for massive kills. Err. FAIL!
I kinda agree, but I bet there is a way around, I just have not found it yet.

From a storywise point: Jhonson and Miranda had to die because Bungie had to end the story arch of Halo, thus all characters that belonged to that story arch and that would not play important roles in future chapters of the series had to come to a noble ending. From a emotional point: Jhonson left the stage with a bang, I couldn't have asked for more.

Really, don't two negatives make a positive?

Question (spoiler):

So 343 says The Master Chief is Forerunner. He's called the Reclaimer, as in Reclaiming the index? In Iris, the players were called the Redeemers presumably because you are redeeming their mistake of Firing the Halos? Could this have anything to do with the Tiers of Forerunner mentioned in the Bestiarum?

Also there's something insane I found reading the Terminal logs dealing with Iris.

There's a mention of an AI named Mendicant Bias.

Adjutant Reflexes newer avatar was titled MB_05_032.jpg

So what could this mean. AR = Mendicant Bias? And if the avatar is New AR's avatar then who's old AR? The original person that the AI was based off of?

EDIT: Just noticed the <//> thing too. Like from the transcripts of the video text that led us to the hidden frames.

Interesting stuff though!
Are you sure that redeemer doesnt mean the person who will fire the Haloz, since you are redeeming the forerunners from their original mistake in creating the Flood?

I cannot snipe, so I just stay underground. Shotty+melee is your friend.

It's just something about that map, I just suck big time on it. Ah who am I kidding I suck online altogether, it's depressing. When I play it feels like everyone else takes more damage than I do. I wanna cry.

Would you happen to have a link? Attempting to search Gametrailers is a quite a task.

The link was posted in this thread a while ago. They posted the video because it also has the location of the skull that the Flood throws at you. Look a few pages back. I will get it later too because I need that skull.

I just want to give a shout out to Mmarsu and Chars for leaving me hanging in a match 4-1at Narrows. But it's okay, I ended up winning. You guys REALLY owe me.

Try ProElite and HayGuyzLolz they both are awesome players who stick until the end.

As for the Forerunners,
I always thought they were human and just that. Much, much, much more matured and technologically advanced, but still human.
Isn't that why the weapon they built to stop the flood is a circle?
Everything starts over again. Humans as they are in the game are the same Forerunners just not near the same level as the ones that built the Halos

Iris confirmed
Humans are not the Forerunners
They were quite fond of earth though

that would explain why i ended up doing the 1st level 3 times.

After watching the video, I'm going to go try it with the Chopper, as I know precisely where it is.

Halo 3 spoilers:

In the end, I'm glad the way it turned out, but I'm just sad that Johnson will not appear in any post-Halo 3 canon. He'll appear in Pre-Halo 3 canon, but still...

Both Miranda and Johnson went out with a bang so Bungie at least gave them that - you're right about that.

Wow, just finished. What an awesome experience. Amazing!

Two (small) gripes:

1) The save system. Seriously... it's bipolar. There were periods where I'd get a checkpoint every 1 minute then periods where they were spaced quite far apart. Also, near the end of the game, I got a message "cannot resume campaign, please start the level over in the Campaign lobby" (or something to that effect). No biggie.

2)
The Flood level
is about 20-30% too long. It's the only time in the game where I thought to myself "Ok, this is enough, I get the idea, let's move on." Then you have to escape and experience it all over again!

Also:

I played on Heroic my first time through.
Climbing that damn tower at the end... wow, quite a challenge. If climbing it wasn't hard enough, holding your position until the door opened at the top... eek. I thought the game held a great balance between challenging and unfair, without ever really going too far into the unfair side.
